Nicehash

thank you for the miner ... very nice ... but i have one question.

how do i limit which coins i mine....

it seems that my gtx 970 always defaults to quark. and X11 or X13 is 3 times better return?
X11   3336   0.1610 *  1665%   0.1558 *
X13   3337   0.2121 *  1678%   0.1852 *

Quark   3345   0.0932 *  500%   0.0928 *

Huh

under the extra settings can i disable algo's i dont want to mine?

thank you for your time !!!

The profitability as it is displayed on our web page is only the default profitability, based on our generally set multi-algo ratios (https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=multialgo). These ratios can be completely different for a particular GPU. That's what the "benchmark" is for in the NiceHash Miner - it calculates the ratios based on the performance of your particular GPU for each algorithm and later on mines the algorithm that is most profitable for your GPU -> this can of course be different from generally set multi-algo ratios as displayed on our web page. To make is short -> do not worry, if you did the benchmark, then NiceHash Miner will always mine the most profitable algorithm for you.

Best regards,
NiceHash.

are you going to release the source for the miner - so that we can compile a linux version? ...

or have i missed this somewhere that you already have? ...

NiceHash Miner is completely open-source (https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMiner).

And all the actual mining apps that NHM is using in the background are open-source as well (https://github.com/nicehash/sgminer, etc.).

But you can't simply "compile" NHM for Linux, it would have to be ported to Linux ...

Seems like global rate is falling as BTC value rises.  Is that a valid correlation from the past rates or does there seems to be added capacity due to more miners?

I think it's because most altcoin prices are going down: people are sell their GPUs.

We would recommend either some AMDs 280x / 7970 / 7950 from second market or some NVIDIA with compute capability 5.2 (Maxwell) GTX 970, GTX 960, etc.

apparently the new amd nano and fury x are incredibly powerful - which includes the 980ti series - if you dont have a major limit on your budget Smiley ...

i havent tried them personally - but looking forward to getting it all setup when funds are available next year ...

I'm unable to get the Nicehash Miner to work properly.
I'm unable to finish the benchmarks. Most of the time they just hang. I let the miner run the benchmark for an hour and it finished X11 and after that nothing.

I've tried to cherrypick some of the algos to benchmark and some of them work and other just hang/stop.

I'm having problems on understanding what to put on the worker field. If I use my bitcoin address like I'm supposed to, the client tries to connect to the stratums with user mybtcaddress.mybtcaddress..

I use eu stratums normally, but if I try to benchmark with them I cannot get connection. US seems to work sometimes.

What to do?

I'm using AMD gpu on Win10 with latest drivers. Mining X11, X13, Lyra2REv2, Qubit, Quark etc works just fine with my old sgminer settings mined individually, but can't get them to work on the benchmarks so I'm unable to use the algo-switching...

Hello,

A new version of NiceHash Miner has just been released. The new version 1.2.1.0 brings highly optimized AMD GPU mining for popular X11 (+100%), Quark (+50%) and Lyra2REv2 (+200%) algorithms on AMD Pitcairn, Tahiti and Hawaii GPUs along with some additional new features and bug fixes. The significant boost in X11, Quark and Lyra2REv2 algorithms are shown here when mining on four GPUs: R9 280X (Tahiti), 7950 (Tahiti), R9 290x (Hawaii) and 7870 (Pitcairn): https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=news&id=53

This is mandatory upgrade for users with AMD GPUs. After upgrading to this release re-run the Precise benchmark if you are using AMD GPUs. And remember - NiceHash Miner is a truly easy-to-use Windows software that will quickly turn your PC, workstation or server into money-making machine. Detailed description, application options and even full source code is available on the GitHub page.

Go ahead and get it here: download here!

Best regards,
NiceHash team
