You can still engage in gambling when all your work is finished, or that means when you go home and you can gamble at home in a relaxed and calm situation. Indeed, there can be a lot of "reasons" for justifying their behavior, gambling or drinking alcohol or taking drugs at work, but we all know, you just shouldn't do those things at work, that's all. You are paid for doing something and you should do what you are paid for. Those are the reasons i am not playing while working. In fact i rather not play if i haven't mentally prepared for it. For the losses and wins. Because those are very distracting and i have already hard time focusing on things i should prioritize in my life. My life is one constant look for distraction, so i need less of it, not more. Especially when it's so rewarding it's hard for me to think anythnig else.

So, while working, i often keep noise cancelling headphones. Block my changes to login to any social media. My friends know i can't be disturbed while on the flow of work, because i get so much done when i am not disturbed and on the "flow". But all it takes is one distraction and it can take hours to get back into it. And even if i would bet on the lunch, i would probably wonder how that match is going that i bet on, or what my next steps are going to be for the money i lost or won.

I've tried several times but I would say it's just a casual gamble. Before I started working from home I do have a huge circle of friends in our company who shared the same passion for playing MOBA games. Every lunch time we put bets playing with each other. I don't dwell to much when losing since I find it fun and the bet is not something that is significant. I think the impact of gambling while at work depends on the amount of you have put while gambling, but if you'll just do it for fun and a little thrill it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Even if you have any access to gambling sites, and if you are responsible, you will not do that thing especially since it is prohibited and included in the rules and regulations of the company. Not always the case really, sometimes you can have a job with less responsibility and be paid way more.

It all depends on the amount of value you bring to the company.

So, for example, if you make the company millions of dollars for your direct job, then you will be paid a lot of money for it.

All these crucial jobs are not free because behind it is a significant salaries to be earned by an individual and the job also comes with a whole lot of stressing actions which is expected of the employer in question to do his job, secure and satisfied whatever needs that arises before paving path to settle for other priorities drawn out of his schedule for the days and that also include gambling. If this is a big deal with the company, this should not be done. Gambling during at work can be easily violated if the company doesn't have the internal control to prevent this from happening. I think all companies will never allow their employees to do other activities during working hours, let alone being involved in gambling or what I mean by the  activity they do is gambling during working hours, and it is clear that that will cause quite significant problems. Firstly, they lose concentration  on their main job because their minds are diverted to gambling, and secondly, it is very possible that they are not in the mood to continue working when the results of their gambling disappoint them and make them annoyed. Basically, it is difficult to regulate people to follow the rules if it is just a theory, and one thing that companies  can do to minimize this from happening is to implement full supervision while work activities are in progress, or for example installing CCTV in various corners, of course. It can make gamblers not dare to do other activities during working hours, especially gambling.

As I said above, it is difficult to control other people for companies, especially employees who work and you have also said that companies cannot easily assume that all their employees do not gamble, but the possibility is always there.
