Always better to sell the shovels then to mine with them  Grin

Hence the birth of mining pools with near to zero hardware minus the servers to track everything, no asic's to constantly update nor worry about the diff increases.

Exactly my point these guys are getting over like a fat rat ! they use a free ISP so the only thing they pay for is the servers "one time cost" and there electric bill. no miners must be real cheap !

What's the point of this then? Why the people are renting power if there's no profit?
You rent hashpower to mine a (selected by you) shitcoin, and sell it when it pumped. You can make +100%-150% profits (or more).
risky? yes. You can loss money? yes.  This is such a game, "without risk there is no victory" Smiley

Here we go again not another coin pumper or should I say SHIT PUMPER/SCAMMER.

Would like a little help/explanation.

First time I bought hashrate from nicehash.

I deposited 2 btc.

I placed a FIXED order SHA256  200TH @ 0.045.

They took all 2 BTC for that order, which expired after 24 hours.

They said they would refund the extra 1.1 btc after order expired.

It has only been a few hours since order expired but no credit back of 1.1 btc.

1.  How long will it take for NICEHASH to refund the 1.1 btc?

2.  OK, I learned that fixed orders only last max 24 hrs (When I placed the order, I left btc amount at zero and assume that is why nice hash took the entire balance?), so in the future when I place a fixed order:  Should I enter btc amount just under the 24 hr amount so that I don't tie up my unused btc?  (previous example I should have entered 0.85 max 200TH)  can someone confirm?

3.  Is the anyway to see exactly how many shares I received for my past order?  I can see exactly how many shares went to my pool, I would like to compare what nice hash charged me for.

Thank You!

Why are fixed price orders being canceled by your system as 'Placeholder Order'??

This is the 2nd time recently this is happening. The pool is fine as other rentals and miners are on it 100% reliably...

Please take a look at this FAQ: https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=faq#faqb13

Obviously your selected target pool is disconnecting form our service. We suggest you to contact your selected target pool.

The pool is fine. I have other miners and rentals, even normal rentals form nicehash going to it with no issues.

I just tried it again. Created a large fixed price rental to teh same pool I always use. Gone after a minute saying it's  placeholder order....??

As we can see, your refund was processed. It usually takes only a couple of minutes, however today we had a backlog of orders and order refunding process took a bit longer. Sorry for the delay and thank you for using our service!

Best regards,
NiceHash team.

I am still going through the scrypt coins at ispace.co.uk, but by in large, it seems NiceHash needs to tweak their scrypt settings to allow for their miners to actually get established and mining.  Far too many of these coins are failing because the target difficulty at the pool is too small.  Well, as best as I can tell, iSpace requires about two full minutes of hashing before it settles on an average for the work difficulty.  And by then, NiceHash turns the window red -- disconnecting from it, which then restarts the whole process of negotiating a work difficulty.  It'd be nice if iSpace would figure out a difficulty sooner than a full 2 minutes.  But it'd also be nice if NiceHash was a little more forgiving on the slow ramp up speed for these more obscure scrypt coins.  And for my testing, I always used the lowest speed -- 0.1 GH/sec, or 100MH/sec.

Best regards,
NiceHash team.
I'm having issues with neoscrypt, 750ti rig and hashrate went down from tiny bit over 1MH to .233 MH

Also while benchmarking I set reset all my benchmarks and let it run precise on the newest version and on qubit it gave zero hashrate.

I tried using the full version instead of the upgrade and got the exact same results. Not sure what's going on, for now I reverted back to the previous version.

i will say tho for the first time when i tried to benchmark the keccak was working instead of timing out. got 310 mhs ..in middle of x15 it locked up tho.

edit goin back to 1.2.2.2 for now

Dunno if this happens to anyone else but... I just downloaded nicehash miner and catalyst driver it suggested (15.7.1?). I'm using windows and 3 x R9 280X per rig. When I was mining with sgminer basic I set up my fan speed using afterburner. Now everytime I turn on nicehash miner my fan speed drops to 25% or less and my GPU temperature slowly rises to 92 or higher (haven't dared to watch how high it climbs).

Even when I try to manually set the fan speed using afterburner the fans speed get turned down when I turn on nicehash miner. Normal ?

It seems that Nicehash has a general problem at the moment.
All algos at nicehash/westhash display 0.000 hashrate.

Please every week this is happening I have not seen it go more than a week without this problem since I joined this pool please CHANGE YOUR ISP or GET BETTER POOL SOFTWARE !

Also don't get any HW errors on any pool but yours.

curious question ? why are you guys mining with NVidia and AMD video cards ? do you have asic miners like Avalon , Bitmain , Spondoolies just to name a few. even though video cards are asic's but real slow for mining. or your just having fun ?

mine is more jsut having fun.(i run 27 ths on kano.is). I have my hd7970 making about a 1$ a day.. I know its not much and im certain its costing me money. but its using up my vid card which i dont use for gaming. And i have the rewards going straight to my trezor. Make for a nice rainy day fund a few years down the road.

YES the new version completely ignores the values you have set in the config file.. Forgot that in my earlier post
