Is it possible to make the address shorter wallet?
If you have a domain name, then you can use the openalias feature, by adding a text record associating your domain name with your wallet address. For instance, if you send monero to jwinterm.myrcraft.com from simplewallet, then it will be sent to my wallet address.

Monero is superior to Zcash as its technology is well peer reviewed, it needs no trusted setup and it has first mover advantage. Having the GUI out before Zcash launch will enable it to occupy a significantly larger market segment.

I am not sure what makes you think that GUI will be out in a week. You eat to much Vanilla?

I think it will be out before Zcash launch as I heard devs were planning on releasing it. Having the GUI out before ZCash Launch will help us to win arguments that will follow. Regarding Vanilla, I do not follow it anymore, it had its chance but didn't use it. However, I wish vanilla team and their supporters best of luck. It may catch my attention again but not at this moment. In crypto, as in any other venture, timing is very important.

Is it possible to rescan blockchain from exact block only please? How?
I typed rescan_bc 1100000 and it starts from beginng.
I don't want to scan all blockchan, it takes a lot time, it's enough start scaning from cca block nr. 1100000.

Those people who write about the lowering of the failure is not done about the wallet and so on, are just jealous further development and growth of investments in coins, as well as they are not holders of Shares (coins), which proves their behavior. So do not pay attention to them and to all a good day.

So what? It's not like he has any special insight on the matter... Don't worry about Zcash, just ride it and use your profits to buy moar monero.

No, but you can use Open Alias. Like this: donate.moneroblocks.info I looked around on the OpenAlias site -- maybe I'm just dim LOL but I don't see exactly how to do this? Example, I own my own name as a dot-com domain (just use for personal stuff, file storage etc) and I have a Monero wallet address I'd like to associate publicly with my name. So assuming... Name is Joe Smith and I own JoeSmith.com and the Monero address is 44AFFq5kSiGBoZ4NMDwYtN18obc8AemS33DBLWs3H7otXft3XjrpDtQGv7SqSsaBYBb98uNbr2VBBEt 7f2wfn3RVGQBEP3A ...what exactly do I need to do?

Log into your domain host and add a TXT record with the following text: oa1:xmr recipient_address=44AFFq5kSiGBoZ4NMDwYtN18obc8AemS33DBLWs3H7otXft3XjrpDtQGv7SqSsaBYBb98uNbr2VBBEt7f2wfn3RVGQBEP3A; recipient_name=Joe Smith; Name your TXT record "tip" if you want the Monero address to be "tip.JoeSmith.com" or leave it blank if you want it to be just "JoeSmith.com".

Thanks for the quick reply... I'll try it Any particular "file permissions" or anything else that needs to be set on the file, which I'm assuming is just a simple plain TXT file uploaded to /html "ROOT" of the domain hosting server?

I just did it with Zcoin Careful there with Zcoin. The founders don't have stellar reputations: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1638450.msg16515564;topicseen#msg16515564Personally, I'm steering clear.

https://freedom-to-tinker.com/2016/10/21/bitcoin-is-unstable-without-the-block-reward/We reexamine this assumption in our paper, and our findings make disturbing news for the future security of Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies. Our key insight is that with only transaction fees, the variance of the miner reward is very high due to the randomness of the block arrival time, and it becomes attractive to fork a “wealthy” block to “steal” the rewards therein. Here’s how things could go wrong. Due to the possibility of profitable forking, the default strategy is no longer best; we lay out a menagerie of interesting and bizarre strategies in the paper. The most worrisome is “undercutting,” where miners capture as little of the available transaction fees as they can get away with, leaving the rest in the pool as an incentive for the next miner to extend their block rather than a competing block. It'll be interesting to see whether or not the 0.3 BTC XMR emission rate will be sufficient to ward off this problem described.

If we have good data based on real research to indicate some alternative amount I'm not so certain that that specific particular value is immutably baked into the social contract. The concept of a tail emission is. But not the exact specific value.
