Why are you underrating Ronaldo's contribution to the national team? He helped Portugal win their only Euro Cup. You even called UEFA Nations League, yet many top teams have never won it. I would have to agree that Ronaldo's impact on the team has reduced drastically. Nevetherless you love or respect for Messi shouldn't make you undervalue the contributions of the Portuguese player. His speed and strength might have reduced, but his experience and influence are undeniable.
Whenever you hear Messi fans speaking, you will know from their tone. I heard someone saying here, Ronaldo fans are worshipping him or so as if he has see any of these said fans he's accusing with a rosary belonging to Ronaldo or a temple built with the face of Ronaldo before making such statements. But I understand it is same thing we are talking about here and it is just unnecessary to me some times even unfair. This does not limit to Messi fans alone but also Ronaldo fans who think body shaming Messi fans is the right thing to do should also stop it. Let everyone support who they want to support or be quiet as to who you don’='t know. It is better rather than disrespecting to the player in question and the fans who are out there supporting .

I think that every person has every right to prefer whoever they want, even if it isn't Messi or Ronaldo. Every person has their own idol and rightly so. It's not fair to choose for others. If someone claims that Messi is the best in the world it is right for them to believe it, just as if someone believes that Ronaldo is the best in the world it is right for them to believe it. There is no right and there is no wrong. One has won the World Cup, one will soon reach a thousand goals. Both two phenomena.

So the legacy is real. The story of the flag kid is true. Portuguese football is changing for real. All of it. I am just saying the most Ronaldo thing he ever did for Portugal might be what happens after he is gone. The generation he indirectly funded and accidentally suppressed is about to run riot. And nobody's going to give him credit for that either. Which is fair, fair to say.

The fact is that Ronaldo didn't ask for anything, he simply got it through what he did on the pitch, off the pitch. People admire him for the example that he is and not for what people think he is. He really is like that. He is a formidable player, an example to follow on and off the pitch, who comes from, from nothing in Madeira and who has managed to take his own national team to the top. He is an imposing player.

I completely agree with what you said about Ronaldo. he is a legend. He is outstanding, given the dedication he has shown to the world of football. It is only natural that he serves as a role model. It is rare to find a player so focused on maintaining his fitness and physical condition that he is still playing at his current age, having scored 979 goals and closing in on the 1,000 goal mark I find that truly extraordinary. The younger generation should emulate what Ronaldo has done. if young people want to succeed as professional players, they should follow the example of his hard work and high level of discipline.

However, what you said, I give the most importance to and that is, everyone in a team is the best player in their respective positions, because if everyone does not give their best in their respective positions, then a team can never reach a good position because a team can never be well organized by one player. From my point of view, everyone is the best player in each position.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the best football athlete that the history of football has ever seen, for what he demonstrated in the various teams he played for and for what he managed to win and achieve for the teams he played for and for himself. He is an incredible person, worthy of deserving the title of best player in football and a few goals away from becoming a legend as the best scorer of the sport.

This is why it is said that Argentina and FIFA loves Messi, while the world loves Ronaldo. Because Ronaldo has always had to sweat it all out. We see that there is a clear favoritism on the part of FIFA for Messi, while Ronaldo has always been seen with envious eyes, making him appear arrogant, etc. But Ronaldo is simply a self-made man who has never been given anything. Wink
Honestly i doubt these people if they even have watche a single game of football before saying this kind of nonsense. Messi has not gotten anything by favouritism, this is just a coping mechanism for Ronaldo fans after messi won the world cup, if he had been favored then where was the favouritism when he lost the worldcup final, where was it when he lost back to back copa americas, this propaganda only rose when Argentina won the worldcup, so this is something purely based on lies and not to be believed. Neither messi nor Ronaldo have gotten anything by favouritism both of them have gotten it for their hardwork and what they did on the pitch

