0-3? What match is this? I only saw Gakpo play alone in today's match, the rest of the Liverpool players really played badly and did not reflect that they were the favorite club of the champions in this match.

I think Atalanta is a team that is good at Anfield because this is the second time they defeated Liverpool at Anfield back to back, they have shown some quality despite their performance in the Seria A and they are about to eliminate Liverpool because I am sure they will not misuse any chance in their home while playing second leg and three goals is much for Liverpool to level since they were unable to score even a goal in the match.

Leverkusen win their match as expected against West Ham United. This is another good news for Alonso because he has already secured the Bundesliga title, and he is a favorite in the Europa League this season, and if they were able to get to the finals, they can win it.

I cant believe what just see.

Liverpool was totally destroyed by Atalanta, they dont know how to react against the game made by Atalanta, also they were not used to suffer a hard marking, every time a Liverpool player receive an Atalanta player was very close to them.

I dont know what to expect for the second game of this two, but i cant see Liverpool coming back from this, but well Liverpool knows how to do it, just remember the Barcelona game for UCL in Anfield.

I won't say Liverpool can't come back in the second leg by scoring 3 goals or more, but the chances of that are very low. While Atalanta will be very defensive in the second leg, that is a strategy that Gian Piero Gasperini will consider to secure his ticket to the semi-finals. Liverpool wasn't too bad at building attacks, but this was also influenced by Atalanta's tight and well-organized defense.

Milan lost 0-1 at home. Milan can still come back in the second leg because their chances are still high, while Liverpool so far only have a low chance of coming back. I think Liverpool will focus on the Premier League instead of the Europa League, unless Klopp still wants to fight and not give up.

I do tell people the  Europa league is one of  the hardest league's in Europe but some don't agree. In this competition no team is a respecter of the other team not minding how good your performance and position is in your domestic league.

It would be agreed that no one will have expected that Liverpool granting it's performance in the EPL will be losing to Atlanta at home soil Anfield but reality right now is that the visitors are hammering Liverpool 3 goals to nothing.  It's a disappointing result for the English side and I don't think they can get a comeback on this one  as it's 83 mins already played with just 7mins left to full-time whistle.

Jurgen Klopp seemed to underestimate Atalanta a little at first, but he really realized that it was a mistake when Liverpool fell behind 0-1 in the first half. Klopp kept several main players such as Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz because he thought the match could be won easily, but in fact Liverpool certainly conceded 3 goals without being able to score a single goal against Atalanta.

Atalanta played defensively in the second half, but the counter-attack scheme they developed really troubled Liverpool's defense until they conceded 2 more goals in the second half. It is increasingly safe for Atalanta to qualify for the semifinals even though there is a second leg, but an aggregate of 3-0 is good capital to play at home.

That's one of the many blinds with the English club coaches berating their visitors although I don't think pep gardiola will want to do things this way having knowledge of how strong Atlanta is known for their defensiveness which was what Klopp failed to take into account by resting his best players in a first leg game at your home soil where it's expected you have to throw in all the best you got from beginning to end.

Any team with a sturdy defense becomes more harden to get a goal against when they get to score before you. The first goal Atlanta has was a moral boost to them, and with Liverpool coming all out after that one goal Atlanta took the initiative with counterattacks and it all worked out so well for them. At this junction Klopp should focus solely on the EPL title as his hopes for the Europa has been strangled by his own very unfruitful strategy.

I agree that there isn't such thing as favourites will always win. However were you expecting a score like 3-0 at Anfield? I guess you weren't just as me.  

I remember this scenario from their last Champions League meet. Liverpool destroyed them by 5-0 away and Atalanta beat them by 2-0 away too. Do you believe we would see it again? I wouldn't be surprised if this happens. However the Premier League championship is the priority for Liverpool at the moment. As a result it is difficult to trust Liverpool fully to make a comeback in the Europa League now.

