Just today, Tapales together with his promoter and their entourage are flying back to the Philippines. They are expected to have their final camp in the high-altitude mountains of Baguio. Tapales is indeed overtraining. Hopefully, he only had limited hard work when he was in LA because he also had a lot of sparring sessions there against Ancajas, Magsayo, Moton, etc. There are still around 2 months before the fight, Inoue is also expected to have started his light training. It's really interesting to see if Tapales' sacrificing a long preparation is enough to hurdle the Japanese superstar.

We are just only 1 month and 2 weeks away for this upcoming or anticipated fight. Wondering on why they did really travel back into their country for some training. Arent they able to do such training on LA?
Well, its their choice and in speaking about over training then just let them be on which they are fully aware no what are the things that needs to be avoided considering that the fight is going near.
It is really that good that they do make out some good preparations for the upcoming fight yet Tapales team is really that fully aware on whats stake on here and whats the big achievement and result
on the time that he would be able to beat up Inoue.

The fight is near and preparations should be made. Both sides are really that preparing specially on Inoue's side too. Im already excited for this upcoming fight.
Neither we would be seeing some upset or something that would really be still that normal considering that Inoue might be still ended up on being unbeatable.

They're already in the US since August which was already over 2 months. They trained and sparred with former world champions and some prospects. Maybe they're doing it for a change of environment. Japan is a little similar in terms of landscapes although it's colder. In Baguiao, Tapales will have fewer distractions, especially from useless vloggers. Tapales will have lesser-quality sparring partners though, but it'll be fine as no one from his sparring partners in the US is like Inoue's style as well.

As for the long training time of Tapales which runs for more than 4 months and sparring high-level fighters in the very first month are very unusual. Normal fighters train between 2 to 3 months. They start light, go hardcore, and sparring is part of the final stages when the body is nearing its peak. Most fighters who overtrained in the past lost their fights which is why it is uncommon nowadays to have very long camps. But we'll see how this goes. I am somehow hoping for Tapales to show something big in this fight.

Tapales is pushing himself to train harder than his usual routine, and we can't blame him for it. He's going up against the best in the world in that division, and even though he's a champion himself, people see Inoue as more dominant. So, Tapales has to prove them wrong and earn the respect he deserves.

Moreover, if Tapales were to win this fight, he would bring honor to the Philippines, and people might start thinking of him as the next Pacman. Just imagine, a pound-for-pound top fighter falling at the hands of a Filipino underdog champion. That would certainly grab major attention once the news gets out. But for that to happen, Tapales needs to ensure he scores a massive upset win here.

Well, the thing you have stated about his training regime then it is really that having a point that trying out to changed up the environment on which if the country he resides in would be having the same
climate on where the fight would be held then it would really be that significant in speaking about having a training there. Humidity might really be looking not a serious thing but it does really count
on a boxers situation in speaking about conditioning of their body on which it do really need to adapt immediately so that it wont really be a huge effect once they would really be fighting into a certain
place which these things are totally noticeable. It might not be that big issue but it do really affect out a certain boxer.

Overtained or fatique is something that should really be that avoided specially the fight is really that coming near. Each camp do really knows about such thing yet this one
is really that been anticipated for long on which it would really be that right that they would be making out those hard training for this
upcoming fight.

It's good to hear that Tapales is pushing himself very hard in training. That is the sign that he wanted to really show that he is the one that will give Inoue the lost. And we like that kind of mindset for a boxer and I think they all learn it from the great Manny Pacman Pacquiao. I mean you could have all the talent in the world, but if you don't put your ass off and train hard, you will end up for nothing.

Moreover, if Tapales were to win this fight, he would bring honor to the Philippines, and people might start thinking of him as the next Pacman. Definitely, I don't think that the Philippines has a reigning world champion except himself at this time. So he needs to continue and fight and should be retaining that belt at all cost as he doesn't want to earn the year without any Filipino champion. He needs to sacrifice more to continue the Filipino tradition and follow the path of Manny and other great champion before him.

even when tapales is in his prime years, he'd lose this fight. Inoue is just a different monster, tapales be lucky if he survives 12 rounds but most probably it's going to be Inoue by KO.

betting is still yet open but the odds will probably be Inoue 1.3 vs Tapales 3.4 you have to be a die-hard fan of Tapales to actually bank on him. he is a champ though and by any chance there will be an upset, it's a facepalm to Inoue fans.

