The last match for the EFL Carabao Cup fourth round will take place tonight at exactly 8:45 West African time. Featuring Everton vs Newcastle. Everton are at an advantage because the match will be played at their home stadium.

Brighton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham and others have been eliminated. Either Everton or Newcastle will join them before 11 PM. My prediction is that Everton will beat Newcastle.

You were spot on concerning their home advantage cause they made proper use of it and currently leading by 3 goals to nil, i wonder how Newcastle would comeback. Its annoys me when I see people making this kind of statement, even if Arsenal are focusing on the premier league and champions league, is it not a shame for them to lose to a team like Fleetwood? If they had played against a strong team and they lost, I won’t really say anything or complain about the result of the match, but it’s a shame to lose to a team like that.

Arsenal are not even suppose to make use of their main squad to win the match, I don’t expect hem to lose the match, they just disappointed everyone, because their lose came as a surprise to everyone. Judging from both side's performance in their previous games in all competitions,  a draw is what we should be expecting but I don't think it may turn in that direction. From my own prediction,  I will say its a both teams to score and a direct win for Newcastle because they appear more promising than Everton presently now. Although football do present results as it pleases them and it may turn in an opposite direction but I am sure I draw as others got is not what will surface in today's game.

Of course, this isn’t a particularly significant trophy for the players, though I believe they still aim for success. We know they will be more focused on the Champions League. In the next round, these strong teams will likely field lineups consisting mostly of reserve players being eliminated from this competition wouldn't be an issue, whereas a poor result in the Champions League would have a severely negative impact on them. Furthermore, there is always the risk of key players getting injured in matches like these a risk that teams are keen to avoid.

The carabao cup is the heritage for Manchester City because there's obviously no club that can compete and go head to head with the citizens. Manchester City have world class players who are ever ready to compete and win games. Enzo Maresca is just assembling an army that follow his instructions and win him trophies in the club while he's still manager.

Manchester City and Liverpool really tried for still remaining in the league cup when other big premier league teams has exited already. There is possibility of both teams reaching the finals if they don't meet along the way but it seems these small clubs fights for the league cup more than the bigger teams so it won't still be an easy path to cross to the finals because if a team like Fleetwood can defeat Arsenal who is a top club in the premier league, anything can happen to Liverpool and Manchester City who are also top teams.

Bradford City and Fleetwood are the non premier league teams that is still remaining, they can shock the premier league teams and reach the final. Either Fleetwood will win Everton or Bradford City can shock Manchester City in the next match. Liverpool will meet one of the stubborn Premier League teams which is Bournemouth which will make it harder for them because Bournemouth won't exit the League Cup easily except they reach the final.

You are not far from the truth, it could happen but we shouldn't conclude yet because they might separate both teams at the semi finals, from how I have pictured it, the finals will definitely be a bigger side and a smaller team, is been long that happened. Look at it this way, Liverpool never played like Liverpool that had that high momentum to make their opponent struggle till the end of the game but these players allowed Chelsea to even see more of the balls and you would agree with me that Chelsea are still confused even the coach is confused on who to start or sub for who, the team can't play without some players, imagine them without Cole Palmer and J. Pedro the team doesn't have that drive to approach the game that was why Liverpool was on top all through the game but if Liverpool play club like Manchester City it won't be like what we saw last night.

If Manchester city should go for all this trophies this season there’s a possibility they won’t win either of them. Maybe they can win one but certainly not the 3 trophies. Last season Guardiola wanted to leave the club by winning the treble but it failed him, though he got hold of two and missing out only on the premier league to Arsenal. Liverpool with their new manager will want to start with winning a trophy even if it’s the carabao cup, for sure Iraola doesn’t have what it takes to battle man city and Arsenal for the premier league trophy but I think he can still strive to win the Carabao cup for a start. For now we're yet to know the teams that will qualify for finals, even this two teams you just mentioned don't even know if they'll get to the final. I believe we all saw what happened to Arsenal last 2 nights ago, how a club that no one expected knocked Arsenal out of caraboa cup which over confident made Arsenal to lose the match. We shouldn't be surprised that this teams won't get to the final or one of them will be knocked out on next round.

I certainly cant say I am very sure but there is the possibility that Arsenal didn't actually put enough or any efforts into beating Fleetwood simply because their main focus is on the premier league and the UEFA champions league, So their next game in the premier league would definitely tell if the club has lost focus or they simply didn't place as much value on the EFL Carabao cup.

