All those who like to think that the WAFCON is not interesting or entertaining are seriously missing out.
Maybe am really missing something, I don’t really know what people finding in watching women football, it’s not really interesting to me. From the way they attack, the way they dribble, the way their goalkeeper do catch ball, all are just annoying, boring and I don’t really think it worth wasting my time watching. If am watching WAFCON matches, am always on social media observing the things happening, my attention isnt always in the match that am watching, because I don’t find it interesting. Some people are always finding it interesting, but I don’t know if there is anything interesting thing in WAFCON.

Of course, Cameroon is a strong team because it's not easy beating two giant teams namely Nigerian Women and Morocco Women. Cameroon goalkeeper is superb, she is basically the reason why Cameroon made it to the finals because she was exceptional in the match against the Super Falcons and also in the match against Morocco especially during the penalty shootout.
If not for that keeper they would've been out of the competition, she could end up making them win this competition cause the two biggest threat in the African women's football are out and defeated by them, it's suprising cause i thought this was an opportunity for Morocco to win it since Nigeria is out. Well they might not lose out completely cause they have the third place to play with Algeria so hopefully they use that to compensate themselves for failing to play the final. Cameroon and Malawi would play the finals, my support would go to Cameroon cause they suprised me, i think they deserve the trophy.

Well was never a fan of female football and definitely not one now Lol Was just desperately bored so had to try it and WAFCON average keeper skills are annoying Cameroon keeper only one that at least uses her head. They would likely win the final and the keeper winning best player. The truth remains the keeper won Nigeria not Cameroon No matter how we would say it's a team effort. Let's not even talk about our mediocre finishing.
Really? The female falcons are doing better compared to before. I can remember different other cups they lost because of how bad the team was they have only got to the quarter finals ones. People just do not find interest in their leagues but it could be worth the watch. Before even watching any of the female match I don't expect them to put up a game, but I watch for fun since it's still sport, just to spend time.

This is the worst women's team I've seen in a long time; how did we become this bad? Nothing positive seems to be happening in any of our sports. Rotten from head to tail. Losing to Cameroon to get eliminated in WAFCON was bad enough, now getting knocked out of the World Cup Qualifiers against South Africa is a next level shitshow that we should never have to deal with, but here we are again, right ? Nigeria are the huge favorites in both of these matches, for reasons that I'm finding very hard to understand. There is no way we didn't see this coming from far out, the rot has eaten way to deep into the NFF, and guess all that's going to be at stake ?, it's the coaches job, and before we know it, the next edition they're about recycle these players that shouldn't be representing the national team ever again, the NFF should be completely overhauled and if it's privatization that's going to restore the country's glory at least on continental level, then it should be done right away.

Of course, things have really fallen apart, and it seems very difficult to amend. We used to have one of the strongest women in African football, but it's a pity we are no longer representing. I wouldn't even mention the men's team, they have disappointed enough and we are already used to there disappointments. How did we become this bad you asked, it's very clear. Once the head is corrupt, it's comes down to the shoulders and gradually down to the feet and all over the body. Our corruption does not only end in politics and leadership's, looting and embezzlement, it has for long encroached into sports, and Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) is nothing but pencils in the hands of there makers(those who put them there). Because of the politics going on there, so many players don't give up there best while on international duty, but are ready to give there lives for there European clubs. Things are really bad. But the possibility of change is the issue, maybe from next generation.

This is really heartbreaking... after the Super Falcons were eliminated in the WAFCON by Camerooon, i was thinking that they will win South Africa in the play-off that would have guaranteed them a spot in the 2027 Women's World cup but they failed to win and qualify just as the men did. This is a double blow to Nigeria because despite that the Women competition doesn't produce a lot of discussion and vibes but if the Super Falcon had made it to the 2027 World Cup it would have been a consolation for the Men that didn't qualify for the 2026 world Cup. I don't know where the Super Falcons got it wrong, they have been very outstanding in their performance before the WAFCON but things took a different turn for them. I also feel for the team too because there are some players in the squad who would have loved to appear at the 2027 Women's world cup. This is the first time in 35 years that the Super Falcons failed to qualify for the Women's world cup, it was a long run but they could have just keep sailing.

oh Not the Falcons to be specific They relatively better than most But some especially their Goal keeper always look like they scared of the ball. And supposed Falcons lost to SA when I thought it would be a breeze And we would see the iconic Ghana vs Nigeria But I guess that's football.

