I have been thinking long and hard at the power the whales have to ruin coins. With being invested in both syscoin and cloakcoin, i'm worried the whales will have the same influence to manipulate and pump and dump this coin, no matter how good.

Cloakcoin as of now is really one of the best, (syscoin not released yet) but it feel to extreme FUD on threads and massive manipulation by pumpers and dumpers.

Lets face everyone, this market the whales won't allow other coins to succeed as they are only out for the bitcoin, and killing all coins in their path, even the good coins. I think we that invested in this IPO and developement team must look hard at what happened to cloakcoin and consider this is NOT a free and fair market, and some otherwise not free market tatics might be worth considering in the light of this.

Development and hard work is just a better sign for whales to pump a coin harder and dumper it even harder.

I believe this was brought up before, but I as an investor would rather see the IPO bitcoin be used first and foremost to sustain the IPO prices. I know this is not free market, but we are not working in a free market, it's manipulated already and massively could kill all the hard work. I'd love to see such a massive buy wall at IPO entry prices nobody would consider dumping, or if they did they would get there BTC back at value.

Hiring new people on the team is awesome, and should be done, but sustaining the prices, and therefore interest in this coin is more important than any of this.

In reality look at it this way. If a 100 BTC buy wall spread out on exchanges would hold prices to IPO price, then even if people dump to get out, they would get their BTC back, and the team would get the Syscoins for further payment in the future for things. If coin can least remain at IPO value for six months the likelyhood of a massive dump are more unlikely.

I hope the development team truly considers this, as would hate to see all hard work die. If publicly stated certain amount of BTC is held to sustain IPO prices, it would reassure investors to hold, and also bring more people in as they would see a floor where they are less likely to lose any more at this point.

I know this is a lot to think about, but please look closely at cloakcoin what happened, and how it is most innnovative coin to date with working trustless anon, but is dumped to almost starting levels. Please consider your investors in the early days and consider doing this to keep your coin in the top 10, and lets break free of whale manipulation where we can finally get to a price whales will barely manipulate anymore as it's not profitable.

I agree... Too much potential in Syscoin. It would be shame to let the whales kill it.

What about developers also setting up a new forum at launch, and locking this one, and or STOP posting here. It's soo very toxic and counter productive. Move to a format where the fud and whales are not running the show.

Bitcointalk has become a cancer to cryptos and needs to be moved away from. Anything we can do to prevent whales and toxic group from spreading fud and disinformation.

I hope syscoin team understands just how very bad this can get once the launch, it will be a full time job moderating or refuting FUD. Not worth it, keep doing job and forget this format or only post updates, nothing else after launch here.

Do feed the whales.

I agree, I hope not. I feel like syscoin are great guys, and bit idealistic too. I think more realistic approach needs to be taken since it's not a free market here in cryptos. That's a fact.

there's a 25 BTC buy maximum - I think there was one person who bought over 250 BTC of Via so that's a whale!

Question: I invested several times, each time to a new address (some key pair, some wallet.dat). What is the best way to consolidate the coins in one wallet when they're released? If I just keep importing new wallet.dats will that erase the previous amount from the previous wallet.dat? Or is the best thing to do to keep them all in separate wallets?

Thanks.

order key pairs that way you can import all into the same wallet.
wallet.dat is a bit more complicated and more work if you have more than one.

To Dano..

I've invested several times to different addresses, and some of them have been ordered as wallet.dats. I'm finding out that wallet.dats are problematic to consolidate into one wallet. Would you be able to change the delivery method of all my orders to key pairs if I give you the email addresses I ordered from?

Thanks in advance.

Seems like a really nice coin.  I put 0.25 BTC in it.  Hopefully, big whales will not ruin the flow of the coin which has so much potential.

my experience is that the whales hang onto coins - for instance if you look at via - there have not been any huge dumps at all...
