Time flies, the wait will be over soon as we will have a great christmas present watching this fight. As to the question if it's entertaining or not, obviously the answer is yes because these two champions are aggressive, they aren't boring to watch. Honestly, I'm a bit worried on Tapales here as he might be over confident that would lead to being careless. Knowing Inoue's power, Tapales should be careful and has to remain a counter puncher, and to be able to do that job effectively, he has to gain some quickness.
Six days more go and it's fight night. This fight will not be boring for sure as both fighters are explosive. One fighter is going to kiss the canvas soon, i just hope that its not Tapales who will be lying in the floor being counted by the referee lol. It's a good thing for Tapales that Nonito Donaire has some advice on him on what to do because, at one time, Inoue has almost suffered a defeat on the hands of the Filipino Flash. What could be that advice though? I have to check as this is the first time that I heard of it. But I will speculate that Nonito advise Tapales not to rush and relax and just wait for that opportunity to come. Because as you have said, in their first fight, Nonito almost upset Naoya Inoue and he is the last boxer to give Inoue a close fight. But in the second fight, Donaire changes his strategy and did go toe to toe against Inoue. And it was a dangerous strategy as Nonito was caught by that big counter left if I'm not mistaken and it was over in 2 rounds. He did try to surprise Inoue, but the opposite happened, instead of him use that strategy it was Inoue who surprised him and counter him in any way he tried to throw his solid combination. I also think that Donaire give that advise to Tapales to avoid mistake with his strategy, better to keep close and try to read whatever the fighting style Inoue will use for their fight. Though we don't really know what it is and what would be the plan for this upcoming fight, all will be reveal during thier meeting inside the ring.

Donaire realized that he did a big mistake by being too aggressive leaving him vulnerable to the counter punches of Inoue. That's why the rematch didn't really played well on the side of Donaire. Well, as we all know, Donaire had a good fight against Inoue on their first meeting, but that's all he can offer, he hit Inoue with some solid shots but the monster Inoue stil able to endure it, therefore he can't really beat Inoue using his power, so he shoudl have adjusted trying to use his height advantage and quickness, but what happened, happened, so he lost and probably career over for him. Now, Tapales is quite young compared to Donaire, so he is more powerful, the only thing he needs to do is to conserve his energy and try to look for a one punch KO as Inoue will be very busy every round.

But the question is if Tapales is capable of doing that supposed advice given by Donaire once in the ring. Donaire is the only boxer that gives Naoya Inoue a hard fight and I don't think anyone from the entire Super Bantamweight division do have that same capability. Donaire is even the reason why Inoue becomes stronger and since having that tough fight, Inoue makes sure not to repeat being in that hard state again. As a PH fan of boxing, I do hope though that Tapales will somehow erase all the doubts that he is nothing against the Monster. Impossible might it be for the others, even for most boxing analysts but who knows. At least, Tapales should make this fight not an easy path for Inoue becoming the undisputed champion in the Super Bantamweight.

They have different style in boxing as Donaire is a KO artist, however, Tapales is a kind of boxer that loves to take it slow and win in the end. Though all his wins prior to the win against Murodjon Akhmadaliev was in KO, but that as against a non champion boxer, Inoue here is a different kind of boxer as he is very popular and is on his journey in making a history in boxing. In terms of analytical aspects, everything is favored on Inoue, so if we based on that, there's no factor that point up being Tapales the winner, so as a supporter of Tapales, we just have to be optimistic that Inoue will make a wrong decision that will cause him to lose.

Tapales can hurt Inoue for once and make the greatest win of his life. Arum will feel the shocking loss in his life too. inoue only move up to 122 lbs to unify the belt. he will move up again to 126 to fight Espinoza or Vargas?

Inoue will likely win a KO, or if Tapales would want to win, it should be by KO also as it's hard to win in Japan if he would just rely on the judges. Inoue is the favorite in their country, so if it's a close fight, expect that points are given to Inoue. inoue only move up to 122 lbs to unify the belt. he will move up again to 126 to fight Espinoza or Vargas?
As previously reported, after he will unify all the belts, he'll stay for a while to fight challengers, but we never know if their statement would still stand after he can win this fight.

Tapales is a kind of boxer that loves to take it slow and win in the end. That style won't probably work against Naoya Inoue. The slow phase is a bad strategy against Inoue. If let's say Tapales sticks on that slow phase, that means he will be in defensive mode at most part of the match. Instead of an advantage for Tapales. it will be turned to Inoue's advantage as he will just keeps on connecting punch on Tapales and the result will be, the Japanese will by most points per round. In terms of analytical aspects, everything is favored on Inoue, so if we based on that, there's no factor that point up being Tapales the winner, so as a supporter of Tapales, we just have to be optimistic that Inoue will make a wrong decision that will cause him to lose. Yes. In every all aspects, Inoue is dominant to all factors. It was based on facts based on stats and performance. Tapales is really against all odds here. It's even a question if he can really give Inoue a problem along the match.

