Yes, oddmakers just make those odds based on what they believe people will bet on, it is not really about who will win, it's about the bet sizes. I mean in theory, in almost all games ever, the potentially winner side will get the most bets, hence why they get odds like 1.40 or 1.70 whatever, and the losing side or at least underdogs get odds that are 3.00 or higher.

I think a lot of us are not so much watching the one goal advantage and the away goal advantage as you mentioned, but at how Manchester City is presenting itself in the eye of trouble. Or when there is no trouble, but how they get themselves into it in almost every game. This is where I think Real Madrid, despite being anything but perfect, is far ahead and has around a 70% chance to advance to the next round because they can play the game whatever way they prefer.
