The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Ok thanks for that info, we are not far off. Will there be any updates that need to be installed on the users end? There will be a point release soon with some important bug fixes (mentioned in the dev-meeting and a few days back on IRC as well). Furthermore, you should be running any 0.9.x version (preferably 0.9.2 when it's out). The fork is close at hand. Any one heard or read any new news around this?

Yes, load the mnemonic seed into simplewallet and ask for the view key. Obviously do this with due care for your security since the mnemonic seed itself (but not the view key) will allow spending the coins

You can just use http://xmr.llcoins.net/ as well. Always remember keeping your mnemonic safe is of utmost importance.

Support the Monero network by hiring a pre-installed full node for just 4$ / monthRecently I switched provider (more expensive, higher specs for simultaneously running a Bitcoin node) and I was wondering what to do with my current Monero node. It hurts a bit to just let it go, especially because it just runs great and is cheap. It is hosted at MikroVPS.eu for 4$ per month and they accept bitcoin (and so Monero through XMR.to). So I was thinking there may be more users like me (I struggled hard but had great help from the community), who would like to support the Monero network but are not that much experienced configuring a Linux server. Therefore I would like to check if there is any interest in extending a fully hosted Monero node: You can pay the equivalent of 4$ in Monero or Bitcoin, and the node will run for another whole month. You can check whether it is online here (just zoom in a little bit) since it is the only node running in the area. Specs of the node, still valid till 2016-03-21- 25 GB harddisk - 512 MB RAM - 250 GB bandwidth - Ubuntu Linux 15.10 x64 - IP: 185.112.158.127The Monero node is running from Hungaria, Budapest and is nicely filling up a gap on the map of Europe:Some statistics of the last few weeks:Monero address: 45dBwTfM1oFGVWEosmtxTeEXQpWMvvzf8cPaELkNsebNPZMcRaX3P8V1eF5afBS9LW1xJbMPYkteM8W bbu56K9kJSwvSrrB Bitcoin address: 1B3cZEg1oGnXpgjhkTJGpP9G4LNPWTXk1D

It is nice to see her mention Monero. Trezor integration will be very helpful for BOTH security and attracting new users.

That's awesome. It's substance like this that differentiates Monero from the pretenders. I'm confident that it will be *the* platform for financial privacy for many years to come.

Hello, Guys,
I'm looking for major XMR holders for the purpose of doing OTC(over the counter) deals to acquire this currency without moving market prices at exchanges. I'll start buying April/May on behalf of my clients and continue to do so for at least a year.
If you are interested, send me a pm or an email, with these details: Minimum amount i could buy from you, maximum amount i could buy in one operation, your preferred payment method and how to get in touch with you.

I'm still trying to set up my computer to run Linux. I haven't had much time to mess with it, but when I do I'd be willing to pay for it and use that.

Guys, i would have a technical question. Is a newly generated wallett in 0.91 fully encrypted Yes assuming you use a password (ideally a good one). Okidoki, thanks I would suggest as a password. It's a good one. In all seriousness you can make a password REALLY long (like 100+ random characters) and just recover with your seed words instead as needed. If you want to use your password in the future of course you need to actually record it.
