Well, I started to ask very critical questions at the new forum (in Dutch) in just the same line as you do. After the responses I have a mixed feeling, on one side the (main) devs do a great job and have the very best intensions. But on the other side the community is totaly ignored. This last issue is a very wrong signal towards all the other people who are dedicated in mining/developing/investing/contributing/etc towards Guldencoin. The very main problem is indeed the gap between community and de (main) devs.

How you guys think to solve this problem? I like to hear all you thoughts, positive and negative.

I think I already told Rijk this three times in the past year (last time less than a month ago). Nothing has been done with my suggestions. It's also the same reason the Criptoe team "left" us. Solving the problem? Can't without the devs cooperation, so why bother.

The old forum was built with SMF. Because of this we had very few possibilities to upgrade and improve the forum's feature set and layout.

We looked at several options and found that Discourse is a communication/discussion platform with a great features set. It's also under continuous development and supported by a great community, so we chose to move to discourse.

All posts and accounts have been migrated. You need to reset your password because the encryption used at SMF differs from discourse.

Just on that , it's really easy to keep track of new and unread posts now. The big thing with Discourse is that in time as our user base keeps growing we can share the load across multiple instances and can handle a lot more traffic then SMF.

With that being said anything new takes time getting used too and we would like to hear peoples feedback on the changes.

Also special thanks to Cookie who started the previous forums for us and maintained it, if I am not mistaken the old forums will still be kept around for a bit as a backup.

And again "the Team" decided what was the proper thing to do for the community...

@waterloo you can make a joke about multitasking but you are again distracting the attention from the real problems! "The team" just has their own agenda and ignores the communitity. It also again shows how the team handles priorities.

I agree that there are some gaps and lack of communication between the community and the Guldencoin team, it feels a bit like sitting in a taxi where the drives is playing very loud music. Although i really like the new forum, it was launched as a "surprise" for the community, with all the heated discussion the last thing people are waiting for is surprises. In my opinion the website that Jero is making for crowdfunding has more priority than a new forum because with a good crowdfunding website allot of big projects can be funded that are very important. Fortunately i am more than willing to accept this if they deliver the new algo in a timely manner. I think it is time to make a very simple website with projects the Guldencoin team are working on/ thinking about, so that the community can express their feelings before towards the ideas...
I cannot Imagen why nobody can help Jero with the design, Roel & Patrik & cookie made a great design for Guldenbuy, why is it do hard to join forces to alter the design of the website and add some projects!?,. There are allot(to much) of projects that are semi-finalized that are being abandoned, this really pisses me of!. With a community funding website we can make a spear out of the community! and show to the world what we want. I want to thank Geert for delivering a very good looking forum!

Hey troll, any other coin would have collapsed under its own weight by now. NLG is still here and this is nothing compared with a month ago.

Relax Mike! NLG is maybe the strongest coin around! You know why? Because we have an extreme strong and dedicated community! This is a coin that revolves around it's community, not the other way around! That's why little clashes like this won't mind in the long run!

On another note, I hope this isn't distracting the DEV team to much from the ALGO work, for that, at least to me, is the most important thing right now!
I can't comment on the other feelings regarding the forum etc. as I am new here and still getting to know the situation and everyone involved.
However just to clarify here on this point, the bulk of the ALGO work at this point lies on C_E_D and myself, the others are of course heavily involved and things are discussed every step of the way as there are lots of major decisions to make but other than this input there is not much for them to do other than wait for us to do our parts and assist where they can. While they wait for us, it makes sense for them to work on other projects in that time.
It is seldom that a dev team consisting of multiple people with diverse skillsets can ever focus absolutely all their man hours on one single task, while it is tempting to think in this way (that the task will somehow be quicker if it is all the team does) it does not really work this way in reality.

I would like to stress that from my side since I have joined the focus has been 100% on the ALGO problem - so the dev team certainly are focusing on this as the number one priority.

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.. I tried to reset my password on the new forums but not receiving an email.  Checked spam folder. Not sure if I associated an email address with my username on the old forums.  Was that mandatory?

Markanth, it seems that the cumulative percentage of blocks is dropping. Are there new parties mining NLG?

biomike - nlgstats currently accounts for ~90% of mined blocks today.  10% unknown.  I'll take a look if much of that 10% is going to one pool.  Over the past month there have been 1 or more pools who receive block reward to a newly created address every block solve.  So 100% will probably never be accounted for unless I start looking for first ip that relays a solved block and correlate on that..  similar to what blockchain does.. and they still have around 25% unknown.

I know and am relax. Wink If the devs would only start working together with that community... we could accomplish so much more. And now they singlehandedly changed the communities most important communication tool?

I assure you that I am not a founder of Guldencoin or a member of the dev-team. If you would read the LinkedIn page you would see that I've made services for Guldencoin that I either founded or co-founded. Big difference there.

They have been responsible with the premine. They deserve credit for that and even allowed funding community projects with those, in that sense they were listening to the community. But that is more the exception.

Only Rijk and Geert-Johan are on the forums. According to Rijk, the others are only involved at some times with NLG.

Roel is not a dev member. Just a very active community member.

Same as Roel, although he often releases more "official info" than the devs themselves. I agree, confusing.

Communitycoin my ass! This coin need new leaders.

The community is doing a LOT (outside the dev team). What the devs do, the community does not know. The only way for us to check is not being used by the devs (dev branches on github, I suggested them to use them before, but they apparently decided not to for some unknown reason).