I agree with you on that. It's hard to be biased; we're not blind, and we can see how good Inoue is and how powerful his punches are. If we look at how he beats his opponents, it's easy to tell that he always dominates. His opponents are afraid to trade punches in a toe-to-toe fight; they just fight to survive but still end up failing. Their only chance is to prolong the fight, but there's no chance of winning.

betting is still yet open but the odds will probably be Inoue 1.3 vs Tapales 3.4 you have to be a die-hard fan of Tapales to actually bank on him. he is a champ though and by any chance there will be an upset, it's a facepalm to Inoue fans.

No, I guess if the odds of inoue is 1.30, I think I'll take it as it's an easy money.  Grin

I mean you could have all the talent in the world, but if you don't put your ass off and train hard, you will end up for nothing.

He wants to win, so he has no choice but to train hard, especially since Inoue isn't an ordinary fighter—he's called 'The Beast' for a reason. Inoue is also training hard for this unification fight; it's a big bout for him, and success here will be added to his resume. As we all know, Inoue could make history if he keeps winning championships in every division he climbs to.

He needs to sacrifice more to continue the Filipino tradition and follow the path of Manny and other great champion before him.

If the fight between Ancajas and Inoue wasn't postponed, we could probably have another champion. Now we only have one, and there's a risk of losing it if he can't beat Inoue's style. Hopefully, he will win, but I don't expect a lot though.

Just imagine, a pound-for-pound top fighter falling at the hands of a Filipino underdog champion. That would certainly grab major attention once the news gets out. But for that to happen, Tapales needs to ensure he scores a massive upset win here.

Cant really still make out some conclusion yet on which we do know that there's always that a chance for an upset and that would really be definitely be giving that huge facepalm on Inoue's fans.
You are right that beating up the monster is really that hard and something a very tough challenge in Tapales career but he wont be called a champion for nothing.
They do make out preparations for this upcoming fight on which we could say that he's really that determined because he do knows on whats stake on this one.
3.4 odds? It isnt really that a  bad one but 1.3 for Inoue would be most likely be interesting to put up some all in bet.  Cheesy

i could be wrong with that odds, 30% for almost a 90% win Inoue would be a loss for the bookie. i could just be giving tapales a big credit because he is also a champ. he wouldn't be in that position if he can't box. he still has lots of time in preparation but i remember fulton is close to that as well. kudos to tapales for not ducking the no. 2 p4p though. for a boxer who has seen firsthand what Inoue can do.  it's a tough fight when you can foresee yourself taking the canvas temperature challenge with just one hit from the monster.

Lol, but it's true we have to give credit for Tapales, for having the "conjones" to face the number 2 p4p. But I guess he knows that he is on the collision course with Inoue specially when he upset Akhmadaliev and took his belt. As per the odds, no doubt that Inoue will be the outstanding favorite in this fight and it's like that he is a sure winner already. But he shouldn't underestimate the Filipino because he knows what he can do in the ring and it will create a lot of ripple if Inoue loses this one.

So we should give credit for Marlon, and from all the reports that we are seeing, he is sacrificing a lot on his end like training very hard not just in US but also in Baguio the Philippines and facing a lot of good Filipino fighters to get himself feeling the power.

One month before the fight, here is the official poster,

However, I don't the video promotion though, there's no highlight for Tapales, he was just shown briefly when he steps on the ring after Inoue defeated Fulton.

Top Rank should have done better than this, https://twitter.com/trboxing/status/1729289372305084627

It looks like the one who created those highlights is biased, are they promoting Inoue too much?  .  That video doesn't look like the participants' match highlights but rather a promotional video for Inoue making an assumption that Inoue will win the upcoming fight.

Anyway I am still curious about the preparation of Tapales for this fight, I really like to see Tapales have an upset win on this but still, I know that is very slim considering how very skilled and all-rounded fighter Inoue is.

