ok guys,

i was checking the pools and it seems like we forked again.

The Pool located in NY is about 10 blocks in front of the other pool.

107.170.153.128

Waiting for instructions, setting both pools in defense maintance mode now.

I countered as fast as possible.

Pools are now again back on the same chain, i think that fork was just about to happen but we got it countered.

We maybe mined one block which is going to be an orphan soon.

Thanks for countering that testbug, great work man!

your are welcome Smiley

I like that coin and its devs+community.

I removed the maintenance mode but closed regisration and invitation.

To all new miners: We will get everything fixed by tomorrow.

If the community is willing to do this, we could get a list and seperate hashingpower by location EU/US for the beginning.

With a 3. pool comming in tomorrow (i will create one for sure) and with the wallet update i think its going to be better.

good job  Grin thank you

We'll have a beta version of a hopefully fully updated windows wallet in a few minutes. Come to the IRC channel if you're interested in testing it: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23vericoin&uio=d4

If your wallet.dat file is broken but you can load the client, you can export your private key using "dumpprivkey *old wallet address*" in the debug console. Then take that private key, make a new wallet, and import using "importprivkey *key*"

That will keep all of your coins and you will have a merged wallet with both addresses.

Update your addnodes to the following:

addnode=107.170.99.191
addnode=107.170.140.210

I've created a second supernode which should help wallets stay synced properly. Delete your files in %appdata%/Vericoin besides wallet.dat and make sure vericoin.conf has those two lines above in it. If you are having trouble please come to our IRC channel: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23vericoin&uio=d4#

Hi Everybody,

Sorry for the problems we experienced today, there were two issues occurring at the same time and it was difficult to deconstruct but we've figured it out.

The two separate problems are as follows, you may have experienced 1, 2 or both in some cases.

Problem 1:
If you are running the windows wallet on windows 7 and are experiencing crashes, then your issue will be addressed in an update to the wallet software coming later tonight.  Your wallet is ok, we have a forward compatibility issue because the wallet was compiled using Windows 8 and that creates some library conflicts with windows 7 computers.  You don't have to do anything but update to the new wallet later tonight.

Problem 2:
If you received a wallet.dat error on the left corner of your wallet window, then you had problem 2.  Good news is there is a simple fix.
This is a result of the forking which is less likely to occur tomorrow because we at least 3 pools at the moment, making it much more difficult to hit 51% on any of them.  My next post will be a walk through on how to fix Problem 2.

Problem 2 walk through:

If you have a wallet.dat error on your wallet window:

-In view menu show hidden files, now you can see AppData in C\Users\username.

-Go into AppData\Roaming\VeriCoin

-Make a copy of wallet (DAT File type) and put it on your Desktop and ensure you have a copy on your Desktop

-When you are sure you have wallet on your Desktop, delete everything in this folder

-Go here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9j2rF3pLtDvLS0zNk95LVBRb28/edit?usp=sharing

-Now download vericoin.conf and bootstrap.dat to this folder (C\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\VeriCoin)

-Now download vericoin-qt.exe from link and save it anywhere you like

-Open this vericoin-qt.exe

-Blockchain will update and you will have no coins

-Once your wallet is up to date close it

-Now take the wallet(DAT) file from your Desktop and paste it into C\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\VeriCoin replacing the former

-Now open the vericoin-qt.exe you just downloaded again

-You should now have your coins, be on the correct blockchain and up to date.

There is also a 3rd problem: Your pool won't let us register on either one..... how are we supposed to mine a supposedly fair coin when only a few lucky ones get to mine on the pool. Pools of Honour.....not so much.

The note on there page says registration open....but they lie.....it is not open on pool 1 or pool 2!
The other pool has no hashrate which equals no coins........What is fair about this situation?

Many that want to mine this coin now can't.

What is the status of the pools?  How long will the rest of us be locked out of mining?

Feel free to mine on https://vrc.pool.enterprises our registrations are open and right now we are at 7.5 mh/s.

The current diff is 2.4, I do not think you'll have any trouble mining coins no matter what the pool.

They were alright this morning but I've been trying to contact them all day with no reply to verify that they are on the right blockchain. I'll update once I hear back from them.