At least Klopp will have a rethink the next time he tries to make experiments in crucial games like today's. Players like Gakpo, Tsimikas and Elliot don't even start on regular basis yet he choose to start players that usually play from the bench in a crucial tie. The game was lost long before he made those second half sub to try and remedy the situation.

Liverpool replicating that Barcelona feat is near impossible. I expect Atalanta to put off a really strong performance in Italy — anywhere between 0-1 or even 1-2 with Liverpool winning but Atalanta qualifying.

Big competitions like this come with such surprises, it is normal because it is a competition of teams from different leagues and with different experiences. I know that Liverpool is far better than Atalanta this season, but Atalanta has destroyed Liverpool at Anfield with three away goals in the quarter finals, it is indeed a disappointing performance from the reds and it can be the end to their chance of winning the Europa League since they can’t win Atalanta.

Anfield has always been a stadium that is tough and opponents are always not comfortable while playing there, but Atalanta played there and won two time in row; does it mean that Liverpool is scared of Atalanta? Or it is just a matter of luck since Liverpool is in better performance than Atalanta that is still dragging Europa League spot in the Seria A against next season.

Liverpool have put a lot of gamblers at great loss, because no one expected so see such malfunction in Liverpool team today. I lost some funds but I am OK with it, since I saw the laxity and weakness in Liverpool, which was an advantage for their opponents.

Liverpool defence is weak, and when they concentrate on s c oring, they forget to think about the other side, which is what if Atalanta gets a counter. I couldn't believe that Atalanta took the game very easy and free compare to Liverpool. You will see it in their game pattern and how they scored the three goals, not with shot but the calmness. This was a game in which Milan was seen as the big favorite to win, this is because both are Serie A teams and Milan in Serie A is currently in 2nd position while Roma is in a position outside the 4 places for access to European Champions League, but since Roma hired another coach who replaced Mourinho, they are having good results and in this game Roma showed that they are strong and that next season they could go further. If Roma in the second leg game manage to beat Milan again, then it would be enough for the next opponent to be Atalanta for Roma to have a good chance of winning. unfortunately I saw that Atalanta beat Liverpool

To be honest, I can't understand how the hell Atalanta managed to beat Liverpool and managed to score 3 goals. Atalanta is not a team that is in the top 3 of the Italian league and yet they humiliated a team that is fighting for the premier league title. It honestly seems like the only team worthy of a strong chance in the premier league is Manchester City. I highly doubt that Manchester City would lose to Atalanta, I highly doubt that Manchester City would concede 3 goals if they played against Atalanta. Liverpool need to make certain changes. a team that is fighting for the title being humiliated by Atalanta that is not even fighting for the title in Italy is too shameful

Klopp this season if we are to judge him based on team selection and substitutions made, he has been well above average, and because of that, he will have a high confidence in his ability when making selections because of the success that his previous selections and tactics achieved. Klopp would have had it at the back of his mind that he was making the right choices for this game with team selection, and also to rest his key players who he needs in the EPL, but he got it all wrong today.

Klopp exhausted all his substitutions, but still could not get a goal. Crystal Palace is the team they play next in the EPL, if they loose, they have lost the EPL and almost all the possibility to win it.

Majority of people we’re surprised to see the match ending in a comfortable position for Atlanta, the major thing of surprise was the fact that the humbling was at Anfield, yes football is a game of Loss and win, but not any club can boost to go to Anfield to score three goals. The Anfield is more like a sacred place for an opponent win. Now Atlanta can go home with a comfortable lead. Yes I have seen Liverpool overturn a 3-0 result before In European competition but was done in their own stadium. I doubt the same will happen now away from home.

As for the other game, the other English team Westham also lost to the most inform team in the all of Europe, the game was a great one considering how WestHam defended but another master class by Xabi Alonso changed the score. Alonso brought on both Boniface and Hoffman and they both scored the goals which put Alonso boys in a comfortable position coming to Olympic Stadium.

