I use Kraken, because I can. Meaning: I only trade w/ around 1 BTC at a time, and a feel like a huge whale at Kraken. Hopefully, more people will start trading there and volume will increase, but for my 1 BTC, it seems okay. Smiley

Kraken is only for crypto trading... right ? Do they allow FIAT ?

You can trade BTC against fiat at Kraken, but before getting too excited, be aware that liquidity and volume is extremely low. I found that there was too much slippage for me to trade there. I like the platform, though.

Exactly. You can be a 1 BTC super whale at Kraken. But your position can get smashed if you try to pump it or dump it. There's all these .05 traders that will cut you down! Tongue

Haven't tried Kraken before, but someone claimed the site scammed his €2436 and disabled his account.

After the fall of Mt. Gox ...I think this is very important Q to all Bitcoin newbies like me.

I have been using btce only for months, and everything (deposit, trading, withdrawal) have been working well for me. Smiley

To get $$ in, I use Coinbase. Interested to see if Circle brings anything better to the table there. As far as a real exchange (trading platform), I prefer BTC-E. Least lag, atomic trading engine, and crazy swings that I love to catch. Cheesy

There are many claims out there. For example many people have come out to say that cryptsy stole from them. In many cases those were just impatient people that thaught posting accusations here before contactint the exchanges support would be a great idea.

I like BTC-e.

BTC-e is one of the most reliable exchanges, trusted by thousands of traders, and with it you can buy not only bitcoins but other cryptos as well.

Used to use MtGox back in 2012, then switched to Bitstamp, before MtGox died. It just seemed better.

True, the fee for wire transfer deposit is slightly higher in btce, but the price is slightly low as well.
Not quite sure about the selling side of the story, as I am hodling. Tongue

I did from bit australia or spendbitcoins, or on IRC for the best deals.. to swap alt for btc and vice versa I use btc-e and then bter if I want something btc-e doesnt have. I would say btc-e is one of the most bug free exchanges around and definatly one of the most honest!

It takes time for withdraws and deposits to confirm, so not really. Unless you try with a large amount of money, you won't profit.

how many confirmation did they need to confirm our deposit?
hmm, try large amount seem too risky, if prices go down a lot Sad
