curious question ? why are you guys mining with NVidia and AMD video cards ? do you have asic miners like Avalon , Bitmain , Spondoolies just to name a few. even though video cards are asic's but real slow for mining. or your just having fun ?
GPUs are non ASICs. Some algos can only be mined with GPUs and can at times, and depending on your electricity cost, be profitable (quark, x11, neoscypt and lyra2v2 for example).

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

mine is more jsut having fun.(i run 27 ths on kano.is). I have my hd7970 making about a 1$ a day.. I know its not much and im certain its costing me money. but its using up my vid card which i dont use for gaming. And i have the rewards going straight to my trezor. Make for a nice rainy day fund a few years down the road. Dunno if this happens to anyone else but... I just downloaded nicehash miner and catalyst driver it suggested (15.7.1?). I'm using windows and 3 x R9 280X per rig. When I was mining with sgminer basic I set up my fan speed using afterburner. Now everytime I turn on nicehash miner my fan speed drops to 25% or less and my GPU temperature slowly rises to 92 or higher (haven't dared to watch how high it climbs).
Even when I try to manually set the fan speed using afterburner the fans speed get turned down when I turn on nicehash miner. Normal ?
YES the new version completely ignores the values you have set in the config file.. Forgot that in my earlier post Best Regards d57heinz You can set vent speeds and temps up at settings->Groups->4(for ATI)->Agorithms->ExtraLaunchParameters ( foe each ) ...

Soon as it loads that file my card crashes and has to reboot to fix it. Best Regards d57heinz

OK I am not complaining, long may it continue, but does anyone know why Nicehash has been paying well over the odds on SHA256 for the last 24 Hours? In the past I have been able to track it down to someone buying Hash to try an get an overdue Block on Slush's Pool, but this time that does not seem to be the case. Rich

Best Regards d57heinz ok for those that upgraded to 1.2.3 you need to along with copying the files (clean install no need to bother with this).. delete the config. json.. or make a backup by renaming the file... The old config does not include instructions for nicehashminer to operate the x15 properly.. If you delete it and rerun the miner it creates a new file then you can open both and make the necessary edits to get it going like you had it.. hope that helps best regards d57heinz

Hard to read the speed on those small images. Looks like 1Th/s or 10Th/s but can't read the decimal places.

Hello,
I'm SUPER new to this world... Got my hands on an Antminer S2, got it running and all, but on the Stats page it shows that Extranonce subscription is off... I've tried reading up on it, etc. but can't figure out how to make that work?
My CG Miner:
Cgminer Version 4.9.1+
Not sure if that helps...
Thanks,

@Truman AntMiner S7 supports extranonce.subscribe out of the box, simply enable it by putting #xnsub at the tail of pool stratum connection: stratum+tcp://sha256.eu.nicehash.com:3334#xnsub or stratum+tcp://sha256.usa.nicehash.com:3334#xnsub You can also use other locations, see here: https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=gstarted#seller@Nortron Antminer S2 is unfortunately too old and does not support extranonce.subscribe. The only workaround for you would be to setup Stratum proxy, see here: https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=asicBest regards, NiceHash team.

how does this help me "#xnsub" what has that for a benefit?
Our service is working as a proxy, forwarding and aggregating hashing power from connected miners to the orders that buyers submit. Work on orders is dynamic -> orders are being created, deleted, etc. and therefore miners have to switch between these orders. If one does not enable extranonce.subscribe (#xnsub), it's miner will be disconnected and re-connected immediately to new order - and this disconnection requires your miner to start working on new jobs, causing a small performance drop during the re-connection. This might happen once in a while, usually several times per day. This is where #xnsub comes into play. If you enable it, your miner will never re-connect, it will be constantly connected and will be switching to new jobs automatically without disruption, thus making your mining fully stable. It a small, but not negligible improvement, therefore all miners are encouraged to utilize extranonce.subscribe (#xnsub). Best regards, NiceHash team.
