mine is 2.5 also. but if the goal is to accumulate alot in a short space of time then it is not a gratifying endevour. however, at 2.5 you should still be mining coins in 4-5 days. still worth it in opinion. do not know yet the potential of this coin.
once mining coins take a month at 2.5 h i believe that this is truly the end of solo mining on that hash rate. this is based on my reading from other posters. depends on your personal demand i suppose.
pool mining might be a good idea.
one pool though, will that not centralize the currency.

Are you executing it somewhere that requires root permissions? Other than that I don't know.

It looks like that the most modern desktop CPU like core i7 yields the best performance. I need to get my server retired because it is not relevant any more
After reading the post above, I've got a guick question to MRO miners. I was planning on using a few old servers (6 CORE OPTERON 32GB) and mining MRO but was wondering if I've perhaps missed the the boat and there is no point? Is there a way I can work out what I can expect or can anybody give me a rough idea?

Current network hashrate is diff / 60 Everyday there are 24*60 blocks miner so (your_hr / network_hr) * (24 * 60) = number of blocks per day Pools will be up soon in any case.

I can't mine just yet as the deamon is still syncing.
Any way to check just how far it has worked its way through the blockchain?
Cheers

For people looking to sync their linux machines, I have uploaded a recent blockchain.bin here: DOWNLOADWhere do I put this file blockchain.bin? This is going to take forever to sync. I type "save" and "exit" but I do not see blockchain.bin anywhere. It's in .bitmonero exit the node, put the file you downloaded from the above link into that directory, and then restart the node It is weird. I replaced the blockchain.bin in the .bitmonero folder but it doesn't work. When I launch ./bitmonerod it is still written (23 days behind) some are (10 days behind). What does it means ?

I've uploaded the Windows blockchain here and will periodically update it on the OP. As stated in the OP, if you can mine on Linux instead, do so. The hashrate will be significantly higher. Link: https://mega.co.nz/#!fdYnzTRQ!O10VPV-4CyG6xVGr6D72mp3_lJhWP3_QuPgNUdpk4ak

You need to do simplewallet --generate-new-wallet [wallet name] Then you can open the wallet with simplewallet --wallet [wallet name]

The reddit is now spiffier: http://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/I doubt it'll be active for a few months given that MRO doesn't attract a mainstream crowd (yet). Go subscribe anyway to make it look bigger.
