Which programming language do you use the most?

cpp?

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Myself : Mainly c# these days.. Used to do a lot of assembly and c++, but was mainly for hardware coding. More high level stuff now and business/web related.

As for the others, I'll let them speak for themselves.

hi,

just a question popped in mind, your projected btc is 1500.
If you can only make up to 500btc by the end of last date, does that mean you will still distribute the whole 15% between these investors, or you will lower the percentage of this distribution?

thanks

Also how do we obtain those shinny little gifts in return of our investment?  Grin

Nice to see your wanting to invest more - the momentum on the Presale price is increasing as its going to end soon  Smiley

I've omitted the question RE numbers as it's going to be better coming from others - But for the Presale Goods just go via www.syscoin.org and follow the link to claim Presale bonuses at the top.

actually i invested twice, first one was .3 btc, then another 1.2btc. One was from brother and the other was from myself. Do I get to take both of these bonuses or only one? I hope both  Cheesy thanks

Were both sent using the same email on the form? if so... yes Smiley you get both!

I have invested, and where can i find the invested list?

We will have our public ledger up in <2hrs! Apologies for the delay.

I'm new on this thread - sorry if this has been asked before, but what's the difference between Sys vs Ether? I'm about to change some litcoin to BTC for an investment. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you want to see your investment this year, then sys coin it is.

the amount of ether that will be mined every year is dependent on how many they sell during IPO. so the more they sell the more that will be mined the year of release, giving a bigger dilution to the already mined/bought coins.

Sys coin will be released fully working with apps and working code by 16th of august.

Ether you have another 12 days to purchase at this price and then another 28 days after that to further buy some. then you have to wait till at least December/January to see anything if at all.

Sys coin offers refund on failure to deliver (escrow thru moolah)

Ethereum team are allowed to use upto 5000 btc before anything is even done properly or working and if it is a complete failure not a single refund.

This needs to be added to the FAQ

+1 and will add! Wink

When will there be a public ledger available?

Should be finished shortly.

Does he mean block explorer? So this (and rich list?) would be available before IPO ends?

No just a ledger to show how many people have invested and at what amounts. This is helpful to see if there is a concentration of wealth (are there 4 investors all maxing out at 25btc? or are there many 0.1btc meaning better distribution?). These are legit questions and the ledger will be public in a <2hrs.

Which programming language do you use the most?

cpp?

I am mainly a Java, Actionscript3, Javascript, HTML/CSS developer. I also do large scale project management during the day (and coding, and mentoring) and I am no stranger to C++. I also am very familiar with PHP, MySQL, Coldfusion, NodeJS, Apache, Linux, AWS and other environmental / development stack stuff like that.

Also I'm kinda a tech geek, love getting my hands dirty with new/cutting edge tech. That is why I am so involved in crypto this is really the future imo and will lead to major real-world changes. I have been playing around a lot with HTML5 constructs and all the awesome power is is bringing to the next revolution of the web too.

If you overpaid, you will receive the appropriate amount of Syscoin for the total amount you sent, even if in the form you initial specified a different amount.

Also, we will have the portal for claiming physical rewards up after the coin-launch, we need to wait as many people are increasing their positions/purchases as the presale phase(s) close and the physical reward is based on your final, total position/purchase of presale SYS. We've got all the merchandise ready to ship!

How much were you guys expecting. Or need to break even

Honestly, we're incredibly appreciative and humbled by what has been purchased via presale already. I think to say we were "expecting" any specific amount would be inaccurate as we just put in the time and work without any hard expectations. In retrospect we really could have screwed ourselves by doing that but I'm glad people are seeing the value in what Syscoin is bringing to the table.

The entire team is very excited to launch Syscoin and we think this will make big waves in due time. Just like businesses- coins don't go far without some operating budget+purpose+vision and Syscoin has all three. It doesn't hurt at all that Sycoin also has real market-differentiators to the table at launch.  Wink

The total we are selling (UP TO 1500btc) attempts to recoup some of the costs for our time and other expenses incurred during development as well as projecting forward for future development costs, on-boarding additional developers, marketing, partners, etc.

i think showing aggregate amounts (total per email address / "wallet") would be useful to get a sense of the distribution.

