Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

same here..AMD Hd7970  doesnt even pick up the card
Please let me know how to proceed.

EDIT just to add to this  the last version picks up my card just fine.. Im running the latest crimson drivers for hd 7970.. ver 15   Windows 10

What i think amd/Windows10 doesn't like is they tried to put in some older version of amd drivers.. If you look at the github it says they included the drivers needed.. Well im sure with the grip windows 10 has over my pc. im certain it wont allow for you to load old drivers over top of what i have loaded currently.. Maybe a good place to start your troubleshooting..

"included AMD OpenCL dynamic link libraries, thus making sgminer run optimal regardless of installed AMD drivers"  >> This is what has changed from last version.  most likely the culprit

Issues with GPUs not being detected is related to bundled amdocl dll's. We bundled amdocl dll's in this release to make it more driver-proof, but it seems that there are some conflicts, especially with latest Crimson drivers.

The solution is to delete the files:

Code:
amd_opencl32.dll
amdocl.dll

from the folders

Code:
..\bin\sgminer-5-1-0-optimized
..\bin\sgminer-5-1-1-optimized
..\bin\sgminer-5-2-1-general

under your NiceHash Miner basic folder. After that GPUs should be detected fine and mining should work. We'll release a patch with even better driver handling.

Unfortunately AMD is making a total mess out of their drivers ... every newer release is having incompatibility, stability or performance issues.

For now the best and most stable driver for mining is the 15.7.1 driver. We strongly suggest you to use this driver.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick fix.. Ill test this out now and let you know how this works out..

THIS does FIX it  Grin  Thanks again  will do some benchmarking now and see if it gets thru precision ok..

How friggin long does the standard benchmark take???!!! It recognized the cards and for the last hour this repeats over and over in the log:   (different times obviously)

Which GPU do you have?

If you have AMD Pitcairn/Tahiti/Hawaii, then try running manually runme.bat in the "..\bin\sgminer-5-1-0-optimized" folder.

If you have other AMD GPUs, try running manually runme.bat in the "..\bin\sgminer-5-2-1-general" folder.

Do you see sgminer hashing? Can you switch to other algorithms by switching pools - press [P] in the sgminer window?

Benchmark never does anything for me. Running the runme.bat in 5-2-1-general gets sgminer hashing, but it loads "fixed", so I changed their order in the .bat so AS loads instead of fixed. It is hashing x11 right now and the site says that is the best for the moment.

Same as others, when i run the bat both the gpus in the rigs say error failure enqueueing "failure" disabling. Works great with standard sgminer.

I have strange fan up and down behaviour on  4x7950 rig (15.7.1) with cards overheating.
 Other pools working perfectly, only with new Nicehash miner?

Crimson were not reckognising cards so I reversed back to 15.7.1.

Got Nicehash running, Windows 10, latest SDK, 12.7.1 drivers, deleted the two amd files out of the 3 sgminer folders, ran precise benchmark. Both Cpu and GPU seem to be hashing but my card doesn't seem to be taxed as it's quite cool, I've had no shares submitted with neoscrypt, I was just curious if that's cause I'm not hashing fast enough to get a share before a block is cleared or something else.. A little help would be appreciated, Thanks!http://i63.tinypic.com/9ftcld.jpg

You probably mean 15.7.1 drivers, not 12.7.1 drivers, yes? Wink

This hash rate is wrong, neoscrypt should give a few hundred Kh/s, not Mh/s.

Try one more thing -> delete all *.bin files in the "..\bin\sgminer-5-2-1-neoscrypt" folder and run runme.bat in the same directory. Do you see a speed of few hundred Kh/s (like 0.100 Mh/s)?

If not, then there must be another joyful combination of issues with neoscrypt + amd drivers + Windows 10 ...

temp target is hard coded to 75C, I want to change it, initial start is delayed if checking for a new version hangs.

You can edit config.json in the NiceHash Miner directory and edit --temp-target in the group "Name": "AMD_OpenCL" for each algorithm.

Windows 10 64 bit  xfx hd 7970
Been messing with this most of the day.. So what ive done so far. is

Started with crimson drivers 15.20.  had to delete those two files and it allowed it to work. When i did the benchmark it was able to run through all the coins.. It did however terminate on nist5 and keccak  neoscrypt was less then 1 mhs but i didnt think to write it down till now that i have issues like the above poster.

So after reading your post i downgraded to 15.7.1.. All is good.. first thing right off i didnt have to delete those two files in the three folders..(I restored them to test)  ran the benchmarks.. Noticed a slight improvement on x11 right off. from 10.4 mhs to 11.1 mhs

What is odd tho and ive tried your solutions is the neoscrypt.. shows me being able to mine at over 130 mhs.. Which is .3 btc a day.. That would be great but it never submits a share

List of speeds on each algo.. Let me know if any of these seem off or really poor. Not sure what to compare it to..

x11 = 11.4mhs
x13 = 4.2 mhs
keccak = terminated
nist5 = terminated
neoscrypt = 125 mhs
whirlpoolx = 102 mhs
qubit = 11.1 mhs
quark = 14.6 mhs
lyra2rev2 = 11. 9 mhs
AMD XFX HD7970 3 gb

These numbers are all very good, with the exception of neoscrypt -> this hash rate is wrong, neoscrypt should give a few hundred Kh/s, not Mh/s.

If you still getting 100+ mhs on neoscrypt, then neoscrypt is obviously completely broken on win 10 (+some combination of drivers most probably). In this case open config.json in NiceHash Miner folder and enter

"BenchmarkSpeed": 0.0,

in the "Name": "neoscrypt", configuration section. This will effectively disable neoscrypt.

when running both CPU and GPU mining, when all CPU cores are being used it drops GPU hashrate, is it possible when X less CPU threads are being used, the GPU miner to have affinity to use only those free X CPU cores.

Sure, see Config parameter LessThreads: https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMiner#options ... so if you want one core to be free, set LessThreads = 1, if you want two cores to be free, set LessThreads = 2, etc.