This is indeed a terrible year for the Super Falcons, they got eliminated for the first time before the Semifinals in the WAFCON and that’s their worst performance since the creation of this competition, also they lost the Playoffs yesterday against South Africa.. can you imagine.. and they will missed the Women World Cup tournament also for the first time. All these poor results coming after they decided to include ten stars on their jersey for this WAFCON tournament.. Lol. Our Football got problems that needs to be addressed and fixed very soon, we have very good players and squad but very poor results lately. Something positive is happening in one of our sports though.. our Basketball team seems to be doing well especially the Women team (D’Tigress), they’re the best team in Africans and the eight best in the world.

It is very sad that the Falcons could not fly to their peak as they usually do as the renowned best team in Africa, with the most trophy, we expected more from them but they came up short of our expectations from their first game when they lost to Malawi, in the end they proved that they didn't have what it takes to win this WAFCON. To cap their disgrace they lost to South Africa, and by extension their slot in the female world cup, I agree with anybody that says this is the worst Falcon's team that didn't live up to the high standard that we expected from them. As a consolation we we're hoping to see the Falcons in their world cup since our Super eagles, failed us by not qualifying, now it is clear that this is not the best time for Nigerian football in the international levels, I hope that the Falcons and eagles, have learnt their lessons and would perform better in subsequent completions.

Super Falcons has been the best for many years and seeing their current performance make me worried, because this is not they used to play before, is the problem from the coach? Because i saw some journalists complaining that the coach is to be blamed for everything, because he played some players out of position and he did not start some players that supposed to stay the game. Our Super Eagles are not doing well, now is our Super Falcons, to be honest, I am not happy. I will not blame the players but men and women because the country is not doing the right thing for them, it is not like i am here talking about the country for not doing well, many of our leaders don’t pay attention on football anymore, look at other countries and how they are building stadiums to make the youth feel better and shows their talent, but the government don’t pay attention to our youth anymore, even the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons complained about how they were treated and sometimes for not getting paid.

Super Eagles, have finally infected this Super Falcons with their horrible style of playing football, I really don’t understand what happened to this Super Falcons team that made them fall apart in this Tournament, I was never expecting this from them after loosing to Cameroon now loosing to South Africa I’m very disappointed by their performance, they became too comfortable after winning the Tournament for 10 consecutive years. I think Nigerian Football needs rebranding, there needs to be a wake up call for the NFF President to resign, he isn’t doing well in managing Nigerian football, the Men’s team haven’t qualified for two consecutive world cups, and now the female team wouldn’t qualify for the Women’s World Cup, it’s a very disappointing situation for Nigeria, Amadu Pinnick needs to leave that job immediately he isn’t suited for the Situation. Nigeria should learn from what Morocco is doing, they’re about to co-host the next World Cup with Europe in 2030, Nigeria can’t even host a Africa Nations Cup, Nigeria is just a good for nothing country, corruption have taken all over them in everything, I wonder if they have a World Class Stadium.

IMO the coach was the problem today, his defensive strategy didn’t do the team any good at all. Also, how do you sub off your best player when you need goals. What was Okoronkwo doing on the bench in such an important game? It’s a shame we won’t be playing in the World Cup despite having a star studded team, if NFF had any sense, they would sack the manager tonight.
Justin Madugu claimed that starting Uchenna Kanu and Asisat Oshoala was a tactical decision. And Nigerians are imagining how keeping your best player on the bench in such an important game makes sense. Esther Okoronkwo's decision to go for goal in the game against Cameroon when Asisat was in the best position to score would have contributed to the coach's decision. Esther received so much backlash from Nigerians for acting selfishly. But this shouldn't be the reason for keeping such a creative and dynamic player. Too bad we are not going to the World Cup in Brazil.

