I saw it coming; no serious team allowed their players to go Live on social media or make posts while on a tournament. I saw a lot of vids from our girls after the win against Egypt - making contents and shading some fans for their comments. Set of clowns..

They've been going to the Women WC with nothing to show for - abeg make damn go sit-down make another team go..

I thought all the women's sports do this anyway. I opened my IG over the last weeks for work and saw so many suggestions from women football accounts. With the women's I almost understand, they're probably asked to do so by agents and clubs to get more exposure. It's when the boys do it that I feel they're clowns. I'm guilty of course, I consume a lot of LFC shit online so I'm probably part of the circus show.

I’m not so pained that we lost today, the WAFCON isn’t a big deal for me. After all, Nigeria has won it 10 times. What bothers me is the fact that we needed this win to automatically qualify for the World Cup. Now, we will have to play against other teams that got knocked out of the quarter finals for a place in the World Cup.

It’s really hard to believe that they were knockout but like you said it’s the qualification that matters more but then I figured out that the super falcons were all reluctant to an extent maybe they had the believe that Cameroon was just one of the those groundnut that can be harvested anytime, but it’s surprising how it didn’t play out that way, but I wish them lucks even though I might not want to watch them anymore.

Are they following the boys? Nigeria would have won the WAFCON 11 times this time but they lost this time, losing would not have been so hard if they had not lost the chance of direct qualification by losing in the quarter-finals. Although there is still a chance to go to the 2027 Women's World Cup through the additional African play-offs but it will be very stressful. I think there was a big difference between their performance and their expectations. But I hope they get the chance to play in the next World Cup and try their best so that they can do what the boys could not do.

This is football, any thing can happen so I don't really agree with the term following the boys instead I will say that this year didn't favour them unlike other years and I think it will make more sense for the Women to win in the year that that the men will win too that will help return Thier glory and motivation for the next season, the women's world cup will be a very fantastic performance if they can just qualify because everyone will be rooting for them even other African countries when they start defeating the big sharks for the game.

For the goal they scored the Falcons, I don't know if anyone have noticed what happened but I can tell you for free that the goalkeeper of the Super Falcons was the cause of that goal. How can you set a wall and still be behind the wall instead of standing at the open space, she did same thing in the second half and I concluded that she's not good at setting the wall and positioning herself, it was an awful display by the Falcons, wasted my time shouting for Esther to just pass the ball to Oshoala to equalize the game, too bad from the girls. To qualify for the world cup will be another difficult task for the girls and I hope they don't disappoint like the Eagles.

I wasn't chances to watch the game, but was it really that bad? From how you sound, it seems like the really disappointed everyone. It's why sometimes I don't have the appetite to watch the super falcons play unlike when out eagles have a match, I always find time to make sure I don't miss the game. You know one thing about football, when there's no good communication between players, it becomes a terrible game scene. They should try to understand how to connect with each other while playing, it one way to move up. I just hope they do qualify for the world cup at least we didn't get there with our super eagles we should hope that the falcons put up a good show for us and qualify..

The game was so annoying, the opportunities wasted caused the elimination of the Falcons, this game was easy for them from how I saw it because their opponent never had anything special to make the Super Falcons not to score. If was a game I thought they'd expose the defense of Cameroon women but they only attack and end up doing nothing productive with the ball, it was at the last minute of the game that we start seeing better chances flying by but nothing to equal the game. When we talk about teams that are hungry to be in the finals I'd mention Morocco women, they want to be the winner of this competition, hosting and winning it and I expect the Falcons to make it 11 times winners of this competition but they felt relax like they are done with winning, some may they tried but you see that pressure champions get in all competitions, I was waiting for that to happen but these girls wasn't strong enough to reach the semi finals, at least win something if possible the 3rd spot.

Our girls were too distracted and also over confident and as 11th times champions-  they thought they'd spend sleeping hours online and still dogwalk their opponents on the pitch. Lol

If I'm to point out those who caused us this game is mention the goalkeeper for not positioning herself after setting the wall just like one of the Super Eagles goalkeeper did some time ago have forgotten his name and also the girl Esther who had that only reasonable change a clear one for that matter but she choose to do it on her own, so tell me why won't these two players blamed for this lost game?
Are you sure you moved on? Well that's you trying to say you have but if the Falcons have been showing the signs of hunger to win more and not relaxing like you said I believe the whole thing we have been saying won't be about them making careless mistakes or blaming any one, let's take for instance a club like Manchester City, they will win the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and EPL, you'd still see them try to get any available trophy, my question is why ain't we hungry for another title both the men and women? Is sad that they didn't put on a good fight in this tournament. And qualifying for the World Cup won't be easy because they'll have to face some other teams to get to the world cup.

Well despite the loss on our women on this very competition, I am more courageous in believing our women capacity in game of football, it's not good to forget in a hurry that they have been the defending champion back to back, but if will watch closely you will know that politics follow in affecting what happened on this our women failure, the diminishing performance even struggling to qualify is purely politics just like our men where we face all kind of heart break, but what happened in right thinking is general failure not as it's targeted on one player before now team work was more focused this time it seems they are working more like team the relenting impact of some players leads to very lost.

