One  major thing most investors has  fail to understand is that, greed is never a good thing,  especially in this crypto industry,  almost all  veterans investors knows that when it comes to digital currencies, Bitcoin is second to none, but due to greedy of making 10x to 100x, they will still go ahead and invest in shit coin without taking into consideration the risk attached to it, they gambles with their hard earned money, even when they know how risky it is, some of them don't even know that investing in shit coin or alt are just like gambling, which the possibilities of them losing their hard earned money, is far greater than the possibilities of them making something out of it.

Secondly, most newbies investors that falls for this, are mostly misinformed, they were mostly told the juicy part of it, which is the 10x to 100x, but they weren't told how risky it is to invest in shit coin, until that greedy aspect of most investors are corrected, I Believe that the only way they can learn is on their own terms, which is learning it the hard way, when they have lost all their funds.

It's very unfortunate how some individuals get caught up with the unrealistic and fake promises that all these Altcoins & shitcoins offers. I wonder why some folks  are persuaded  by such kind of scenario. Before investing our funds it necessary to gether information about such investments. Why will an investor see Bitcoin which is a already established assets with reliable track record, growth potential, global adoption, high demand in the market and commanding a significant value. Some  Individuals will see all these characteristics possessed by bitcoin, whhich offers good profit but  rather be persuaded by unrealistic promises  and fake gains altcoins and shitcoins offers.

Brother, do not be surprised, we are all humans, and greed is part of humans lives, just that as an investor that really want to make it in this crypto industry, greed is one thing that should be avoided by all means, because and quite positive that almost all veterans investors knows that Bitcoin is the most reliable asset, but due to greedy of 10x to 100x, they still go ahead and invest their hard earned money on alt or shit coin that always leads to significant losses.

Yes humans are insatiable that's why no one get enough of himself because even the richest is still making more investments that will fetch him more money but let's forget about the rich people in our society because some of them do gamble their money on other coins so if someone who is still struggling for survival follows the footsteps of the rich, then he is likely to make wrong decisions and run into losses whereas the rich people don't care about the kind of risk they take as they just feel that what would be would be. If we all can forget about quick profits and greed and think more about how huge our investments will be in time coming, we have every possibility to make it in our investments in Bitcoin.

Just a while ago, I was seating down and having a good time with few of my friends that are also into the crypto industry, we were just sharing ideas while having a good time, I was talking Bitcoin and how it's one of the best time to buy now due to it recent decline in price, when one of them interrupted me and said something that makes me believe that greed is the brain behind those investing in shit coin, he said this and I quote, guy, how much do you expect to make investing in Bitcoin when it can't give you the least 2x, where the real money are, are in the alt and shit coin, because it gives you 10x plus in the nearest future, and I was like, do this guy even work for this money he wanted to gamble? My only response to him was, you already knows that Bitcoin is the most reliable crypto asset, but you still choose to gamble on shit coin,  so you need no convincing, but you will surely learn the hard way, so the essence of all this is that greed is what makes people, especially those that are aware of it risk, still invest in shit coin.

Some people are just so adamant about trading or investing on shitcoins simply because they feel that they can make quick money just within a short period without considering the high risks involved. Even if bitcoin gives x2 of your capital you invested with which can be more than that depending on how long you HODL before selling but we should also understand that if a Bitcoin investor accumulate like $50k worth of Bitcoin in 10 years and was able to get $100k to $150k isn't that a huge amount of money? The problem most investors has is impatience, they will begin to analyze and find it difficult to invest and wait for that long intervals before taking their profits. As Bitcoin investors our target should be more of having a huge stash of Bitcoin and shouldn't depend so much on the price of Bitcoin even though the price should also be put into consideration for someone who has HODL for a long term and decides to sell part of his Bitcoin.

I don't actually agree with your -13.8% because the risk is far higher than that. Perhaps you have not invested in a shitcoin that died and became totally worthless, else you will known that the percentage is far higher than what you posted.

