Atalanta broke my heart. Not that I'm a fan or I place a bet on them. I just wanted them to win because of my homeboy Lookman but they messed up big time.

So I went back to check the champions league standings. Atalanta and AC Milan both finished 9th and 13th position respectively on the table and they were knocked out by Club Brugge (24th), the last on the playoff spot and Feyenoord (19th). This year's champions league is really interesting and we are seeing many surprises.

I think we are going to see a lot more similar surprises, more underdogs still in the tournament as it progresses through the knockout stages. What we saw tonight was probably just a sneak pick of what is going to happen ahead.

No one seems to be safe. Whether playing at home or a way. If there's anything I have seen with the underdog. They play with their hearts out. There's no fear.

What an evening we got.
Unexpected defeats for Milan and Atalanta.
Both teams were better than their opponents but knocked out from the cl.
3-3 for Benfica and the game is still ongoing.

AC Milan played quite well in this match, but when Theo Hernandez was sent off their game became more unstable due to the lack of one player. It is very unfortunate that AC Milan was eliminated early even though they are a big team with many quality players in their team.
The same goes for Atalanta because they were also eliminated early even though their performance was also very good but they lost control when Talbi scored a quick goal in this match. There is no strength in terms of defense making Club Brugge freely attack them.

I am more impressed with the excellent performance shown by Bayern Munich because they fought with all their might until in the final minutes they were able to ensure themselves to qualify for the next round. Bayern dominated this match well, they recorded a lot of attacks but unfortunately Harry Kane could not perfect it into a goal.

With or without the Red card that was given to the Milan player I think feyernoord deserved the kind of results that they got today because even before Milan got the red card Milan was struggling in front of goals and in finishing and feyernoord was more resolute and played with all level of seriousness and looked more hungry in the game it was showing that they mean business coming into the game

 I watched the "vs City" game though but I felt City had luck on their side then with what they played (just full of posession).
They Brugge did prove their worth this evening, atalanta almost catched up aswell but lookman fvked up even though he had a goal for the team, does not really matter anyway  as they need at least 5 goals to 3 for a win  ..

This UCL format is actually the great litmus test. Funny how Ac Milan get dropped by Feyenoord and Atalanta get knocked out by club Brugge, also Celtic was very close to going into extra time with ultimate Bayern Munich.
Honestly it was a very interesting collection of matches today, filled with goals and drama especially the Benfica and Monaco match that saw Benfica going to the next round.

Hey guy! Do you know who to blame? Atlanta coach - Gasperini should be blamed for Atlanta lose and not Lookman. Lookman played only 45mins, scored a goal and was rated 8.1 despite losing the match. Lookman was introduced 46min and scored immediately he entered. Lookman scored another goal around 58mins but was ruled offside by VAR. Then he missed a penalty, which I supposedly he was the one that won the PK and eventually missed. Meanwhile, Atlanta was 3 goals down before he was introduced. My question is, why keep someone like Lookman on bench in such a crucial match. Was he unfit or recovering from injury? If non of the above reasons, I won't forgive the coach.

Indeed it was hell of a night with surprises! 

I really wonder how Milan managed to get themselves out of the Champions League this early. I mean against Feyenoord, for real? 

Atalanta were even a bigger surprise as they lost by 3-1 home... The match ended in the 1st half already. Gasperini really gave up on the Champions League this easy?

It's really embarrassing to know that the two Italian clubs in the champions league have been eliminated this early from the UCL with just Juventus to represent.

Atalanta conceding 3 goals in a row at home ground from a side as Club Brugge makes me to question the integrity of their defense and what could have gone wrong that they had to play so so underwhelmingly. I think the absence of Ademola Lookman could have also added to their lack of goals in this game. Now they can direct all energy to the domestic league and  achieve a feat there.

Very interesting results today. Feyenoord's qualification was really surprising. It wouldn't have happened if Milan hadn't been down to 10 men. Celtic fought well but couldn't finish. They didn't last 1 more minute. I know how good Club Brugge are, so I'm not surprised that they made it through. Atalanta are also very good this season but now they have to focus on the league.
I'm glad Benfica made the round and Orkun and Kerem are advanced. Today they both scored goals and they were the ones who brought the round. Even without Di Maria, Benfica's offense was at a high level.

It's football, the failure of AC Milan is like an accident with a red card of Theo, but a big defeat of Atalanta is very surprsing. They are able to beat Brugge but it's football and by letting Brugge score first, Atalanta fall into a big disadvantage situation and they collapsed after that. In football, collapses like this can happen sometimes and today it happens with Atalanta.

Three favorite team AC Milan, Atalanta and Bayern Munich who overall played at home but they were really bad and couldn't bring winning, AC Milan and Atalanta failed to enter the next round and only Bayern Munich could qualify because of the advantage from the first match.

This is a surprise that happened but I do not think too much because Atalanta's problem is not being able to maintain consistent performance and on the other hand Club Brugge is very observant in taking advantage of opportunities from their counterattacks.

It's really stupid what both Toloi and Hernandez did which resulting in red card, both Atalanta and Milan played good, but they focus in shots more than finding the right time to shots.

But, it just really not expected Feyenoord and Club Brugge can won.

For the next 4 match, it seems the big teams will qualify to the next round, Juventus is way more stronger than PSV if we look on the past history.

If not for Davies late goals which came up at the dying minute of the game which made Bayern Munich with win with a 3-2 aggregate Bayern Munich would have been forced to go to extra time which would have been a different game entirely, it was really a surprising game yesterday I never believe Bayern Munich will struggle to qualify to the next round of the UEFA Champions league against club like Celtic though no team should be underated.

When Club Brugge won their first leg of the match, many people were saying it was by luck.
