Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

forget my last comment doing pool mining now but still cant get it to work, this is my batch file code

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://norteamerica.megamineros.com:3334 -u markandrew.1 -p x -I 17 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 12000
pause

i put pause in as the window just shut down straight away after launching, is cgminer the wrong miner?

please help! Huh

are you starting the batch file from the directory that contains cgminer?
what is the last line you see before "Press any key to continue . . ."?

in same folder as cgminer, and yes it says press any key to continue, im thinking it may be the version of cgminer 4.3.5
before that it says 'cgminer: --scrypt: unregonized option'

mark, try a lower intensity. You may need to play with it to find the optimum stable settings. However, there are sites out there that have reference settings for different GPU's. This is a good one for example:

What is the story with all of the tiny buy orders at cryptsy?

There are lots of orders for small fractions of a CSC.  It's got to be a bot or something but I just don't understand what it could be doing...

Huh

Traders use bots all the time to walk the price down with very small orders.  It could be used on the upside as well, of course, so it depends what this particular trader is aiming for.

Anybody here know Max Keiser?

Haha.  Last year he just mentioned Quark on his show and it went up something like 2,000 fold (thought it was 300 fold but was corrected today).  And it was originally close to what CSC is selling for now, it was around 200 Satoshi.  Rumor was Max held a ton of quark so he pumped it.

Anyway, CasinoCoin is probably the best niche coin out there but it definitely needs some kind of exposure to really make it go POP.

Traders use bots all the time to walk the price down with very small orders.  It could be used on the upside as well, of course, so it depends what this particular trader is aiming for.

If the spread is narrow and bid is excessively larger than the ask, the trader is likely trying to hold the price down to make their bid price more attractive. When the spread is very large, people tend to think that the fair price is somewhere in the middle and the bid is not as attractive. The reverse can also be true when they want to make the ask look more attractive. Another popular strategy is to narrow the spread, place an order at the bid, fill the spread in with small orders to narrow the spread, then place alarge order just behind the ask. This baits small orders that come in below the large order behind the ask. The current book looks very much like this actually.

The trader that autofills the book is basically manipulating the perception of a fair price on the book.

Exposure is obviously welcome. However, we want to create a sustainable coin in the end. The changes that are coming not intended to be some sort of get rich quick pump and dump scheme. This is partly why we're discussing it so openly instead of just springing a new client on you guys in a month.

Try cgminer 3.7.2, newer versions do not support scrypt anymore. Otherwise try sgminer instead.

last time I used cgminer on ubuntu, I had to try several versions. I think 3.4.something was the only one that worked but it misreported difficulty numbers for scrypt. cgminer's dev did remove scrypt after 3.7.2. Mostly because he is a bitcoin purist.

That's a good point.  I'm not sure what would happen if CSC would be featured on a show like Max Keiser's.  it could be good for long term or it could just create a short term pump.

I agree, long term mindset is best.

Do you guys have any info on the guys who were interested in buying the ATMs and setting them up for CasinoCoin?

I'd like to see if i can contact them to see what, if any, long term plans they have for CSC.

Thanks!

Has anyone tested the mac install recently?

I am running it right out of the box(not updating config at all) and its been 10 minutes and still says "No Block Source Available"

Is it pointing to the right nodes?

Does anyone have API experience typically JSON(want to display CSC value, HashRate, and Total Supply on casinocoin.org homepage)

I have script for using a jsonRPCclient script for extracting info from the casinocoin deamon. If you like, i can create an example for you?

Try adding a .conf to your mac version I had to do this before syncing was possible.
http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/11190/where-is-the-configuration-file-of-bitcoin-qt-kept

The old chain looks to be longer then the CORRECT current chain. Were are these miners? We need to have them convert or when we initialize the updates they will be two versions behind.
I am seeing some debating on the different updates we want to implement, so let's put everything to a vote and go from there?

Seen max keiser name above, and please try and stay away from him. He would only pump CSC to his liking and then dump, It may rise the value but in the long run it would hurt our image and value.

I have some API experience.  How do you want to get the data into the webpage?

Ok, being lazy...but have the seed nodes been updated in the source? At the very least delete the ones that are there because they are on the old blockchain.

Edit: Stopped being lazy and checked the source. It still contains the old seed nodes. This is likely the source of sync problems.

https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/blob/master/src/net.cpp

Line 1190
Code:
// DNS seeds
// Each pair gives a source name and a seed name.
// The first name is used as information source for addrman.
// The second name should resolve to a list of seed addresses.
static const char *strMainNetDNSSeed[][2] = {
{"casinoco.in seed", "seed.casinoco.in"},
{"casinoco.in seed #1", "seed1.casinoco.in"},
{"casinoco.in seed #2", "seed2.casinoco.in"},

I saw that, our whale is back and he's the highest bidder too.

So this isn't just to set in a floor, this guy wants to buy more coins.

But why and who would want that many CasinoCoins and why wouldn't he wanna be stealthy about it?
