Joke of the day right there. What's he questioning them for? Did he think he's worth any appreciation with the emotional stress he put people through. Does anybody have his AFCON stats because I can remember not following whatever he did because of his constant misses at Chelsea.

He shouldn't bother because assuming he was on the list, he still has no chance of winning not when he has so many negative PR because of his misses. Chelsea would had been better off than where they're now (Conference league) if Jackson converted half of his missed chance.

Glad he wasn't nominated as that would had spoiled the list as players on the list are deserving names.

Yunno one thing that can't hide too long from the Internet? A supposed allegation! Sometimes, bloggers may carry false report from several years back, just to suit the present situation. Nicholas Jackson wasn't on the list and that's like a huge relief for me since it'll look too much like a partial/ pay-to-earn type of shit ...

it sure has, but the ratings isn't usually based off of the player's recent performances alone... Lookman did enough to be atleast in the top 3, but I guess he was just unlucky.

I don’t think you searched for the reports because it’s all available online. But I’m happy we both agree that Nicolas Jackson does not deserve to be on the list of nominees. Aside from AFCON performance, Nicolas Jackson has not been a reliable striker for Chelsea. He can’t score goals that are right in front him, Chelsea almost bought Victor Osimhen and Jackson would be sitting in the bench permanently. It is only this season that Jackson seem to be improving, he work harder and focus on improving his finishing before thinking about winning awards.

I am short of words myself to know that Nicolas Jackson could make such comment questioning his exclusion in the list of CAF player of the year award. I think someone needs to educate him about the requirements to be shortlist amongst many African superstar playing across Europe and other competition's.

Buttressing on what @Docnaster said, Nicolas Jackson was a complete flop with Chelsea in last season's EPL competition, Chelsea didn't qualify to play any European competition. Jackson missed more goal chances triple times of the numbers of goals he scored. He only got to make some improvement this season after Mikel Obi criticism about his form and performance. He probably need to take his team to qualify for next year champions league by finishing in the top four and also winning the conference league this season if he really wants to be considered in the CAF list next year.

I am about to drop it here as I see the news.
CAF intervene after the incidence as the Super Eagles of Nigeria return back home with aim of waiting for CAF to do their investigation and arrange a neutral grand for the match, finally the judgement is ready and the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been awarded the three points and three goals after their home win against Libya.

The fine is good so as to because a lesson to others that will learn from this. The CAF should also give them serious warning because I heard that such incidents has happened a while back before now, and if the Libyan team management wants their country’s football to get to another level, they need to improve and make things work.

The three-point loss and sanctions on the Libyan Football Federation is a fair judgement. They should be happy that they were not banned from CAF competitions because their offence was grievous. They endangered the life of the national team of a nation because they wanted to retaliate for the ill-treatment they claimed they received from the Nigerian Football Federation.

This case will not end here because the LFF has already shown that they will appeal the judgment. North Africans have always had the mindset that they are not been treated fairly in African Football. In this case, they will not get a better judgement anywhere. Congratulations to the Super Eagles because they have qualified for the next AFCON.

I have not heard before that a player questioned or protested over being nominated for award or something, so I doubt Nicolas Jackson would want to be the first in that list. It is not that he played exceptionally, therefore entitled to be nominated so I don't see why he will make such comment. Assuming it turn out to be true, then like you rightly said, he might have forgotten that the nomination have criteria for selection which I think he did not meet. There are better players who do not even make the list so I don't know what his reasons might be.

The judgement is quite fair, and I'm happy with it. If Nigeria was actually at fault, I would have felt the same. Our competition isn't as competitive as those overseas, so we have to embrace some form of transparency and fairness in what we do. I believe this will definitely serve as a warning to every national team and their various football federations, because enough is enough for those who choose to spoil the competition we are still trying to enjoy.

I think Nigeria already top the group even before the point was awarded, so with this extra 3 points, I think they are safe at that top spot for the now. And also, $50K is quite an interesting amount. Hope they don't misuse that funds.

My friend on hearing the CAF verdict said that the fine on the Libyan team was too small, because the players lives that they endangered was worth more than that. I agree somehow because a bigger fine will scare and warn other African countries not to try it.
As for the three points and three goals, I believe the Super Eagles would have also won the game had it been played, so It is not exciting news to me. The Libyans had a easy judgement with this outcome, I do not think there is anything for their footballing body to try to appeal.
I have one question. So CAF awarded goals to the Super Eagles, whose name will they tag the three goals to?

Nicolas Jackson should focus on winning it next year because his performance has really improved. Everyone knows that he doesn't deserve to be on the list this year. I don't think Jackson had a better season than any of the shortlisted candidates, therefore CAF was unbiased. He has received enough backlash from football fans for this post.

Algerian Football Federation boycotted last year's CAF Awards in Morocco because they were protesting the exemption of Riyad Mahrez from the top three contenders. No Algeria official or player attended the award. They felt that after scoring 17 goals and providing 19 assists at Man City, he deserved the award.

Is a good final judgment from CAF and they have shown a good example for the remaining countries, at least it was not a waste of time for the eagles since the CAF has awarded them 3 goals and 3 points, I had hope that similar results will come out of the CAF and those who were questioning their judgment will now no that they are not whom they think they are, however everything resulted well for the super eagles because earlier I had some people saying that if there was to be a sanction it will also affect the super eagles but this final results has nothing against the eagles and for Libya $50k is a huge money to pay by club that did not qualified and if they refuse to pay that $50k they would be banned from AFCON, so actually this final judgment should be a warning to all the countries playing the AFCON to no that there is always a penalty for an unethical act against the law of the CAF.

The goals are for all the players. But I don't think this News is a great one as an African brothers. I was thinking that CAF will reschedule another match with the two countries. CAF can't just award 3 goals to the Super Eagles. That part of the story is not comfortable with me but they can award the point and the fine. As for the fine, I don't know how severe the investigation was, some people are saying that is a small amount of money. My guys that is not small amount oohh. We are talking about $50,000 that is equivalent to N90,000,000 to N100,000,000 depends on the exchange platform.

And if it is true, it is what they the Libyan deserved  they have received. They behave like inhumane.

I didn't see this when I made my previous comment. It is a good move for CAF to do that. Though in my previous comment I was talking about the legitimacy of the news because I didn't see the application of the case. So now that CAF has sanction Libya what about the remaining games they will play? Still again I am not okay with the dashing of point to Super Eagles. At least they would have fine then and ask them to sponsor the game again in a neutral ground and play the game to know their strengths of the Match.

If they take a poll now most Nigerians would be very happy with CAFs decision it was too obvious what Libya did. I feel that the $50k is too small. They should have made it $100k. I am also grateful that we have social media that made everything go viral in real time. Libya couldn't hide anything and even if they wanted to bribe CAF, the evidence was too much for them to cover. This is a good one. I believe that other countries will take a leaf from this too.

For sure!! They can't bring in some hoax news of this magnitude from nowhere... It's also on CAF's official page on Facebook. I'm wondering where you tried to check yours but, it was just one search and I found it.
Personally, I think this was one of the strictest enforcement and yes, when the rules are made, it shouldn't be broken for any reason... I seen alot of sad and angry emojis from their citizens.. I'm not sure they're pleased with the development.

Nicholas Jackson is only looking for unnecessary attention. He did nothing for his country during the African Cup of Nations Competition and didn't do so well for Caf to involve him finally in the lost of players for the final list released. He couldn't and failed to convert most of the chances he had. He has done quite well this season and I expect him to be consistent. Chelsea has what it takes to find themselves in the next Champions league competition if they can consistently fight the way they're doing till the very end. His time will definitely come but for now, he's bluffing.