And on the other hand still, I think most of this supposedly smaller clubs seems to be a bone hanging in the throat of some of this bigger clubs, Manchester city barely escaped from the hands of Brighton & Hove yesterday, when the match ended in a 2 : 2 draw and was going into penalties, I feared for Manchester city, But thank goodness they were able to scale through at last.

Not that the two penalty decisions where wrong but I believe it's Time the Carabao cup gets video assistant referee from this stage of the competition.
I don't think I understand or does it make sense to have Video assistant referee in the later stage of the competition when you can't have them now, it is just like the organizers wants the drama of questionable calls in this stage but what's it to be fair in the later stages because I don't think it's financial reasons.

The problem is not from the organizers. Teams in league 1 and 2 don't have enough facilities and setups required to run a VAR. For instance, using VAR in premier league stadium, while not using in lower league stadium won't be fair. That's the problem. I understand the fact that VAR would make the game more fair and interesting, but you won't blame the organisers for little or no facilities from lower leagues.

Don’t know how you could say that though, that they just wanted to go out and concentrate on other leagues. If it’s the case that they didn’t take the game seriously, I would say that is true due to the fact that, they must have underrated Fleetwood and didn’t see how Fleetwood might beat them. Secondly, they did some player rotation that didn’t work so well as, they were on the back foot before they would know it, looking for an equalizer and then the win but, they lost on penalties.

In today’s fixture, we had Everton to have beat Newcastle by 3:1 goal. Newcastle started the game very aggressively but, Everton held on. Mostly by the efforts of Pickford as, Newcastle was constantly around and within the goalkeeper’s box until Everton picked up momentum and took the game to them and Newcastle couldn’t do so much to stop them from coming at them.

The EFL was the only viable cup the likes of Brighton can be close to winning and that may have being the reason behind their fierceness against Manchester City beyond what we have expected the game to be for City. I felt most disappointed by Chelsea than i did with Arsenal, i mean the Blues has no other tough engagements other than the EPL and would have taken the EFL more serious than any of the big teams participating but they just got flushed out so early. as for Arsenal it ca be excused that Arteta may not be prioritizing the EFL this season and want to fashion energy into the most important for him, the EPL and UCL, thats why their early exit.

With the remaining teams which are Fleetwood Town, Everton, Crystal palace, Sunderland, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Manchester City and Bradford, I believe Manchester city and liverpool have considerable chances of making it to the finals, but anything can happen though.

I do not agree on making excuses after losing but we need to understand that the game of football sometimes plays against the favourites and the result is most time not what we might expect. Arsenal didn’t just lose the game on a regular time you know right, the game had progressed to penalties and which they lost from there. In fact not just Arsenal but any team  in this world could lose in a penalty shootout so it’s unfair to blame Arsenal because they lost on a penalty shootout. Fleetwood got the lead in the first half and Arsenal tried to equalise the game in the 2nd half and went into the penalties, it wasn’t just their day to progress if not they definitely have better pk takers but Bruno guimareas lost the penalty that sent them away.

The problem with most of thus top teams is that they sometimes underrate this smaller teams thinking that they will just win easily, but what most of them fails to understand is that these smaller team always make a special preparation against this top teams anytime they are aware that they are playing a top team, which is one of the main reason we sometimes sees a surprising result playing out .

As it stands Manchester City are the clear favourite for the carabao cup trophy, seconded by Liverpool, but their is no guarantee that any of them can win it, especially now that smaller teams are springing up surprises.

I am just curious and passiving how interesting the Manchester City and Liverpool finak match would be,(if possible)well game like this are unpredictable because at times a team that looks weak during the first matches, turnout to be a tough one in tournament that would eliminate big team. However, my own views and observations goes to Manchester City, as they have a bigger advantages due to thier past experiences, but one cannot tell, as Liverpool would also wants to win by all means, no matter how high the pressures may be, if at all the both of them reachs the final stage it would be tougher one. AFC Bounamouth would also not take it easy on Liverpool in thier next clash.

No one expected Arsenal to be knocked out in that way, but that is exactly what happened, stunningly, Arsenal were knocked out after losing to Fleetwood. So there is certainly no guarantee that Man City and Liverpool will remain unbeaten on their way to the final. Indeed, there aren’t many big threats left, but in football, anything can happen

Man City are slightly luckier than Liverpool because in the quarter-finals they will only be facing Bradford City ( I don’t think Man City will find it difficult to win this match). Meanwhile, Liverpool are set to face Bournemouth, and I would expect this to be a very closely fought match for both sides
