A lot of the comments post Nigeria - Madagascar game have been bashing the Super Eagles for conceding a goal. I don’t know how you guys have so much arrogance when it comes to this team. Nigeria isn’t one of the strongest teams in Africa imo. We have individually brilliant players but they are a pain to watch as a team. They should be happy Nigeria finally won the game from behind, imagine they had lost that game, what will they say then. I don't see Nigeria among the top two beat teams in West Africa, which means they won't be among the top five in the whole continent, yet some of us see them as a top team even these days. We are judging the super eagles based on passed glories. That era has past and this is a new one. We are not good enough, I have come to that reality that's why when they struggle to win games, I don't take it serious because I don't rate them that much again. Most of the time, I don't feel that enthusiasm to watch our matches, I prefer to do something else even when I have the time to watch.

Aside the fact that Osimhen is a professional finisher, he is also a hustler on the pitch and contributes to most ball recoveries and tackles as well. You could say that he does the work of both a midfielder and a striker, and that is a quality that would be difficult to replace in the Nigerian team. His absence was noticed, though the new recruits did a wonderful job securing Nigeria the win, but that performance was nothing close to what I expected.

It is rare to see a player that is committed to the growth of the Super Eagles than Victor Osimhen, we all know that when Nigeria was unable to qualify for the World cup, Victor Osimhen was very bitter about that development, yesterday despite the fact that he was not scheduled to play that, the youngster still came all the way from Turkey to come and give moral support to his teammate, he is just concerned about the growth of the super Eagles and even on the field of play the energy he brings to the table is second to none, I've taken time to understudy his person.

We have once had good players like Victor in the past and now that he has an injury, I love his energy and concerns to embrace the super eagles even when he was supposed to focus on other things that will contribute to his fitness at this stage of his career.
Osimhen is one player that don't care about the corrupt in the NFF even though salaries of players were not paid, he would still make sure that he encourage his team to play better and focus on what is ahead of them not just the money.

And from what we saw in that game, Nigeria had a better chance of winning. See the way Nigeria was struggling to beat Madagascar, and they want to go to the World Cup, and the guys are not trying at all, and they need to do better than what they played yesterday. If not, I am very sure that they will not go far, and I feel like those guys need some encouragement, and they will be able to do better. It's just very annoying how they are always struggling in their games, and I don't even know what to say because the last time they won anything, they didn't even have that confidence like the Super Eagles that we know.

At least let's give the Nigerian Super Eagles credit for winning the match instead of losing it. Scoring two goals is not an easy task, even though it is expected to be as cheap as possible for the Super Eagles to maintain a victory over Madagascar, but we also have to realize that the struggle to manage this success is real,  despite Madagascar also proving their strong abilities by scoring a goal. But the Nigerian Super Eagles are expected to do more than they are doing lately, and many are already losing confidence. But we also have faith in their future abilities.

It will be hard to disagree with you.
We know  that this is our reality and sadly there is nothing we can do from the sidelines.
It is obvious in my estimation that we have the potential to be a great team but leadership who know this and know what to do keeps stifling it.
Look at the boys who score these are folks that not know, now I imagine the thousand of others out there like them who through proper funding and training can be the new crop of Eagles that will restore the team back to glory.

Victor Osimhen is one player in the Super Eagles squad that basically has the growth of the team at heart. His anger during the world cup qualifiers when Nigeria failed to qualify is where I saw the passion he has for the national team. If Nigeria has two players with the mentality of Osimhen, the team world have been performing exceptionally well.

Osimhen is bigger than the NFF so there's even no reason for him to look at their shortcomings. His salary at Galatasaray alone can even pay most of the NFF staffs so why should he worry about unpaid allowances by the NFF. I just wish him quick recovery so that he can reunite with the squad and deliver his best performance as usual. We need players with tough mentality and great hunger for the team to succeed.

Nigeria has taken the lead 2-1 on the 65th minutes by the supersub Mosses Usor in his debut. I believe that after this goal, Nigeria will win the game because they have been dominating the game and winning possession but currently, they are controlling the game.

The two goals came from players playing their debut game for the Super Eagles. If they can score in their first game, it means that they will be good strikers to take the Super Eagles far because that is what they lack, a quality finisher apart from Victor Osimhen. Coming from a goal down to take the lead is impressive.

Congratulations to the super Eagles and we could see this is a start of a good thing. Just like we were discussing here the other day no player is irreplaceable as soon as you as a player because a star player and it starts getting difficult for you to feature in your national team you would easily be replaced by someone who is hungrier and ready to make a difference just like you.

You are in anyway correct because of the case of Osimhen being injured, not to be featured in Super Eagles Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches. Here we are, having Super Eagles winning against Madagascar without Osimhen and the new players had to score in their first match playing for Super Eagles.