Should anyone argue this? The way things are turning out, isn't that a good sign that things are not actually right, you know when bad luck is been been brought to the picture, people view it as a superstitious word but be it as it may, the Nigeria national football is in the state jeopardy, there should be an urgent attention to all of this, even through our women has been at the top of the game they just crashed out from, for 11 years which is very good of them, but the question is who send them packing, that's to say for Cameroon to send them home, they weren't serious this time and there might be something that led to their poor peeformance in this tournament.
First of all let us remove good or bad luck from the team. The question I will like to ask is did they play well? Because before we say they were having bad luck, that means they performed well but couldn't score because lick was not there side. For them to loss the opening match shows that they are not well prepared in the tournament and they were busy Snapchating and TikToking. Why Nigeria Super Falcons didn't scale through to the final and was knocked out from the automatic ticket to the WWC was because of the NFF. They didn't prepare the players well and all they were interested was for their money. I didn't hear preseason international friendlies matches to warm up the players and they were only straight taken to the pitch and play. Why didn't they lose. They should learn their lesson and do well in the team tournament and seasons. Even when you call luck superstition, these words has been and found expression in other nations, tribes and languages, not thought by others but fully part and parcel of their daily living. Coming to football, yes one can say luck happens but how can you get carried away by talking about luck when it's clear that this team didn't do well? And so busy giving plenty of chances for another team to take hold of. The point is clear, they never did well and looking at the whole thing from the beginning, not necessarily blaming but bringing up the fact that NFF as Agbe pointed failed the team and the nation at large before the team entered the field is very important and that explains the whole thing and many other mismanagement like favoritism aside preparing the team physically by international friendlies and even local matches.

Before this current AFCON tournament, I always enjoyed Falcons games because they played with determination and purpose, but watching this current competition makes me conclude that Nigeria has happened to them and they no longer cared much about bringing the glory home. Maybe they lost motivation and obviously they lost focus, but this has to be their worst outing in a major competition I ever watched. I hope they don't continue this way into the world cup qualification round, else... It is what it is!!

The poor performance from the WAFCON was the reason for this embarrassing loss too. It's incredible to see how our ladies have fallen from dominating the continent championship for a good decade to their present state. Crashing out of the WAFCON in the quarter final for the first time in history and then losing in the world cup qualification for the first time too in over twenty years. It's painful and the fact we are eliminated by South African women make it more painful but we have to look deeper beyond pitch performance. Our women are under-supported, underfunded and underpaid. They have been screaming about the challenges for a long time but the NFF doesn't care. The same thing is applicable to our men team. The system isn't supportive and it's affecting our performance in all sports.

Malawi surprised me, I won't deny it because they showed up like every average team but shocked so many. The first upset was when they coordinated themselves and beat Nigeria. Went on to remove teams no one expected of them to eliminate and now being in the finals is a worthy spot for them but let's talk about the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon because those girls are something else entirely. They displayed a beautiful game of confidence and control and their shot stopper. Michealy, didn't fail to show up and for them to eliminate Morocco and Nigeria, I feel their confidence has increased tenfold.
It was surprising how the team from Malawi showed up and and everyone thought they would be underdogs in the tournament only for them to completely turn the whole games around to become one of the best teams this WAFCON, it was unexpected but that just goes to show how people shouldn't counts teams out of the game when they haven't even seen what they can do, even teams like the Nigerian team seem to has disappointed people's expectations of them. Underestimating a team has actually been a lot of mistake that many gamblers still don't want to correct till now, and I think it's not helping us at all, because it's becoming their usual pattern. However, it is very simple to understand that football is getting more unpredictable as days go by, because we have been experiencing a lot of surprises in the long run. But we still don't want to believe that anything is possible to happen in the game. That may be but it's not like it's coming from nothing, we've seen their performance before and that's why when they start performing like the biggest team out there it is bound to raise interests, it's like an underdog suddenly becoming the best out there. It's a good thing that they are able to show the world that they are better then they were given credit for, hopefully they will keep performing this good.

I didn't care about their WAFCON performance but this World Cup play off against our biggest rival was something I was gearing for all week for us to finally have our revenge on the South Africa team - their Men took our WC slot and now the Women are doing the same thing to ours.

Oh i did care. And right from the opening fixture against Malawi, I was sure as hell weren't going no-where. It is not even about rivals, a different nation would have won us just the same way. You can see the girls emotional after the loss. The truth is that, their men didn't take shit from us, they earned the win, it was not given to them freely they fought and bleed to get it. I will say just the same for the women. This should be a wake up call for NFF but what do they care?! They don't give a monkeys left nut about upgrades and changes, they just want to splurge and splurge funds meant for development. I don't even lash out on our girls, all of my energy on the NFF. They're crooked asf.

When a team does better credits would be giving to them, several team shocked me in this year's competition and I'm impressed with their performance even though i feel bad that the Super Falcons couldn't maintain their legacy, the outstanding performance we've known them for, it's disappointing but I'll move past it and hope they comeback stronger. Well, the shocking performance of the likes of Malawi should encourage other teams that are not doing well in the competition to sit up, nothing is impossible therefore they should strive hard to get to the level Malawi has attained in this year's WAFCON. However, who do you think would win the trophy between Cameroon and Malawi?