And going dead or catastrophic loss should have way higher odds more than 0.5 if am not been bias

As I said, it is impossible to calculate the actual number, or at least it would be incredibly time consuming since it will require the analysis of every single shitcoin out there, its daily behavior and the profits or losses given on every single time frame on existence.

My point was to try to give it an approximate number, so newbies out there which hear all the time that shitcoins are bad, get a rough idea of how bad they can be, as losing 13.8% of the money invested in one of those shitcoins is already bad enough, as a person can go bankrupt by investing in just a handful of those coins, however it is entirely possible, and even likely, that the actual number is higher than that as both of you claim.

They don't have to compare Bitcoin and altcoin because that have different ways. If Bitcoin can be a long term investment, altcoin can be a short term and middle term investment. But they will determines by themselves and no use to tells them that Bitcoin will be the best investment for us because they will have their own opinion.

The important thing that we must tell to them are every investment will have its own risks. We must be careful to decide which investment type we want to choose. That is why we must learn about the risks and many things so we understand how to pick the right investment for us.

Altcoins may be a good investment for you but for me I can never consider to leave Bitcoin and invest in any altcoins or shitcoins because I can't invest in a coin that has a higher risk of losing my money in a blink, altcoins are too risky so it is better to invest in an asset that has cleared the doubt of many over the years and Bitcoin is that coin. There's something some people don't get about bitcoin investment, Bitcoin is an asset that has stood the test of time, it is reliable, safer, easier and affordable by applying the DCA which gives the ease to be investing a portion of your income from time to time without being under pressure of any kind as your most targets is accumulating a huge amount of Bitcoins for long term profits so it's as simple as that instead of investing on those coins that has no future as they can pump and dump at any period of time and you lose all your investments.

Whenever people talk about investing on altcoins I do laugh because most of the people that invest in altcoins are newbies who are just new in the crypto space but as soon as reality happens to them and they lose all their money they begin to cry and feel bad about it. Any one who have witnessed the story of some folks who invested large amount of money on altcoins and they were scammed because the coin just dumped immediately after they invested in it, you will understand that Bitcoin is surely the right investments anyone can think of. I have come to understand that the reason why some investors do consider some altcoins is because they spend most of their time monitoring the activities of the market and when they see that a particular coin rose to ×100 to x1000 they raise their eyebrows and feels that such coin is good to invest in but at last they still lose their money.

Altcoins don't act like Bitcoin that it's dump is an opportunity for investors to buy at a DIP price before the price skyrockets as in most cases when an altcoin starts dumping, it's for real and due to the fear of not selling at a lost price most people that invest in it end up losing everything. I was lucky to have been advised earlier by a relative who lost about $5k on altcoins which is a huge amount when converted to my country's currency, he advised me that I shouldn't be enticed by the huge pump of some altcoins that I should only focus my energy on Bitcoin because he has been a big time victim to altcoins and he wouldn't like anyone close to him to experience same thing he did. Ever since he gave me that advice I have always sticked to Bitcoin alone and I can never consider investing on any damn fucking altcoins or shitcoins other than Bitcoin.

We know that bitcoin is volatile but the volatility of altcoin can't be compared with bitcoin hence is possible of losing its value at any given time and anymore moments.

I will never support investment in altcoins because I have seen the risk involved which to me should be avoided. COme to think of it, I think you are mixing up something which make your entire comment sound like equivocation. How do you place altcoins and investment side by side when we know that anything other than bitcoin is very risky. Secondly, at what point do you think we can call an altcoin shitcoin because you did not provide a guideline on how to measure the reputation of the altcoins.

Altcoins don't act like Bitcoin that it's dump is an opportunity for investors to buy at a DIP price before the price skyrockets as in most cases when an altcoin starts dumping, it's for real and due to the fear of not selling at a lost price most people that invest in it end up losing everything. I was lucky to have been advised earlier by a relative who lost about $5k on altcoins which is a huge amount when converted to my country's currency, he advised me that I shouldn't be enticed by the huge pump of some altcoins that I should only focus my energy on Bitcoin because he has been a big time victim to altcoins and he wouldn't like anyone close to him to experience same thing he did. Ever since he gave me that advice I have always sticked to Bitcoin alone and I can never consider investing on any damn fucking altcoins or shitcoins other than Bitcoin.