The Nigeria women footballers have won so many trophies which can never be compared to what the men's footballers have won in history of the AFCON. Apart from the disappointment we saw on Sunday match between Nigerian women footballers and Cameroon women footballers, the women football association has really contributed hugely winning trophies for the country especially the African cup of nations. We are proud of them after so many trophies they have brought home even if they are not bringing any trophy home this year.

Our Men, Female and teenage team can't all such badluck within last year and this and you’ll call it a coincidence, if the Super Falcon where defeated in the final game then it would be something else but they got eliminated in the quarterfinals by Cameroon not even Morocco or a stronger WAFCON nation.

Blaming will solve no problem but can cause more problem and won't even give any chance for detailed analysis of what went wrong for a better response in next match. Will the manager also be blamed or only the 11 players are to be blamed?
And if they never played as a team who is supposed to have such blame? The manager/coach or the 11 players?

They surely entertained lots of distractions and I still blame their coaching staff for not putting a stop to that misbehaviour once noticed. Focus is very important when you're in a competition and preparing for a match. I could remember one time when a local Ghanaian musician complained of being snubbed by Thomas Partey before a match and people defended Partey that he needed to be focused and not entertain distractions. I still remember the case of Sancho at Manchester United when he was accustomed to playing video games deep into the nights and coming to training late, he was disciplined, so why did the coaching staff refuse to act while the girls misbehaved?

 I wonder where our girls kept their professional discipline. The coaches takes a big share of the blames, they would've managed the players better. Distractions cost them their glory

First of all let us remove good or bad luck from the team. The question I will like to ask is did they play well? Because before we say they were having bad luck,that means they performed well but couldn't score because lick was not there side. For them to loss the opening match shows that they are not well prepared in the tournament and they were busy Snapchating and TikToking. Why Nigeria Super Falcons didn't scale through to the final and was knocked out from the automatic ticket to the WWC was because of the NFF. They didn't prepare the players well and all they were interested was for their money. I didn't hear preseason international friendlies matches to warm up the players and they were only straight taken to the pitch and play. Why didn't they lose.

They should learn their lesson and do well in the team tournament and seasons.

Countries rise and fall; that's how sports go sometimes. The Super Falcons have dominated the African female soccer space. It seems times are changing, and some African countries are improving. We kept complaining that the current team is not balanced. The defence was weak, and the attack was not clinical.

The Super Falcons can still redeem themselves. The game against South Africa and the other playoff games would be a good chance for this team to make us proud.

I have been reading the posts on this thread and to be honest I can’t stand the hypocrisy of some of the comments. Nigerians don’t take women football or sports seriously, a good number of the regular posters here did not pay much attention to the WAFCON when it started until the girls made it to the quarter finals. I just don’t get it, if you don’t show support when your team needs it, why do you “feel hurt” when they lose?

I so much do not think there is any Nigerian that is happy with the outcome of the super falcon and Cameroon match. The outcome of that match really shocked us because we had in mind that the super falcon will progress to the final of this tournament. So it is normal that we are still hurt because our expectations on the super falcons were cut short by Cameroon.  Super falcons have been the dominant team in the women AFCOn for decades now which was why we place our expectations too high in that match. So I believe this year AFCOn isn't for us to win as we can't keep dominating the competition forever.

It was a very painful loss because the Super Falcons dominated the game and created more chances. Their major problem was the inability of the strikers to be clinical up front. So many chances were wasted, and the Cameroonian goalkeeper was outstanding. Michaely Bihina made about nine crucial saves during the quarterfinal game with Nigeria.

We have been knocked out of the WAFCON and lost the chance of qualifying automatically to the World Cup. Nigerians will be hopeful that the Falcons scale through from the playoffs.

The super falcons did not play as expected in this current Women's African of Nations and people have been complaining about their performance, after they won Egypt 6:2 and escaped exiting the competition in group stage i was happy because i believe they have gotten their lost form back but even as Cameroon managed to beat them i was not pained because they have 10 WAFCON to their name, and it is time for other countries to start winning the WAFCON for people to see WAFCON as a serious competition. The super falcons thinks they are untouchable it is business as usual. Their loss against Cameroon will make them go back to drawing board to identify where the loops holes are which would help them come back stronger in next WAFCON.

I do not find any thing clownish about the attitudes of the ladies who put of their excitement did what every other female squad in previous tournaments has been doing. The Nigeria Super Falcons to my view has been the better team than the men's team, so why calling them clowns after many good records set that have given us pride, but just for a one time of a bad performance some persons forget how good they have been before now.

They have been playing well and so they’ll feel that no any other team can eliminate them from the competition without them getting to reach the finals and win the trophy for the 12th time. Times have changed and they should have noticed that if they’ve been observant all this while.

From their first game, they saw how they struggled to win the match against a nation they never had to struggle to fight with, this was a big sign for them that this competition was not going to be easy. They ended up losing concentration and having a very big confidence in themselves which failed them ultimately. They should now fight through the harder route to make it to the world cup next year.

What a story, what a team. The first-ever appearance of Malawi in WAFCON; they are reaching the final.

This was made possible tonight as they beat Algeria by  3-1(both teams had 1 red card). We will get to find out which African country(Morocco or Cameroon) they will face in the final in a few minutes.
