MEW - Monero Economy Workgroup communication
This has been a busy day. The taskforce of crypto_zoidberg, AnonyMint, jl777 and some Monero developers and MEW members has diligently worked on the code and is implementing fixes to possible exploits that might give the attacker the upper hand. The code is evaluated so that we can say with certainty that no coinkiller exploit can be used against us, and this makes me thankful for the original coders of CryptoNote. It is too often forgotten that without this unique technology there would be no Monero that has taken the torch, determined to carry it beyond the current limits of cryptoworld.
I must point out the irony in this post. The first 3 people you mention that helped you with the code are all supporters/developers of BBR. Who's carrying the torch here exactly? BBR obviously! Here let me fix it for you: The BBR-Is-The-Best taskforce of crypto_zoidberg, AnonyMint, jl777, with expert community management guidance of windjc, plus nobody of any particular talent or value from XMR (well that's obvious since there isn't anybody)....

At this juncture the Monero core team has, independently of anyone else, worked at mitigating this alleged attack.
We will make a more formal announcement to that end shortly.
So, everyone with helmuts on and in the foxhole ?? Lobster and cracked crab all around when this is over !! Triff .. |

No idea, the BCX attack is unknown, it might be what anonymint was talking about, it might not be. I'm not sure how we can prevent an unknown exploit. I am hoping that if the attack happens, we fix things up quickly. |

So in essence you're locking people from sending coins to the exchange... So even if someone wanted to sell now they cant unless the xmr is already on the exchange.. OMFG... This is gonna be some serious butthurt! You guys are criminals.... Price will go to zero and now people dont even have a last shot of saving some of their investment.. You are a royal fuckup along with the rest of the monero devs. |

I see the notice on Poloniex, but have other exchanges (e.g., HitBTC, Mintpal, Bittrex, BTER) also agreed to suspend? I hope the team is maintaining close contact with the exchanges in case further quick action is needed by them. |
