Cameroon just beat the Nigeria 1 nil to advance to the finals. Despite being the better side in the game, the Super Falcons just couldn’t find the back of the net. In my opinion, this is the best performance I have seen from Nigeria so far in this tournament. Today was just one of those games where “football happens”.

I’m not so pained that we lost today, the WAFCON isn’t a big deal for me. After all, Nigeria has won it 10 times. What bothers me is the fact that we needed this win to automatically qualify for the World Cup. Now, we will have to play against other teams that got knocked out of the quarter finals for a place in the World Cup.

Sato you make me laugh, how come when they win their performance becomes terrible but if they lose like what we saw against Cameroon you give them their flowers, like I don't understand. Well, for me this girls didn't play as a team, infact they had every opportunity to make the Cameroon women to track back every time they attack but they don't make every chance count.
For the goal they scored the Falcons, I don't know if anyone have noticed what happened but I can tell you for free that the goalkeeper of the Super Falcons was the cause of that goal. How can you set a wall and still be behind the wall instead of standing at the open space, she did same thing in the second half and I concluded that she's not good at setting the wall and positioning herself, it was an awful display by the Falcons, wasted my time shouting for Esther to just pass the ball to Oshoala to equalize the game, too bad from the girls. To qualify for the world cup will be another difficult task for the girls and I hope they don't disappoint like the Eagles.

Are they following the boys? Nigeria would have won the WAFCON 11 times this time but they lost this time, losing would not have been so hard if they had not lost the chance of direct qualification by losing in the quarter-finals. Although there is still a chance to go to the 2027 Women's World Cup through the additional African play-offs but it will be very stressful. I think there was a big difference between their performance and their expectations. But I hope they get the chance to play in the next World Cup and try their best so that they can do what the boys could not do.

I was really hopeful when the Falcons recovered from the Malawi lose and bounced back to defeat Zambia and Egypt that they had got their acts together, I thought that narrowly escaping from the group stage that they had given us assured reason to believe that they will reach the final of this WAFCON. They did their best but it wasn't good enough to take them to semi finals, I hope that they have learnt their lessons as they move on to preper for the world cup qualifiers, I've not researched when they will start to fight for the qualification but I'm not worrying myself over it. Going forward I'm wishing them well in their preparation for the world cup qualification because it is the end of the road for them in Morocco.

I am not among the many who are sad about it, Nigeria has dominated the competition for a very long time and it is only fair that they eliminated to give way to other teams to win in the competition so that the competition does not become boring for both viewers and other teams that are in it with Nigeria winning it most of the time.

We all know that the Falcons don't always end up like this, so it's nothing to be sad about, instead they should be applauded for reaching the quarterfinals. 

It will be hard to applaud them for reaching the quarterfinals of this competition when in fact we know that they have won this competition many times before. It is just like saying we should applaud somebody for coming 3rd place when it is somebody that we are used to knowing comes out 1st place. These results they have from this competition is disappointing especially to their standards as a team that has dominated the WAFCON. The Super Falcons need to go back to the drawing board.

The Nigeria Super Falcons has well dominated this tournament over time and getting eliminated at this stage in the competition was not what we anticipated for, but maybe much was not on their side this time to make it to the semifinal of the WAFCON and book their automatic place in the FIFA women World Cup come 2027. Hope is not lost yet as they’ll battle to play in the playoffs in order to book a spot for the World Cup.

I don't doubt their ability to make it to the female World Cup, this experience of losing out from African Cup of Nations will be a learning curve to them to take each game from now going forward seriously because now they are no longer indestructible as they used to be, they either have to improve or let go of the dominance that they have on women football globally.

If you watched the match you wouldn't say they were reluctant, i watched that match from the beginning till the end, those girls did their best but the Cameroonian's defense was too tough, they even had good chances that the opponents goalkeeper saved them on several occasions, it was as if the goalkeeper was the weapon fashioned against the Falcons.

 The Cameroonian's didn't outplay the Falcons rather it was the other way round, just that the freekick goal they scored which was one of their biggest chance wasn't expected, i think it was scored by their defender if I'm not mistaken, i was very shocked at that goal cause the angle she played it would be tough for any keeper to catch. I quite agree with your point here. Maybe it's time they do a routine check on themselves as a team to bounce back better. Yes they've dominated the WAFCON for ten years which no other team has been able to achieve. Although we should admit that they made a mistake and that mistake short-lived them for the tournament.

I so much do not think there is any Nigerian that is happy with the outcome of the super falcon and Cameroon match. The outcome of that match really shocked us because we had in mind that the super falcon will progress to the final of this tournament. So it is normal that we are still hurt because our expectations on the super falcons were cut short by Cameroon.  Super falcons have been the dominant team in the women AFCOn for decades now which was why we place our expectations too high in that match. So I believe this year AFCOn isn't for us to win as we can't keep dominating the competition forever.

