The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Some Updates:

They are all day long online but not Responding via E-Mail, Skype or Support Ticket. So there will be no possibility to recover the already mined BTC. I think they have been "gone".
So in my opinion this is a scam/fraud pool with a robber as owner.

I get them 48 hours to answer via one channel but nothing happened. I think everyone is a bit pissed now.

What is curious: one week ago skype showed them from russia, not it shows them from swiss. Maybe i will make a journey to them (it only takes 2-4 hours to get there) and talk to them face to face.

I don't like to go to any government, but it looks like the only solution to get something back (even when it is 50 % of what i've mined).
I already talked to a lawyer of the state and he confirmed that what they've done is fraud/robbery (he is a friend).

I will aslo post you now the Chat History before the Update on their Website came online:

This post confirms it for me. Their goal is not to communicate or reassure its workers that they will be reimbursed for withheld coin, but to ensure THEY can bring the service back and start earning money again. Personally my losses are minimal (~0.8BTC) but naturally am concerned that such a high valued and well respected pool can turn rogue in such a short space of time. I guess it shows that greed, in certain people, will always overpower loyalty.

...on a side note, with my experience and knowledge of domain hosting as well as tools available to me in the telecoms and hosting industry, i'll certainly be attempting to uncover the real registrar of the 50BTC domain; any findings (providing it doesnt violate forums rules) will be shared for everyones perusal.

Not advocating one way or the other, but out of curiosity I mined .01BTC there yesterday and withdrew it successfully (although it took ~8 hours from the time I did the manual withdraw to the time it showed up)

A lot of you might want to think carefully about whether those really are double-digit numbers of bitcoins the site claims you had.

As others have pointed out, the database on their site is corrupted, and some say 10000x figures are being shown.

Unless you were mining in late 2010 or early 2011 in a quite serious manner, or mining more recently with extremely huge mining rig arrays, then I don't see how you'd even have 10 BTC. And if you were leaving so much BTC on a pool well that is just bad practice. IIRC this pool encourage / had enabled by default autopayouts. So you are kind of to blame if you were using it like a bank and actually did have whole integer values of coins on the site...

I think even when it is 0,001 BTC which they are holding.
They hold it and people have mined it and want their money. After a very long time of abstinence they are not ready for communication with "their customers".
And that is really not okay.

After they registered that some people will involve the Governments they reactet. Sorry i can't believe in a hacker anymore. It looks like a big scam/fraud operation from the owners.

I had 2 Avalons mining on there since the day Yifu finally delivered. 176BTC was mined total... I lost 91.

Needs to hire people to search for pool owners, after not explain in a tolerant form of these owners do that so bad, without recourse to the police.

Respectfully, this sort of anonymity is kind of the "point" of Bitcoin and I doubt anyone at all is going to get any traction by talking about 'going to the police', nor will it be taken seriously even if you could find people.

Secondarily, the chances of some of these run-offs being involved in organized crime and money laundering is "significantly high".

These coins are gone, gone, gone; and ANY pool operator can and will get away with this sort of thing if they try. And chances are, people will come right back to mining after it happens. This is likely WHY some pools charge 0% fees. They aren't doing it for charity. This was likely 50btc's "endgame" from day 1: Build trust, and then run right when the price was high. Rebooting the site carries zero risk for them and 100% chance of additional coins under their purview.

I've lost a good number of BTC to several pools (early on, 2011 or such) closing down overnight. Unfortunately this is a risk calculation that everyone has to make. There is ZERO assurance that ANY pool (even Slush's - though I doubt it, since the 'slow way' to get BTCRich is to run a pool with a modest fee and take your time) - won't take your coins and run.

Yeah I have this 2% hope that 50btc will do something for its previous miners that it lost took the coins from.  But I have no realistic hope of that ever happening. And as is usual, many people will go right back to mining there again, and be shocked, shocked I tell you - when they do this again.

It'd be great to see a community developed accountability method for pools, but I don't know what that would be.

Hello,

According to information that we have: Your account registration date is 02.16.2013

According to data that you have provided:

On the old system you had 3 workers:

Worker 1: 2 x AMD ATI Radeon 7950 GhZ Edition
Worker 2: 2 x AMD ATI Radeon 7970 GHZ Boost Edition
Worker 3: 6 x FPGA Miner with X6500 Rev 3

Worker 1 estimated speed = 1 Gh/s
Worker 2 estimated speed = 1.2 Gh/s
Worker 3 estimated speed = ~2.3 Gh/s

Sum = 4.5 Gh/s

Estimated speed is calculated based on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison and http://store.fpgamining.com/products/x6500-rev3

Reward was calculated with http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator reward calculator.

08/03 - 08/13     37392766   0.67 BTC
08/13 - 08/24     50810339   0.48 BTC
08/24 - 09/04     65750060   0.34 BTC

10/06 - 10/16     189281249   0.12 BTC

Sum = 47.56 BTC

Thus, obviously based on this data your balance can’t be 71 BTC, as you mentioned, even if you never withdraw your funds and all your workers were mining 24x7 without any downtime.

Currently we’re trying really hard to recover from the attack and develop a new stable and secure system. And instead of this we’re wasting our time on this blackmail.

Sum = 4.5 Gh/s

Estimated speed is calculated based on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison and http://store.fpgamining.com/products/x6500-rev3

Reward was calculated with http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator reward calculator.

Mining dates     Difficulty      Reward
02/16 - 02/18     3275465      1.4 BTC
02/18 - 03/01      3651012      7.5 BTC
03/01 - 03/14     4367876      7.2 BTC
03/14 - 03/24     4847647      5.3 BTC

06/29 - 07/11     21335329   1.25 BTC
07/11 - 07/22     26162876   1 BTC
07/22 - 08/03     31256961   0.86 BTC
08/03 - 08/13     37392766   0.67 BTC
08/13 - 08/24     50810339   0.48 BTC
08/24 - 09/04     65750060   0.34 BTC
09/04 - 09/14     86933018   0.26 BTC
09/14 - 09/25     112628549   0.22 BTC
09/25 - 10/06     148819200   0.16 BTC
10/06 - 10/16     189281249   0.12 BTC

Sum = 47.56 BTC

Regards, 50BTC.com team

I can only say, what was standing in my account and i quoted my full post to them.

It can be / is right what they calculated, but if, then the website earlier showed wrong funds.

Do my calculations and check out my old account information. I am entitled to way more than 7 bitcoins which is all I'm asking. I am providing 40-50gh at the moment on your pool just to support you.
