How do I know if I am merged mining now and that something is happening? I can see that VTC is mining as usual...

Code:
monocled getbalance
0.00000000

I've seen the following in the console:

Quote
Got new merged mining work!

Hopefully that means its working right.

p2pool.vtcpool.co.uk:9555 now listening for merged mining

Mining here with three rigs, working fine.

i moved to it but's most likely not good for me single card miner , but it's working.

anyone know which is best p2pool for slow miners?

What config did you use? Mine failed when I tried this:

tcp://p2pool.vtcpool.co.uk:9555 -u vtc_address.mon_address -p x

I thought a "." is required between the VTC address and MON address?

I couldn't see any output from p2pool to indicate if it was or was not working, but eventually I got a transaction for 1.0 MON into my wallet so I suppose its working. This was on my private p2pool node not using the temporary pool software.

I just noticed some log entries on the vtcpool.co.uk node indicating at least one person is connecting with the +0.00xxx etc option for share difficulty - you MUST NOT use this option when mining on port 9555 for merged mining. Only use your VTC address as username and MON address as password, do not pass a share difficulty or you won't be able to connect.

I can see from the log there is a rush of miners coming in for the merged mining.  I see there are invalid addresses VTCAddress+0.00011641 .. guys.. REMEMBER DO NOT PUT THE +something at the back of the addresses.. ie it should be just VTCAddress (without the +0.00011641) and MONAddress (without +0.00011641).

Thank you, and to dsergeevich and Lucky_U.

It's working! My hashrate has reduced to 718 khash/s from a usual 780 khash/s (normal for scrpyt n with my cards) - is that to be expected?
