This might be one of the most surprising matches of the year for me. Because the results of the match were truly beyond everyone's expectations. There is no doubt that many gamblers lost money on Liverpool's win. But I restrained myself from betting on the match. Because I thought Liverpool are now more busy to win the Premier League title. The other reason can be because Klopp want to rest some of his main key players because his team is also competing for the EPL title. Looking at the starting 11 for the Europa League, I can say that Klopp's main priority is the EPL title.  Maybe he was also thinking that his team will be able to beat Atalanta although without all the best players but unfortunately the decision is not working well and gave him a lose with big goal difference. Although there will be still a chance to make come back in the 2nd leg, but they should do all the best to make it come true.

Totally agreed. One who watched this match live would know how much effort Liverpool made throughout the match. They wasted a lot of chances and Atalanta were having a really great day at the same time.    Klopp's rotating the starting eleven still wasn't an issue for Liverpool. They weren't having problems with creating opportunities to score goals.

I also believe that there is still hope for Liverpool. Do you remember their matches against Atalanta in the group stage of the 2020/2021 season? A 5-0 away win by Liverpool and Atalanta to win by 2-0 away later.    Maybe Liverpool might repeat this who knows...

Practically Liverpool will not qualify if in the second leg they do not score 3 more goals because Atalanta beat them with a difference of 3 goals at Anfield. Something terrible happened last night and no one expected Liverpool to lose at home so easily. Can't just explain what went wrong with the Liverpool team because they were the favourites. I might agree that they underrated Atalanta that was why key players like Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson and Luis Diaz were kept at the beach at the beginning of the game. Liverpool took total control of the game but we're wasteful in the attack and the main culprit is Darwin Núñez. I suspect Jurgen Klopp is more focused on the Premiership and didn't field his best when he realized that Atalanta was performing more than he expected he introduced more players but it was become late.

Liverpool has past records of overturning large goal deficits but it will be a difficult task. The task is even more difficult with the fact that they are going to play in Gewiss Stadium, with the home fans. The Italian side might maintain their defensive and counterattacking style of play in the second leg and it will be difficult for Liverpool to score more than one goal. which surprised many fans because Liverpool is one of the favorite teams because their performance is quite stable. but in a match like that it can't be predicted. Maybe losing by 1 goal to Atalanta is still acceptable, but losing by 3 goals without reply even when they really dominated the match, is very disappointing.
even after Klopp's efforts to replace several players by including Salah, Jota and Diaz. it doesn't change the results. TBH, I was one of the bettors who was shocked and didn't expect a surprise to happen with Liverpool defeat and actually this was all my own fault, who initially didn't really believe in Liverpool but insisted on betting on their win.
Liverpool disappointed many people in yesterday's match even though some already understand that there are always surprises in every match but actually it doesn't make sense when I start to doubt a little when Salah is not the starting player in the match but I am just being positive and believe that it is just a strategy which is different and will make a strong attack in the second half and unfortunately Atalanta knows this strategy so they can beat it easily and score 3 scores without any resistance from Liverpool.

What happened in leg 1 may actually help them in their quest to win the Premier League. It's already tough competing in both tournaments so maybe Klopp should take this opportunity. The drawback is that he'll be ridiculed for leaving the tournament early but the fans may accept it if they win in the second leg.

Probably EL has never attracted so much attention, and all because one of the favorites lost. It is clear that if they lose, Klopp will concentrate on the Premier League, but I am sure that he simply did not think that Atalanta could be so strong. Liverpool coach is the responsible for the failure of Liverpool game yesterday because he bench the talent players not to play the first half to make people think that without those players Liverpool can succeed any competition.

 But what happened in the first half that made Atalanta to secured 1 goal to weaken the strength of Liverpool, and they take a good side of the game through out the 45 minutes, and use the second half to secured 2 goals to beat Liverpool 3:0.

 I guess many people bet for the favour of Liverpool, and they all lose their money because Atalanta players came with full force to use Liverpool like weak team for not allowed them to score a single goal.