There is a popular phrase people using in my city especially when they want to advice a stubborn person and that is "experience is the best teacher". If you read it for what it is, you will not get the true meaning because it is figurative and the true meaning is like telling the person he will learn the hard and bitter way since he has refused to take instructions. This is the same statement I am using for those who are bent on investing in shitcoins because a lot have already been said about the dangers of such actions, maybe when they lose their funds they will learn.

I think 99% of discussion about  crypto investment in this thread is about bitcoin as the best cryptocurrency to invest on. Any newbie that is wise enough would be able to make the good choice of choosing bitcoin after reading all that have been elaborated on this thread. Seeing how some users come here to talk and want to paint altcoins in a way that it should look attractive is very laughable because altcoins has no long time plan investment lifespan, they are known for pump and dump, rug pulls, and exit scam etc that's why people won't stop losing money with them.

However, that doesn't mean that Altcoins are a bad choice, there are times when Altcoins can produce much bigger profits, but again, as I said earlier, everything depends on the risk and what you need to know is that every possible profit will be worth it with all the risks involved faced.

If the value of a coin is lost after a long -term holding, that is worthless and kill time. In investors will face financial loss. Bitcoin is the only coin where an investor may not benefit in the short term, but he must get big returns in the long run. In the case of Bitcoin, if we see a new height every four years, it will definitely make profit. But there is no guarantee in the Altcoin. Moreover, there is no limit for altcoins and this type of coin is increasing everyday. So to keep investment safe, there is no alternative to invest in bitcoin. It is best to hold Bitcoin according to the ability. According to the condition of the market and depending on the investors ability, if anyone invested in Bitcoin by doing regular DCA, he will be profitable with in few years.

The only altcoin that do not have the chances of loosing value are mostly some of the top altcoins we already have in the market. Anything more than those, get to be under probability while investing, that doesn't keep the investor at peace because he never knows if the altcoin could worth more while holding or reduce to a point where even recovering back the invested amount is impossible. Bitcoin offers this comfort, no matter the price reduction, there will definitely be a good bull run and profits is made.

Profits do not only depend on the kind of strategy used, DCA or not as long we buy and hold Bitcoin, we must make profits by the end.

Alternate cryptocurrency is a good investment but it must be in a reportable coins otherwise any shitcoin that doesn't possess the quality of can be easily a waste of investment such as newly listed tokens in the market, that is why many people prefer using their hard earned money to invest into bitcoin to secure their investment. Would agree with you if other coins were guaranteed to recover like bitcoin. From this point of view, all coins except Bitcoin fail. I would vote for it as it is not recommended to invest in alternative cryptocurrencies (Shitcoin or other cryptos) in such a situation. If one wants to invest in alternative cryptos he can do it from his personal advice, in case he suffers loss then he will be responsible for his own loss, no second party will be held responsible here. If you advise someone to invest in alternative cryptos, you will be responsible for their profits and losses. Even if you make a profit, you will bear the liability, even if you lose, you will bear the liability. I think no one would ever want to cause harm to anyone.

Investing in Shitcoins or alternative cryptos I see as gambling and I do not support gambling at all. Because, there is no guarantee of profit in short term or long term investment in these coins. Sometimes you will gain a lot and sometimes you will lose everything.

Bitcoin can guarantee you this. Bitcoin may not make you much profit in long term investment, but you are guaranteed to be profitable. No matter how you invest in Bitcoin, if you hold for the long term, you are guaranteed to make a profit. As a strategy, I prefer the DCA approach, as it always offers buying opportunities. I would advise everyone to move away from short-term investing and start profiting through long-term bitcoin investing.