It was an ignorant mistake from Chiamaka Nnadozie because she was not aware of the right positioning at that time and besides in most times free kick are not even scored from were they blocked but it was unfortunate to see the great super falcon being eliminated from 2026 WAFCON and this victory is the second time Cameroonians are wining super falcon, it was an unexpected elimination from them because we were hoping for change after the group stage challenges. However as they are no more on the game, don't you think is possible that Cameroonians are going to win the WAFCON for the first time?.

If you have been following the game from their first match in the group stage you will understand that the goal keeper is full of errors, Chiamaka Nnadozie couldn't save a free kick that she saw despite not building her wall very well how then do we expect them not to lose?  Truth is that they are not in their best performance in this year's tournament that's why nobody will be surprised that they are eliminated.

Yes keeper was also a different problems for them too because some goals her team conceded was because of her Inelastic, actually there was a lot of repeated mistakes to correct on the keeper and my disappointment in her also started on the first match you were bringing my notice on, it wasn't that the team doesn't have another goalkeeper because their second goalkeeper could have been sharper than her efforts on the WAFCON, So I understand what you are saying about the free kick because if the keeper had checked the free kick wall she would have either corrected Chiamaka Nnadozie or knows what to do.

The super falcons are trying their best and we can't expect that they always win each time the play their matches, sometimes it will come in a difficult challenge for them and that is why they must face every situation as it is, thinking at their overall performance, they have been trying well and seeing them miss this opportunity does not mean that we cannot still build more confidence in them later in the future, you are still more well to do when it comes to professionalism in football and has a number of achievements they have made in the past and still counting.

It was a very painful loss because the Super Falcons dominated the game and created more chances. Their major problem was the inability of the strikers to be clinical up front. So many chances were wasted, and the Cameroonian goalkeeper was outstanding. Michaely Bihina made about nine crucial saves during the quarterfinal game with Nigeria.

We have been knocked out of the WAFCON and lost the chance of qualifying automatically to the World Cup. Nigerians will be hopeful that the Falcons scale through from the playoffs.

It's sad to see our women crashed out of the competition at this stage but it's definitely not shocking to many of us. I personally lost confidence in them after their first two games. Lost the first match and find it hard to win the second match which they narrowly escaped with slight margin. I must confess that my hope was revived after their third game when they won with a huge difference against Egyptian women. They scored many goals in that match even though their performance was not as imp as the goals scored but I gave them the benefit of doubt. It's a different case with our men squad, we already know some of our men players are feeling too big and doesn't want to sacrifice for the national team but these ladies always give their best. Something is definitely not right in their camp but sooner or later, truth will be exposed.

The African Super Falcons have shown a poor performance in this African Cup of Nations League tournament, as they lost to Malawi in the first match of the group stage, highlighting their weaknesses. However, the team turned around brilliantly in the next two group stage matches and they were able to reach the quarter-final round by winning but we noticed that they lost to Cameroon in the quarter-final match.

Why is it hard for you to believe that they lost the match to Cameroon? Shits happens and this must have thought everyone a level that football is not easily predictable. At the beginning of the match, the Falcons where not playing like they really want to win the match. Although they dominated the match but their finishing was the problem why they could not win.
I also noticed that our players were not playing to the expected limit. They play more of defense than attacking which could have help the have a fantastic finishing.

The whole Nigerian football is always somehow I don’t know why , they are good at starting well and ending poorly . They are always close to finals . The Nigerian women team started well , especially with the match against Egypt with the goals of (6-2) , thinking they will keep that pace in the next match against Cameroon. But no…the match ended with 1-0 , Cameroon being victorious. At this point, it feels like there’s a deeper problem with Nigerian football that goes beyond just one tournament . To the point many no longer watch their matches , folks already losing the confidence they have for the Nigerian team .

Honestly, at first in the game I was really excited hoping to see my country ladies making us proud which every good fan or supporter should do, but the loss was a stung loss and which i feel they did deserve that from the startimg of the game, and they overplayed them very well, and I feel they didn't even have better possession, or more chances, better structure…now this has really me that most of the time football isn't always fair at some Point, following your words you said next time the team should put in more heart, tactics, and fight. If they keep building, the luck will turn. And when it does, they’ll be unstoppable because they already have the quality…..

I wasn't chances to watch the game, but was it really that bad? From how you sound, it seems like the really disappointed everyone. It's why sometimes I don't have the appetite to watch the super falcons play unlike when out eagles have a match, I always find time to make sure I don't miss the game. You know one thing about football, when there's no good communication between players, it becomes a terrible game scene. They should try to understand how to connect with each other while playing, it one way to move up. I just hope they do qualify for the world cup at least we didn't get there with our super eagles we should hope that the falcons put up a good show for us and qualify..