Now, it's begining to feel that Super Eagles can play without Osimhen. The next match of  Super Eagles, Osimhen won't be featured in it because of his injury will last till early October

Sometimes when you have a team of over experienced players, you have such outcome as results and that is what I feel is the problem of our national team. Over squad is a problem with the team and when I watch their matches I just beg them to try be coordinated just to score goals and forget whatever skills on display they have to show on the pitch.
All I care is for them to work together as a team while Playing forgetting who scores the winning goal or who will be called out as the man of the match but as far as the team wins, that is all we want to hear that they were able to achieve.

Nigeria came from behind to win the African Cup of Nations League qualifier but I think they performed poorly in this match because Madagascar is not a top class team. Madagascar went ahead with a goal in just the 16th minute against Nigeria in the first match of the AFCON qualifiers but it can be said the Super Eagles managed to keep their confidence at home.

Meanwhile it's correct Moses Usor, who has been performing brilliantly for the Austrian club LASK, scored the winning goal in the 65th minute and delivered an outstanding performance in the match. Mind you these players may not be as experienced as Victor Osimhen and we think the Nigeria team lacks a finisher without this player from Galatasaray, so if these young players can perform well then maybe they too will be able to contribute to the Nigeria team like Victor Osimhen.

I can't believe I completely missed this match, I initially thought it will be played by 7pm. Reading the complaint from the fans, shows that we didn't play well today. Whenever osihmen is not playing, our playing ability and goal scoring reduces. One of the reason why we didn't qualify for the 2026 world cup was because osihmen was injured in the first part of the qualifiers, which made us struggle and most of our games then ended in draw. My expectations for this match was dominating and winning by 3 or more goal, I never knew Madagascar would perform well against us , in our own turf. Nevertheless we should be happy that we got a win, and try to prepare fully for the upcoming ones. At least the main goal is to secure the 3 points.

The Super Eagles must have underperformed in the African Cup of Nations League qualifiers as they could not dominate against Madagascar at home, in fact I imagined Nigeria to start the goal fest at our ground as they faced a weaker team. It is true that Nigeria has not been able to perform at a high level which has resulted in them not even qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, even at the present time, the team is showing average performances in the AFCON qualifiers. The team's attack section has been weakened mainly by the absence of Victor Osimhen, but Nigeria has players who excel at big clubs such as Ademola Lookman who plays well for Atletico Madrid and Victor Osimen also plays for Turkish League club Galatasaray.

Another thing is that Moses Usor scored a watershed goal for the Super Eagles against Madagascar in the 65th minute and I think the winger from Lask turned the game around with a solo effort in the second half, so it is conceivable that if these players perform well, Nigeria will be able to qualify for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

It is obvious you got the message people are passing very wrong because no one is bashing the Super Eagles for simply conceding a goal, people are not just satisfied with their performance. If we look at the quality of players the Eagles have, it would be expected that they will be able to give us beautiful football that will not give Nigerians high blood pressure when watching. You also confirmed this to be true and that is exactly what others are saying. I don't know how long it will take us to finally have a good team not a group of talented players and no team work.

It's actually a victory that our Nigerian Super Eagles were able to win yesterday's game against Madagascar on our home game. And considering the fact he "Karl" the Madagascar player was able to score the very first goal at 16 minutes into the game. It's obvious that would have placed a high tension in the minds of Nigerians at that stadium, thinking we were going to lose that game yesterday, but only to see a U-turn at the end of the first half when "IIenekhena" was able to score an equalizing goal and "Uzor" scored the second goal at 65minutes into the second half. As I'm sure this is what might have prompted alot of Nigerian into getting worry,  because they never thought Madagascar could ever be a challenge in yesterday's game at all. But moreover, that's football where everything is possible

I really don't understand what CAF is doing as regards this qualifiers for next year's AFCON. 3 nations will host the competition whichever are Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. These 3 nations are all in the group stages playing alongside other nations, the host nation gets an automatic ticket to the tournament, them partaking in this qualifiers is what I'm yet to understand. The groups these 3 nations falls under, are going to get 2 qualifiers from there excluding the hosts or are they going to get just a slot including the host. Why are the host nations playing or should I say competing with other nations? Why are they in the group?

I don't know about the statement of not producing a better goalkeeper, if you can trace back you would know that Nigeria has reduced so many wonderful goalkeeper as well as super star talents and sometimes these goalkeeper comes from even the local league because I believe there are a lot of good goalkeeper there that would do exceedingly great. As for the celebrations of the win against Madagascar, what do you expect to do again, I mean they got the win, so what if the whole scenario was a whole lot worse?.

You stated some reasons why they are often bashed and it's so much better that they are. Looking at the game and now seeing winning is not enough to save them for criticism is good and soon maybe some of thise mediocre act will be a thing of the past. We can do really much especially in our coming AFCON Competition.