I agree with you in some point . But I want to say  that Messi's individual performance was good. He even performed well in the World Cup. But if we talk about the Ballon d'Or, then in case of Messi, the team performance was also good, but considering the trophies, he could not win the World Cup. If Argentina had won the World Cup, then Messi would have definitely won the Ballon d'Or. Now Ronaldo is quite behind in terms of getting the Ballon d'Or, but if Spain wins the World Cup and Yamal is currently performing quite well for Barcelona and scoring goals, this will give him a lot of advantage. But the voting can be manipulated. Because Messi has already announced his retirement from the national team, if its  seen that voting with this sympathy, then maybe Messi can get the Ballon d'Or. But I do not think it will happen . And many people criticize this Ballon d'Or too because of thinking about manipulating and fake judgment . Considering all these aspects, I want the player who is really worthy to win the voting and win the Ballon d'Or.
I know Messi is a person who does amazing things with the ball, that's undeniable, but what bothers me is that he doesn't need help to achieve his goals, and obviously we all know he had help no, a huge amount of help to win the World Cup in Qatar. They couldn't give him the World Cup this time because everyone knows Argentina wasn't that unbeatable; they almost lost to Cape Verde, and there was help there too. Those things are annoying.

If Messi wins it, I don't care; in fact, I'm assuming he will. If Yamal wins, I don't see it as such a bad thing, even though he didn't do so well in the World Cup. As for Cristiano, he never had that kind of luck. First, FIFA, then the referees, and then his own team.

I never understood people who support a player instead of a club or a country. I mean, I understand that because the way football changed, especially with social media, the most famous players became their own brand, but I'll never understand those "fans" who cheer for the player instead of the team. But also, to be fair, this usually mainly happens with people from countries with basically no football culture, so in many case we have these Messi vs Ronaldo discussions between people who are somewhere in Asia or in Africa, so they literally have nothing to do with these players.

My prediction is that Spain will win the next 2030 World Cup again and that Yamal will be the best player.

There has never been an uncontroversial winning to the world cup or the balon d'or or any other major tournament. people will always find an excuse to give especially when it doesn't favor their GOAT. it is just a normal thing but deep down they know that regardless of your love for either of the GOAT, all the things that either of them have ever won comes from a place of merit. you don't get to the finals of the world cup by luck and all the times Argentina won the world up, it didn't happen just because they were a lucky team. Ronaldo's not winning the world doesn't still make him less of a GOAT. it takes a team to win the world cup and not just by the effort of a single individual

Both two of the players are indeed phenomenal and are icons the world will live to remember because they have achieved some remarkable achievements and accomplishments over those who we regard as their predecessors including the likes of Ronaldinho, Zidane, Samuel Eto, Thierry Henry among other world class footballers in the early 20s. This is also a testament of development in the history of foot ball based on what we have witnessed. But does this mean they are the only duo who the entire world take as idols? Absolutely no. There are still a lot of fans out there who do not prefer them than other players whom have made their idols. It also does not neglect the fact they are well recognised by these same set of people who do not take them as their idols. But their achievements and popularity have earned them the reverence and respect they have today.

For Portugal, he has dedicated his entire life to helping build a strong team mentality and has made a huge contribution to the many trophies the country has won. I'm sure that during the World Cup, the majority of those supporting Portugal are Cristiano Ronaldo fans. We'll see, once he retires, Portugal will certainly lose a great deal.

He remains the perfect player, the best player in the world and the best athlete i have ever seen in football. One for how he trains and for the consistency and consistency he puts behind this sport. Two for all the records broken, despite a FIFA that can be said to be against him and for the almost, it is incredible record of the thousand goals he achieved.

Those who are followers of Ronaldo talk about Messi in this kind of concept. I have seen many people do this before. People regularly commented on social media that FIFA management is helping Messi, deliberately making Argentina win, such things during the World Cup. When Argentina lost the World Cup, the referee consider every offensive defense of Argentina as foul, even gave Enzo Fernández a red card. After that, those who criticized them became completely silent. But there are still very few people who make illogical comments about Messi and Argentina. Maybe there is no player to compare with Messi's individual achievement now. This may not be good feelings for many Ronaldo fans. I personally think Ronaldo is a good enough player. He has his own individual achievement too, but maybe their team combination was not good enough for Portugal to give the expected output. But it is true that the way Argentina team help Messi in the same way  Ronaldo did not get their teammate. The combination with Ronaldo with his  team was not good i think.