It would really be that hard to tell if we do speak about moving up for higher division but most likely he would really be that moving on that way on which we do consider out that he would be planning to be as great or more than on what Pacquiao had been able to achieve for sure. So unifying belts would be the target and this is through on beating up Tapales into this current division. In speaking about odds or chances of Tapales to beat up Inoue or make that upset then there are really those boxing fans who are really that rooting into that kind of chance. It isnt really just that talking or having that trust or confidence on what Tapales could give but also it do really give out that interest speaking about that good odds.

I have seen some article on which the team said about probable upset. But Tapales and his team, though acknowledging Inoue’s superior strength, are convinced an upset is not a far-fetched idea.“Marlon’s ready,” JC Mananquil, Tapales, promoter reported from Yokohama yesterday afternoon. “Everything is right on track,” Mananquil added three days after their arrival in Japan. In the event of a Tapalese triumph, he will become the first Filipino fighter to capture an undisputed championship, a feat that escaped even the great Manny Pacquiao. SourceSo they are really that optimistic on achieving or giving that good fight for Inoue.

Yes, I remember leading up to the fight, Donaire said that he will used a different strategy, and maybe that's what he wanted to do, go toe to toe, but it was the wrong strategy as Inoue is a different fighter from the first time they meet. And so Inoue is ready to everything that Donaire give him in that fight, and perhaps it was the age though of Donaire. If he is in his prime, or a prime vs prime, it could be very different as Donaire's timing is impeccable.

Yes indeed it was, but of course maybe Nonito wants to do something more, he believes that he has the experience to be able to do things better in the case of Tapales, something like to give him some tips because advice is kind of difficult, Furthermore, we are talking about Inoue, who is one of the best boxers there is. Until now, I have not seen Inoue fall defeated. He is a boxer who maintains his discipline and who does not decline. In fact, they are one of those boxers who I am sure will train on the 24th. and December 25, just to not lose form, this Japanese boxer has a lot of discipline and cares a lot about his status, for this reason I see that he can make a difference, not only with Tapales but with any boxer that comes his way. Come on, the fact that Nonito says that is because he feels that there is some kind of weak zone in Inoue, but obviously Inoue learned a lot with the Nonito fight, there is no better way to learn in boxing when he almost won the fight, It is when the boxer grows. What scares me the most about this fight is that I will finally see how Inoue is improving his technique even more, and if he makes a difference with respect to the others, I hate to praise him because his way of fighting is something frontal, he is not being hesitant, it is a boxer who gives a good show, but goes like other boxers who look for the technical to be able to shield themselves, Inoue is not like that, he all the time in each round goes through the fight without caring about anything, that is why this boxer is the best, I consider that he is a person who has everything to be a champion, now that Tapalaes is so convinced that he can do things well, I want to see the reaction when he sees that Inoe is handing him everything, this is something that excites him, and Not only do I also imagine that there are many boxing fans who are looking forward to this fight, in fact that is something that excites me, a December 26 with this level of fights, something that I love. Inoue: My Goal Was Never To Just Move Up In Weight, It Was Always To Create Historyhere came a point where Naoya Inoue knew he would set his sights on a fourth weight division.
His team wanted to make sure the move meant something.
“My goal was never just to move up in weight. It was always to create history,” Inoue told BoxingScene.com.
Two fights and another undisputed championship waiting in the wings would suggest mission accomplished.
All four major titles and the lineal championship are at stake in his December 26 showdown versus fellow unified junior featherweight titlist Marlon Tapales (37-3, 19KOs). The historic bout will stream live Tuesday on Lemino in Japan and on ESPN+ in the U.S. from Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
A win will see Yokohama’s Inoue (25-0, 22KOs) create more history, becoming Japan’s first-ever two-division undisputed champion. He will have done so just 54 weeks after he became the first Asian fighter to fully unify all four major titles in a division after his eleventh-round knockout of Paul Butler at this very venue last December.
The same location saw the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighter become the first boxer from Japan to become a unified champion at two more weights, just one fight later. Inoue earned the WBC and WBO 122-pound titles in a brutally one-sided, eighth-round knockout of Philadelphia’s Stephen Fulton this past July 25 at Ariake Arena. If he really understands it and can learn every word from Nonito Donaire then it is clear that Tapales can take away several important points that he must do when his fight with Inoue takes place. Nonito Donaire is quite great fighter even though he also lost to Inoue but he has at least two fight experiences against the champion Naoya Inoue. I know that Donaire lost to Inoue, but there are several important points that Donaire knows about how Inoue fights and this can be studied by Tapales to be able to find Inoue weak points because no matter how great a fighter is, they will definitely have weak. There is no waste of any advice given and it is appropriate for Tapales to be able to learn how Inoue fights so that he can balance and fight better. One of Inoue advantages is his endurance and of course Tapales shouldn't be too ambitious to finish the fight more quickly because this will really benefit Inoue. Look at how Inoue fights, he is aggressive but always waits for the right time to land every big blow and make his opponent lose by knockout. Tapales has to be careful about this and of course Tapales has to be able to save his energy so he doesn't run out in the middle round.

