How about Fleence (from Macbeth), or bleen (from whale taxonomy)?
Privacy/Security overtures would go a long way in everyone liking the name Lock? Doberman?

Jon because I would like to see a viable competitor to Monero.
I think Rune is juvenile gaming shit. But go ahead if you want. No skin off my back. Good luck with Rune.

Suggestion for name change:
Network name: Enciphering {Protocol|Network} Currency name: ECR XCR
en·ci·pher enˈsīfər/ verb gerund or present participle: enciphering
convert (a message or piece of text) into a coded form; encrypt.
Even Ciphering or Cipher is a good name. Having "ring" at the end of it adds a nice touch, since it's focused on ring signatures.

Network name: Enciphering
Good. Shorten to Ciphering The currency units would be ciphers. "Pay me 5 ciphers please". Rune reminds me also of Dune, sounds like a Harrison Ford sci-fi movie.

lol this has to be a joke right? bleen? fleence? why not bleenfleence? Sorry, I don't really have anything better, and I don't mean to ridicule. I have to agree with anonymint (and I do hold a little bbr) that rune is no bueno, imo. I like boolberry. If people don't like the berry, maybe boolring? Not boolshit. Boolring could be XBR, close to same ticker. Enciphering sounds decent. Certainly has a nicer ring than rune, secore, or vortex to my ear, and incorporates "ring", which is at least relevant.

Well at least the wheels are in motion now and we realize how tough the most trivial thing can be.
Rebranding is happening. Those who were unable to accept the new names, let your voices be heard in a more productive way please.

I don't like this insistence on having a mathematical/coding/encryption angle to the name - it only means anything to us, it only impresses some of us - real people don't give a shit. Also, all this stealth stuff, it's just too polarising, it's as likely to put off just as many as it attracts - BTC still carries the Silk Road baggage around. In the wider world it is much more important that people are not intimidated by the name - it's going to take a leap of imagination on new users parts just to begin to get their heads round crypto - lets not scare them off before they've even tried. Edit: Oh, and anything ending in "ring" just makes me think of cockring, but maybe that's just me...... did I say that out loud?

So here is the challenge which we found when talking with Zoidberg.
He seems to dislike the easy words that end in coin, notes, rings and the likes. Believe me the names thrown so far are de-ja-vu all over again. I notice at least 3 names so far in this page which I myself came up with and had already suggested to him a while ago and he rejected those. I know they are catchy and they fit so well.

You realize that BBR is filling a niche for people that want the highest and most secure cryptocurrency, one with complete and total anonymity? BBR isn't competing with bitcoin. Bitcoin can't provide privacy and autonomy. There are hundreds of coins competing with bitcoin. Most, probably all, will lose. BBR is competing against the powers of the world that don't want people to have privacy and autonomy.

plz make suggestions clearly Rune was not liked by a lot of people, but you are the only one finding something wrong with ciphers so far it is crypto, I think people can handle ciphers Most importantly I can market with "ciphers" as it is really a neutral word, also the google test shows a bunch of links about cryptography