And many people criticize this Ballon d'Or too because of thinking about manipulating and fake judgment . Considering all these aspects, I want the player who is really worthy to win the voting and win the Ballon d'Or.

Messi's performance was not subpar, on the contrary it was a match played excellently, because we must still consider that he too is now 39 years old and one would expect a decline in his performances, but in reality this decline does not yet seem to have arrived. This also made him play well during the World Cup and obviously also with the Miami club.

Cristiano is a player who had everything much harder. Going against FIFA, forging his own path that went against FIFA's interests is what everyone should see. Now, with the 2027 Ballon d'Or, Messi will surely win it.

It is not right to make decisions based on emotions. If you had an impartial view, you probably would not have said this. However, in the end, you are probably trying to improve the reputation of the person you supported, which is of course your personal matter.

I would never say, objectively, that FIFA or any other organization deliberately gives one player an advantage over another. The claim you are making may be your personal opinion, but there is no evidence for it. In football, we will usually have differences of opinion about players, men and decisions, because each person here values different things.

I can probably understand why so many people keep talking about Ronaldo and Messi, even though this is a thread about the 2030 World Cup. It's all because the 2030 World Cup will be the first World Cup in over 20 years where we won't constantly see phenomenal players like Ronaldo and Messi. It's similar to when Rossi retired from MotoGP, where all the MotoGP fans kept talking about Rossi even though he had retired. I think it's normal, considering we've watched both players in six consecutive World Cup editions, and in the next World Cup we can be sure they won’t be participating.

Yeah. I also share the same opinion with you about who will win the next World Cup trophy, which is Spain. The reason is pretty simple besides being one of the host countries, they also have a cohesive team, and their squad is filled with talented young players. You could say that this generation of Spanish players could even last until the 2034 World Cup because many of their players are still very young, and of course as champions they have high self-confidence.

Let's say that fans have their own idols, consequently perhaps they have an idol who plays in a club that is not the same as the one they support and consequently they simply support their idol, be it Ronaldo, Messi or any other player, it is right that everyone is free to admire and take as an example the player they prefer.

Without proper investigation or research, you cannot conclude that the rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo is more extreme in Africa and Asia than on other continents. So many factors might have contributed to this assumption, including social media feeds. It is common to see these arguments by Africans or Asians on TikTok, X, Facebook, and Instagram because of the youthful population of these continents. Africans have a large number of young, passionate football fans, which helps them dominate global sports discussions.

Not having popular or well-organised local leagues in these continents might have also contributed to the massive interest these young fans have in the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry. Since they don't have locally celebrated players, they focus on these football icons.

I have a feeling that everyone in this thread is talking too much about Messi and Ronaldo.
Ok, it's true, these are two great and fantastic players who have marked the last 20 years of European and world football, but this thread is not about them, but about the 2030 World Cup, in which neither Messi nor Ronaldo will almost certainly participate.
Isn't it time to talk about some other stars who will actually participate in the 2030 World Cup, such as Mbappe, Haaland, Yamal, Dembele, etc. and about their, and their national teams', chances at the 2030 World Cup?
Which national teams do you consider the favorites for the 2030 World Cup? Which player will be the best at the World Cup?
My prediction is that Spain will win the next 2030 World Cup again and that Yamal will be the best player.

I think people continue to talk about Ronaldo and Messi simply because they were the ones who left their mark on an entire generation that loved the real football, from the 2000s to today's modern football, which they continue to play. This is why we always talk about Ronaldo and Messi and they are always used as a yardstick for comparison with other players, because they have arrived where no one else will ever arrive.

If Messi were to win another Ballon d'Or it is obviously clear to everyone that FIFA, or in any case whoever is behind this kind of recognition, is a clear fan of Messi. Because there are players who deserve much more. In the end he is simply grateful for a World Cup final this year, where he certainly demonstrated his skill despite his age, but he achieved nothing else, playing in a championship like the American one. There are players who really deserve much, much more.

I absolutely agree.
You couldn't have said anything more right. Both Ronaldo and Messi have always encouraged each other equally for twenty years. Everyone has always tried to prove they are the best and this has made them great and eternal in this sport. This is why i think there will never be a pair of players who can be compared to them.