Those who are hoping for an upset here and has actually placed a bet for it will definitely enjoy the very high odds for Tapales. That's 8.60. If it is to be translated to the probability of Tapales winning this match, that would only be around 10% chance of winning.
Honestly, I can't see how Tapales can upset Inoue. In terms of points Inoue is clearly more agile than Tapales so he could earn points easily. In terms of power Inoue is also more dangerous than Tapales. Tapales could even be knocked out in this fight.

He needs to be patience and prevent to do the same mistake as Donaire did the last time they fight, that attempt to be aggressive is what Inoue wants. He's known to have that strong solid combination and with a wrong move Tapales can end with the same fate as Donaire, he needs to work on it. If he wants to get that chance better to fight wisely and try to counter or to create points, then move away from direct confrontations.

That's 11.6% using https://www.aceodds.com/bet-calculator/odds-converter.html. A very slim chance of winning, that's why it deserved a high payout, but honestly, even at the odds, if I'll bet on Tapales I wouldn't be too confident with my bet as I know how strong Inoue is. He can end this fight early if he will be more aggressive than usual, but knowing him, he has matured a lot and knows how to attack based on the right timing. Honestly, I can't see how Tapales can upset Inoue. In terms of points Inoue is clearly more agile than Tapales so he could earn points easily. If we don't believe him but we need to support him, it's advisable not to bet on the fight and just watch the game. At least, if he loss, we don't need to spend our money although we can spend a bit of emotion.

Slim but the probability is still there, more than 10% chance is still big if I'm not mistaken. So we really can't discount Tapales here as being a huge underdog. Remember that he also has 2 belts around his waist, so that says something about this champion. Honestly, I can't see how Tapales can upset Inoue. In terms of points Inoue is clearly more agile than Tapales so he could earn points easily. In terms of power Inoue is also more dangerous than Tapales. Obviously, in the last couple of fights of Inoue, he did score a knockout win that's why he has been tearing this division so to speak eventhough this is just his second fight. But his power is really one of a kind for this lower weight class and we don't know if Tapales has the chin to stay against that power punch.

Inoue does not only attack on the chin, if Tapales has a solid chin, Inoue might go with his signature liver shot. So Tapales has to be protect his weakness as Inoue will certainly find it once they are in the ring. Although Inoue has a lot of power in both hands, but we've seen him struggle a bit during his first fight with Donaire, so it's important that Tapales will look for that weakness too if he wants to have a chance of winning. It's just unfortunate that most fans believe this is not going to be a competitive fight as believing Tapales only has 10% chance of winning makes the heavy favorite unlikely to lose. That two belts Tapales are holding are non sense in this conversation because we can't make people believe what they don't want to.

Right, that's why Inoue is a complete fighter, if he can't take you with that body shots, it will have a effect on you later as he will soften you up. That's what happen to Butler in their fight, Butler is tough going to almost full round on Inoue, however, that body shots took a toll on him. Maybe that's one strategy of Inoue here to try and test Inoue in the body first. And then go for the chin and test it throughout the fight. Tapales here is really on a dangerous path and we can only imagine how he can beat the Monster at his prime.

A lot of people are busy analyzing this fight. What I expect is both Inoue and Tapales are preparing something not common, especially at the start of the round. I expect Inoue to stay smart and composed. He will use his jab and some combinations but won't exchange with Tapales at the start. Inoue will only start to unleash his deadly attacks once he can find his reach. Tapales is very different from Donaire. He is younger and could be stronger and a little faster than that old version of Donaire. But I doubt Tapales hits harder than Donaire. Although this is 122 and Inoue could get hurt by Tapales' power shots. I believe Sanman is preparing Tapales to be the aggressor but if he cannot do it then they are preparing counter combinations and haymakers when cornered.

He will surely start with attacking the body so his opponent will be focus on defending his body from the solid shots of Inoue. As the fight goes on, that's when Inoue will try to throw some combination that could also hit the chin of his opponent, and because of his quickness, he'll be able to deliver that. Let's look back on his last KO win, Inoue hit Fulton to the body and then to the chin, that ended the fight in round 8.
