no so much the price -- more the hashrate -- CSC is at the threshold "point of no return"
very few outsiders investors are willing to look at anything under a GH/s amoung asics
none at under 100 MH/s
And an other thing, ... it is not so much the hashrate but the amount of peers that make a crypto network stable. It is better to have 100 peers with 100 KHash than 2 peers with 100 MHash. If big hashing power peers enter or leave the network it will reestablish itself automatically. If there are enough geographically separated peers the network will not be influenced by the loss of a few!

I think BitcoinNational makes some very solid points in his comments.. as a dumb ol' miner, I cant turn my whole farm on this coin, its just not profitable and I stopped mining it for a while now, I still hold a bunch of these, and see potential,... I will put 10mhs back on the coin and gather to do my part, pretty small part of my farm... I will look at it again in January..

will it help if I sold a few here and there?

I've been in Thailand and Cambodia last nine days. However, I'm back as of last night. I've started talking to Gemalto about adding 2FA. They have some interesting thin token tech that I want to see if it can be integrated.

Take a look:
http://www.gemalto.com/financial/cards/display-interface
Whoow, those are really cool. Probably cost a lot as well  Undecided Have you also asked them about possibility and price for getting a SDK of some kind?

I met them at a conference. Trying to work out the details.

Looks like someone cashed out. They just dumped 250,000 CSC on Crypsty.

It's a very thin book. Personally, I don't mind these prices. I'll continue to accumulate. hehe

I'm really interested in increasing my stake in this coin ahead of a real proliferation of scrypt asics in 2015.

Why do you think Scrypt ASICS will increase scrypt coins price, and CSC particularly? There are tons of scrypt coins out there. This is just mining technology, it adds nothing to coin value\adoption\usefulness.

asics will legitimize alot of scrypt coins by increasing the hashrate across the board for these coins which collectively have been a path to getting bitcoin for most miners. there is a lot of money that won't come into scrypt coins until hashrates increase substantially.

As for price increasing due to asics, it's the same as when asics came out for bitcoin. For example, if you multiply the hashrate by 100x or 1000x, difficulty will shoot up, and we'll still be generating the same number of new coins per day. those coins that will be generated will likely be concentrated into the hands of a small minority of miners who purchased asics and less into the hands of smaller operators that we find now. a lot of selling pressure is relieved through this action.

For me, this is an opportunity. I'm willing to take this from the weak hands and hold this coin for years. The upside potential is just too good to ignore in my opinion. People are always unhappy when someone runs the price down, but personally it doesn't bother me. I have enough cash on me to purchase all coins in existence at these prices and not even notice. So please go ahead and sell.

FYI - If you guys want to sell so bad, I just placed a 2.16m CSC buy order on the books at 120. Feel free to give me your coins. I'll give them a safe home for the next few years. Wink

Look at what happened with paycoin, from 150 sat to 11,000 sat in 2 weeks and they didn't even own the .com domain name.  Zero development - the value popped just because of the name and the fact GawMiners wanted it.

This is what I was saying last year - buy coins with great names and niche markets cause eventually they will get bought out by big money.

Casino coin has bigger value than paycoin simply because they also own the domain names.  Anyone wanting the CasinoCoin name would have no choice but to negotiate a buyout of all the casinocoins which is what I expect to happen with a number of these older coins which have locked in a great name and domains.

iXcoin - Welcome to the F U T U R E!

I'm still around. Last client release was in June. It's been functioning well. Everything has been chugging along quite well. The coin is nice and stable. The client has been very reliable all things considered. If you guys have feature requests please send them. Also, if you would like to contribute some items for newsletter, we can send one out.

You can solo mine it the same as any other bitcoin client derivative. Search google for bitcoin solo miner guides. There are many.

Run casinocoin-qt as Server by adding these lines to your casinocoin.conf file

RPCUSER=[username]
RPCPASSWORD=[password]
Server=1

Point your miner to http://localhost:47950 (if miner is connected to same pc where wallet is running)

Otherwise connect to the IP/Port of the machine running casinocoin-qt

e.g.: cgminer --scrypt -o 192.168.1.77:47950 -u [username] -p [password] etc...

c:/cgminer/cgminer --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:47970 -u user -p password

Add this in the casinocoin.conf

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=47970
addnode=seed.casinocoin.org:47950
addnode=seed1.casinocoin.org:47950
addnode=seed2.casinocoin.org:47950
addnode=seed3.casinocoin.org:47950
addnode=107.170.240.40:47950
addnode=50.116.32.4:47950
addnode=99.249.22.39:47950

Mine with your wallet active and synced.

@casinocoin: In the OP there it says server=0, that has to be server=1

Sounds like your firewall/router is blocking the port. You need to open the port to allow the miner to connect properly. But yeah, search the forum, the answer is there somewhere. Best of luck.