This will be added to the FAQ soon because I had to skim back a few pages to collect some replies I'd given, this thing moves fast!

Questions to the devs:

--how long have you been working on this project? And could you briefly describe your planned time commitment to this going forward?

8+ months, time commitment moving forward is as much time as we have outside of our normal day-job/lives and we are also on-boarding additional developers to supplement that capacity if/when needed.

--how does the coin production/distribution setup provide insulation from the risk of massive miner/whale dumps? Is there an estimate out there of the max # of daily BTC trading volume that might be needed to absorb mined coins?

If you check out the schedule here I think the values at the far right speak for themselves. Also keep in mind there is a 25btc limit per buyer in an attempt to insulate from an over-concentration of wealth leading to "massive dumps"

--how will delivery be verified. Is there a disinterested third party that will verify the guaranteed-or-refund features are 100% delivered (marketplace, certificates, name aliases, and data aliases) and work well?

Delivery is verified by the Syscoin team similar to every other coin released in today's market. The code will be open source at launch so anyone can review it for additional verification; but the initial delivery testing and verification of the features is the responsibility of the Syscoin team. We will have demo videos of all of these features working before launch so people have a better understanding of them. No third parties are involved in verification as none were involved in forming the requirements. There is too much room for interpretation here. If investors had sent BTC prior to us implementing/writing a single line of code and provided a requirements spec-doc then this type of approach would be more feasible.

The Syscoin team has developed requirements stipulating concretely that all of these services are implemented directly on the blockchain- meaning everything is inherently decentralized and the coin can be merge mined (or regular mined) with the specs/schedule as advertised. Beyond that the design of the individual services themselves were developed in-house and as such will need to be tested/verified as functional by the team. We considered putting out a beta but the overhead of managing this would prevent the team from working on delivering things like the [additional] escrow feature by launch (currently being worked on).

--what immediate plans do you have beyond delivery of these core guaranteed features to further increase the value of the coin/network?

Collected funds are being focused on several things, primarily building partnerships with large players in the crypto space (I mean companies, not whales). We're also going to be spending some of the collection on bounties, although not all of it as we do have a small amount of Syscoin for bounties as well. Then of course, future development; we're already trying to push additional features (2) into the coin prior to launch, on top of the 4 that are already completed. Outside of that we will hold much of the BTC for ongoing costs that we can't currently predict. We already have some deals in place that look to exercise the BTC we're collecting and the deals we're working on aren't cheap, but will ultimately take Syscoin to the next level. That being said nothing can be "guaranteed to increase value" in crypto as its a highly experimental field and as such we make no such claims.

--along those lines, are smart-contracts/prediction markets/futures/options things you plan to implement, or can see being (fairly quickly) implementable into this framework?

Some aspects of what you're calling out could be implemented in Syscoin fairly quickly but we have other roadmap plans that supersede them in priority at the moment. Additionally we need to discuss our roadmap after escrow and reputation systems. Once we get past that feature set it seems like there isn't a strong call for one thing or another just yet so we we're going to focus on smart-contracts within Syscoin but things like prediction markets, futures and options are on the roadmap at the moment; doesn't mean they can't be added. Keep in mind the target demographic here is large financial markets, services and systems so we will be prioritizing features in that vein of development.

--what do you consider the three biggest uncertainties regarding development implementation (either with core or future-beyond-core features)?

How can we implement a fully automated escrow (we're working on an agent-based escrow currently)? How can we implement smart contracts as is commonly understood in crypto on top of the Syscoin Certificates foundational structure? Which features will be the most heavily leveraged after launch and how will that possibly change the roadmap? ie: what if data storage is a the huge feature everyone uses instead of market or certificates? How would that change our strategy/would it?

Hope these answers satisfy your questions Smiley

yes im with you.  displaying name would be a very bizarre and uncalled for thing to do.

i think displaying a random reference number would be fine (that would allow us to see the totals per account in the case of people investing in multi-parts)