It's from TR so they will highlight Inoue more, but I do agree that it takes two to tango in the boxing ring, so Tapales deserves to be promoted as well. Remember that he has the other 2 belts that Inoue wanted to become a undisputed in super bantamweight.

Maybe they can include Tapales as pulling on of the biggest upsets when he defeated, Akhmadaliev.

Yes, his chances are slim, but who knows, Filipinos are known to be very tough and hungry fighter. He might give Inoue a very good fight here.

It did come from the promotional company of Inoue, which is Bob Arum's Top Rank, and maybe they are obviously the one handling the marketing so they will have to put more emphasis on their boxer and not Tapales.

Anyway I am still curious about the preparation of Tapales for this fight, I really like to see Tapales have an upset win on this but still, I know that is very slim considering how very skilled and all-rounded fighter Inoue is.

Last time we discussed, Tapales has been training everywhere, and back in the Philippines and sparring heavy Filipino hitters like Mark Magsayo and other super bantamweight fighters. And with that, he is 101% on training focus on this fight, really going full because this is his biggest fight of his career and he is facing the Monster. Nevertheless, we shouldn't discount that he still might have a very little chance, but he had done it before, upsetting champion and being the underdog.

Nothing to say as expected, they wanted to promote Inoue to bring more attention
and they are assuming or most of them if not all are assuming that it is going to be an easy
match for Inoue knowing how great the Monster is.

Let's wait for the actual match to see if what Tapales can bring, all the hard work will be seen when they are already fighting inside the
ring. More on preparations and sparring to make sure he's ready when the time comes.

And if I'm not mistaken, before the video is going out in the public, for sure they have shown this to MP, or Sean Gibbons as the President of MP and he should agree or not agree with the video and requested that Tapales deserves exposure as well.

Although both are champions, I understand that the video is all about Inoue showcasing how great he is.

Tapales's camp should not feel bad about it. In my opinion, it's the right way to market the fight, considering Inoue's popularity compared to Tapales, who has just recently made a name in boxing. Given that the fight is taking place in Japan, the target audience is the Japanese market, and the promo video aims to convince more people that their hero is unbeatable. These are just promotional tactics, however, and they do not dictate the outcome of the fight. Tapales should continue with his rigorous training and aim to win. If he manages to upset the champion, it would be a huge success for him, and the effective promotion would likely result in a decent amount of earnings.

Yeah, but maybe it will backfire on Top Rank if they didn't included Tapales in the promotion of the fight. Who knows, if Tapales has the perfect strategy and the God of boxing smile on him, he can pull that upset from the Monster.
Inoue is too much of favorite and he gets much more hype than Tapales so in this promotion Tapales is not included that much and I think this is all for the sake of the audience to attract more people for the purpose of making more money.
But it wasn't problem for Tapales because he was also great boxer and had won several championship titles which he even defended for several periods.
Everything could be worth it if Tapales manages to beat Inoue, as you said, who knows, Tapales has the perfect strategy and the boxing gods smile on him to bring victory.

In fact, this promotional video is already known by many people and even though some parties say this is unfair or inappropriate for Tapales, it is clear that it is no longer public secret.
And the meaning of all this has of course been approved or actually has official permission to distribute it.

I don't care about this promotional video, so it's no big deal what's in it.

What matters is that this fight will happen as scheduled. In reality, this fight doesn't need much effort to market because people will certainly watch it. More marketing might be necessary if the fight were held in neutral territory, but given that it's in Japan where Inoue is currently the best boxer, this isn't needed. People will watch and support him regardless.

More marketing might be necessary if the fight were held in neutral territory, but given that it's in Japan where Inoue is currently the best boxer, this isn't needed. People will watch and support him regardless.

And the fact that Inoue's name is damn hot at the moment, he's been treated as one of the top boxers from this era, people will watch
it and will be willing to spend money to see how Inoue continues his dominance.

For Tapales, it's his chance to showcase what he got, upsetting the monster in front of his home crowd will be a great achievement
in his career, I'm sure that's what he wants but the big question is how he will do it.

Can only conclude in the eyes of the fans, but the reality will take place when they are already fighting, and announcer declared who wins the fight.