Things like this do not only happen in the Europa league but also generally in football so am not surprised and besides Atlanta is a good team but although it still has to be placed down that Liverpool didn't play to their expectations at all and the whole team was confuse and lost focus and their playing tactics. If Liverpool goes out of this competition then the likelihood of either Bayern Leverkusen or Roma winning the trophy will be at a huge percentage.

Since Atlanta is under so much pressure from Liverpool, I honestly didn't think they could defeat them, therefore this is an unexpected outcome from Liverpool. Because even when we only consider possession, Liverpool was ahead of them; nonetheless, the fact that Atlanta led in goals and Liverpool only led in possession was a very disappointing outcome for Liverpool. The thing that surprises people the most about Liverpool is that, despite being one of the hardest teams this season, but they made a huge mistake against Atlanta in the Europa League. They greatly disappointed the fans with their poorly performance.

It's a shame. Liverpool shouldn't have lost with a score like that. I think Liverpool is too confident, so they forget an important thing that the slightest mistake can be a good opportunity for their opponents. Meanwhile, Atalanta played very impressively tonight. They really lost badly in possession of the ball, but that doesn't make it difficult for them to create opportunities. This match was beyond everyone's predictions. I'm sure Liverpool's loss in this match caused many gamblers to lose their bets, including me. What kind of a match was this? It's a good thing I stayed away from betting. After Bayern Leverkusen, my favorite team for the quarter-finals was Liverpool and the opponent they defeated was Atalanta, and they conceded three goals. I'm still surprised how this happened. Even though Atalanta had around 30% of the ball throughout the match, they had accurate shots on target in their attacks and today they were very serious.

Liverpool's defense was surprised at what happened, Van Dijk will have a hard time sleeping tonight until he realizes what happened.

Atalanta isn't that top as they used to be in Italy. Just few days ago they were beaten by Cagliari in Serie A and just before they were defeated by Fiorentina in Coppa Italia. Mind you both these teams aren't ok.
Here there is double surprise, the defeat of one of the contenders for the title in their home and the defeat by a large score which is worrying. I wonder what they can do in the second leg in Bergamo!

No doubts as I'm even a victim of the situation Liverpool has cost most gamblers to night. s most of us anticipated a possible win for Liverpool or worse off a draw but then they couldn't even secure a goal and even more to win the game above all the played in their home making it more reasons why they shouldn't have lost without getting a chance to score a goal,  i even thought they were going to win without stressing.

Atlanta made me felt like all the losses and poor perform they had against Weaker teams was just a way of distracting people from their actual abilities and even their performance and so it was the a quiet tough one for Liverpool, just when they must have taught just like most gamblers did that Liverpool was going to win or possibly going to draw them with a good number of goals but then it turned out Liverpool was unable to secure a goal, even if as gamblers you bet that Liverpool was going to get goal or more could actually end up loosing out in their predictions aswell.

The tonight's Liverpool home defeat by Atlanta has left Liverpool with a gigantic task in their next week's second leg game.
This I think is Liverpool's first home defeat since February 2023 if I'm not wrong, and obviously, it was such a humiliating home defeat to the extent that they couldn't even get a single goal at Anfield Station. The lost was as a result of the coach underating the capability of their visitors Atlanta in this game, and Liverpool got a shocken defeat .

I was surprised but after looking at the team that Liverpool used for the match I understood why they lost. It seems that klopp wants to win the premier league and not interested in the Europa cup. This is going to be his last season coaching Liverpool therefore he wants to win the premier league for them but he should be careful before he loses everything. He should not look down on any competitions and play his best in all competition so he can leave Liverpool with silverwares. The premier league is going to be hard for him to win but he could win the Europa cup therefore for the returning leg, he should start a stronger team and try to progress to the next stage of the competition. Liverpool were very poor against Atalanta. It has being long that I saw a club play Liverpool at home to disgrace them.
