I was going to say this. The mentality is a huge part of the problem. Our ex players do not want to invest in Nigerian sports. What they don’t realize is that there is more money to be made at home than abroad. Football is more popular in Nigeria than in the USA. If Jay Jay Okocha for example had used his influence in football to bring investors into the Nigerian league, the NPFL would have improved significantly and they would have gotten a good return on their investment. It would have also improved the economy of the country, it’s a better investment than advertising for gambling casinos after retirement.

I'd say the probable reason for the lack of interest to invest and bolster our sports might be due to the government. Such an investment, no matter how you look at it is huge and you have to be really careful about it because while you might have good intentions, government can just come in and shatter your plans. This has happened plenty of times in other sectors, I don't know if it happens in the sports sector but we can't deny the possibility.

There might be other reasons too that may not be visible to us looking at it from the outside.

our environment and government don't favour a lot of investment ideas and these ex players knows this and that's why most of them are reluctant to invest in grassroot football. With the way youths of our country are interested in football, you already have the market and only need the right concept in place and you will see youths that will take thier career in football seriously.

The mini competition we do see occasionally accross NPFL and other sub leagues are under invested into and when you even compair some basic games in south African leagues ranging from thier university games to thier local leagues, it shows how superior they are and how much they've invested in Thier local leageu. If at least we have a channel that shows NPFL games on DS TV or gotv, that would been a good place to start and it would have sent a signal that we're ready for something serious. I think some of them already have academy that's up and running but might just need to collaborate with themselves and have league games that's well organized and that's favourable for outsiders to look into and consider investing in.

Nigerian State Governor ls should develop their stadiums to the international standard so that most of these games will be played close to us so we that can't travel to far place can visit the stadium when it is close to us. The whole country it is Akwa Ibom Stadium is the Standard for CAF/FIFA. So all international games plays there.

The only thing we have for the super eagles team is best wishes because the coach did well in their last game and has been planing to give us an outstanding performance at home, the super eagles of Nigeria have no reason to lose or draw this match due to how inconsistent they have been in their group, they need every points to qualify because it will be a shameful thing if the Super Eagle of Nigeria were eliminated in the AFCON qualifiers.

Lets talk about the players and their individual performance in their respective clubs; I must say that they are all doing very well especially Victor Boniface, Ademola Lukman, Kelvin Bassy, Ndidi, Onyeka and others, they are currently having a fantastic season with injury free, and most of these players are starters in their team. The players and the coach need to have good understanding so that they can team-up to help the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

It a good thing to see Samuel chukwueze report to camp on time this time around, there was a complain the last international break that he is found of always reporting late to camp. It a big blow we don't have Victor Osimehn in the group this time around and we all know how Victor Boniface is always struggling when he comes back for international break, let hope he finds the back of the net for us this time around, the selections are a good one and most of the boys are really doing well in their clubs so we  think we should have a good game.

Lookman has been in an incredible foam so I think he is one player to watch out for and also with Osimehn not around Boniface should definitely step up for us, Ndidi is also in a very good foam and we all know how good he is technically and physically. So let hope for a good game.

That will be there first weakness because I'm sure by now they must have been very scared of those our international players because they are highly experience for the Libya team and besides Libya is not much of a club nature, which is why there players are very rare in the international league that's if there is any, though is not that they are that bad but for now the supper eagles has more of a reliable players than them, so when they would see Lookman, Boniface and so other important players the fear alone will even make them to start having lack of confident in the ball.

In terms of building a standard stadium, actually it would have been nice to have it on several states so that the concentration will not just be at one so that they would also spread out there matches and from there it will enable those that always find it difficult to travel in terms of watching the match to easily watch it from there end.

Due to the lack of interest of our government towards our sports industries, many talents have been swept under the carpet because of that. If our government had been in support of sports from day one, I believe many of the Nigerian players residing abroad would have loved to come back home and invest in our local leagues because they believed that there are many talented players who the world doesn't know of. What they need is to support and showcase them to the outside world. You will see how they will excel and make good names for themselves.

The sports industry is a good business for any government or private firm that chooses to move towards that area. In Nigeria as a whole, there are hidden talented players in most cities and villages. It's about discovering them on time, to nurture and train them. The end product of what they will become is always magnificent and will attract huge investors who will buy the players off the market.

The likes of Kanu Nwakwo, Kelechi Ihenacho, Okocha, Taiwo, Mikel, and so many other players I can't recall were all discovered in local leagues by someone who saw the potential in them to be great players.

What I am trying to say is that our government can do better in our sporting industry, than giving it less attention as something irrelevant to the growth of the country.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria squad that's preparing to face Libya in my own opinion is the perfect team they can possess at the moment. Most of the players listed above are in top form in their different clubs which I think is an added advantage to the team because the national teams they'll playing against in the next 7 days doesn't possess such quality players. I'll be looking forward to the games so I can see if they'll be able to make a good use of the experienced players in the team.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria squad that's preparing to face Libya in my own opinion is the perfect team they can possess at the moment. Also, Libya coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri, is concerned about the game because he knows Nigeria is a team that is boiling, not just with passion, but with passion. And he needs Libya to win this match so he will get his first win as a manager in the qualification fixture. What I find interesting is that AFCON '94 winner, Victor Ikpeba, has predicted the game between the Super Eagles and Libya.

Victor talked about the difference in the quality of the team and said it's not that Libya's effort or their professionalism is to be questioned, but the criticism the Nigerian team got when they lost in the FIFA World Cup qualification against Benin Republic will fuel them to do their best. I believe that aside from coming to camp early and training early, you can see the hunger to succeed in them and it will push Super Eagles to the next level.

In 2 days my country will play against Eswatini, this will be a very important game for my country, we will be playing at home and we will need to win because later we will play at Eswatini's home ground, which we will also need to win. Although Eswatini has not beaten any team, we cannot underestimate them because they will come to play with motivation, because they thought that my country's team is weak given the terrible past we have in football. If we can win in 2 days and win the second leg, we will be well positioned for the remaining 2 games, 2 draws would be enough to have had a good campaign in this phase.



I'm thinking about putting my country in my multibet bet. I've already seen some good games to bet on but I'm still going to analyze more. I see for example Tunisia winning, Ivory Coast also winning, Egypt also winning, Algeria winning and also Nigeria winning.

When the camp is filled with happiness and chemistry between the players and the coach are good, I don't see why we wouldn't win our games. I suspect that the players show more respect to Augustine Eguavoen than George Finidi. It might be because of age, experience or cordial relationship with the players. Finidi had to go through so many challenges with the players, and it affected the team negatively. Under his watch, the Super Eagles have not lost any game, but the match between the Super Eagles and the Mediterranean Knights will determine if his contract will be extended or if the NFF will keep on searching for a replacement.

The two foreign coaches who impacted positively in the history of the Nigerian National team are Clemens Westerhof and Jo Bonfrère. These two coaches believed in the home base and combined them with the foreign base to get good results. Besides them, other coaches contributed nothing outstanding to the team. So am supporting the idea of settling for a qualified local coach.

I think there could be more factors that contributed to why our players will want to be late to training. However, there is one thing I know Nigerians are good in very well, African time is what many of us are used to otherwise I don't think a player that is internationally trained will decide to show Nigerian altitude when it's time for training, it's probably what the NFF is doing is what the are portraying anytime they comes for Nigeria match.

Another could be poor road networking, I was following Sarki FOTO and Pooja complaining traveling many states to capture NFF when they want to train, they have to travel many states before they reach training camp and the road network is bad and that's because it's not all place airport is functioning and I believe it's the same if players want to go to training anytime from their hotels.
