selling monero.org.uk for just 500 monero

selling xmr.org.uk for 550 monero

Are there people really interested in .uk domains??
I mean in general, I think just .org or .com is always more than enough, the .co.uk it's just useless plus with Brexit within a couple of years maybe, just maybe, UK will no longer exists...

I think beside Bitcoin the world need another couple of cryptocurrencies trusted and enough widespread as a real alternative.
If for example Bitcoin will have some problems like Segwit adoption, not enough privacy or whatever critical situations then it will be really necessary to use another coin...

Ethereum and Ripple are not really currencies suitable for transactions in the real life.

Litecoin, even if it was around for a lot more years than Monero, have been overtake by Monero which now has got the third highest capitalization.

Will be in the near and mid term future, Monero the first alternative to Bitcoin?

When I check the SHA256 hash of the releases I download from github, I'm worried that both the download link and the published hash could have been compromised and I'd never know... until my coins are gone that is!

Are/should the hashes be published in the Monero blockchain, since it's immutable? Maybe I'm being overly paranoid  Roll Eyes

Get the Monero tree. Import fluffypony's GPG public key from there (94B7 38DD 3501 32F5 ACBE  EA1D 5543 2DF3 1CCD 4FCD). Check the signature on the hashes file matches that public key. From then on, you don't need to redo the key import, unless fluffypony changes his key.

See https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/315/how-can-someone-verify-that-the-source-downloaded-from-github-is-genuine/316#316 for a more thorough way of ensuring you always get a non MITM'd git tree too.

Scotland had a referendum to leave the UK and will likely have another. It is possible there could be no more UK one day, if other countires wish to leave also.

Monero has resisted that pump time of Bitcoin market. There is going to be another money pouring into alternative coins and Monero will be one of the biggest winner by having large portion of that money. It will grow more within days and we may see new all times high for Monero with more stability.

yes, maybe if Scotland and then North Ireland will leave UK then they say it could change name from Great Britain to just Britain or more likely to "Little Britain"
In this scenario I was thinking maybe from being called also United Kingdom , then it will be called just "Kingdom", short from "K" which is even more handy to type shorter

I'm not that guy on the webpage. Othe said he talked to him and he's just some Romanian guy that has owned that domain for like ten years, and for some reason just keeps only a picture of himself posted on there.

What's the point of using a platform like Coinbase if your privacy is sacrificed to the government? At best Coinbase services those who don't care about privacy or government oversight into their finances. Any sane individual would use other methods to exchange. The purpose of anonymous currencies is to keep finances anonymous..
http://motherboard.vice.com/read/irs-demands-identities-of-all-coinbase-traders-over-two-year-period

Fluffypony has gained at least 50 pounds since his last profile picture. Maybe he needs to lose some weight and get back on track with what's important (the project) instead of bending the knee to suck armstrongs cock for a Coinbase XMR pair.

https://github.com/fluffypony/bitmonero/commit/014708fe71c1379af281ca9ac17e82c159e98e6d

lol Smiley

Monero devs (particular fluffypony) have no idea what they do Smiley

^Best true quote in crypto from a real developer and I can't agree more.. be it code, managing online wallets (thefts) or project direction - Fluffypony has no idea what he's doing. It's taken him three years to organize a basic QT GUI and the community is hyping that as the next best thing since the original Bitcoin QT.. The only thing that's actually worked out was his Oasis DNM scam but we all know that won't last forever. A DNM (oasis) pops up just long enough to add XMR and convince AB to get in on the pump and dump then goes offline to avoid legal ramifications.. Seems legit.. At some point you have to show commerce and user adoption instead of these hyped scam pumps. I use the word scam because anyone who falls for them has been mentally scammed into believing these prices are justified.

XMR "devs" were quick to hype Polo when they gave XMR it's own market but didn't say anything when Polo started demanding user IDs to withdraw funds. It's plain as day to see they're here for the pump and not for the privacy initiative otherwise they would of voiced their privacy concerns to the community about Coinbase or Poloniex instead of breaking bread with them.

But hey at least he's not FUDing other projects anymore.

What's the point of using a platform like Coinbase if your privacy is sacrificed to the government?

The point is that Monero would be more accessible. Sure, Coinbase and the government would know you bought Monero. But nobody but you would know what you do with it after that.

Also, just because Monero gives you the ability to transact privately doesn't mean every transaction has to be super secret hush hush. It's money. You can be as public or private with your money as you wish.

If Amazon.com announced they were accepting Monero, no doubt some people would scream "oh no, that's not private!"

So what? It's money.

Hey, I'm newish to all this and wanted some advice from someone more knowledgable than me.

I installed the Monero GUI wallet and chose an external drive to store the blockchain (as I have a small HD on my laptop) ... I started to suck GBs from my local drive however and so I had to quit the app to stop it eating all my space completely.

But now I would like to know where the big file is and how I can delete it, does anyone know? I would really like to run a node (for the sake of Monero and for me) but unless I can't run it using an external drive, then this isn't going to work for me and I'll to continue to use myMonero.com

Thanks for your help.
