Isn't 78 million coins a year a lot?

What do you think which scenario is better?
1. 200k TACs per month for first 6 months  and then suddenly 6mil TACs for month for next 6 month?
2. Or 6mil TACs per month and then gradually decrease to end of year.

Do you think in which scenario some serious investors will consider to invest in TAC ?
Please stop this mentality. At this stage we need more of people to know about TAC, to use TAC. The 1 TAC block reward or too high TAC price would scare every newcomer who want to join.

In reality of course the 50 or 1 TAC per block scenario couldn't happen, so I agree that my examples are a little bit extreme. But every block reward change more than 10 folds would be dangerous.

Regards,

This changing block reward is not a good concept I think.

It should be related to supply of miners...

I agree with this... Happy to leave other things open to voting however manipulation of the block reward regardless of the amount of miners is bad news long term...

I think voting on changing block reward adds some life to the coin and the community. And it causes different kinds of reactions for different people, meaning the coin is always changing and doesn't get boring... Take a jump to 1 TAC reward for example: the current (short-sighted) miners may jump to mining another coin, but this leaves less difficulty for the long-term thinking miners to mine more easily. New miners aren't likely to join during 1 TAC reward period, but some new people may still buy and then vote the reward higher next time, then they may actually mine. And I think the TAC value won't jump around too much on the markets just because of a temporary block reward change.

It's fun, engaging, and part of what I love about TAC so much. More voting will be even better, but please don't remove one of the best features of Talkcoin!

I have released an optimised version of nist5 for sgminer (and amd). It is based on x11mod from lasybear
It works best on 14.6 amd drivers.

It was tested so far on my R9-290x and allows to almost double the hashrate.
On the standard talkcoin kernel, I was getting around 8.5MHash/s (on 14.6 drivers)
With this kernel I get 15.8MHash/s (average) at 1050MHash/s

To use it:
"sgminer.exe --kernel nist5 --no-submit-stale -o stratum+tcp://erebor.dwarfpool.com:3350 -u Your_Tac_Address -p1 -I 19"

I highly recommend to keep an eye on the temperature as the card can run hot (80°C) and over/underclock according to your liking.

The source can be found at: https://github.com/djm34/sph-sgminer_x11mod
binaries with ADL (fan temp) support for windows: http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/26248514/file.html

Donations are welcomed (since I double your hashrate  Grin)
    BTC: 1NENYmxwZGHsKFmyjTc5WferTn5VTFb7Ze
    TAC: TuqNvPoQxghHfzwnPpAxSTiYoN6FM8LM5p

Well I hope there is a bounty for that too  Grin

it seems that using xIntensity instead of Intensity is better. My sgminer is a lot more stable using xIntensity.

Any improvement in speed ? Could you share ? Thanks.

I noted an improvement in stability

This is my settings for two R9-290

Profit and future investment seems to be what the masses are searching for .. more than fun, though fun is a bonus.

There should be a vote to permanently leave at 1 block reward or vote for rewards, the first would be the best option for this good coin in the long run

If you guys want fun coins theres always hunter coin theres a built in game i think, though not sure how that coin ended up

I nee some serious help! Everything worked fine until I upgraded everything. Now when I launch SGMINER it will come up and immediately freeze/reboot my PC. Happens on 3 rigs... I used Display Driver Uninstaller and removed all AMD drivers and folders. I then installed the new 14.6 drivers. I updated my SGMINER as listed on the first page to the latest and greatest. I have everything setup fine for my .bat file, I have my shaders set, and removed everything for intensity and thread-concurrency. It doesn't make a difference. I even removed MSI afterburner and installed the AMD SDK just in case. Nothing make a difference. It always launches, gets to the mining interface and then crashes the rigs. Any ideas as to what this could be?

Start the wallet with the -nosound parameter.

Where does the 1 TAC go for each chat?

To the devs, it will all be destroyed or else redistributed through p2p games in the future.

how to mine it?

Using the miner that's linked to in the first post.

After a long and tideous battle I narrowed things down. I have 4 other rigs without integrated graphics. If I installed 14.6 drivers and ran the nist5 sgminer, all went well with the increase in hashrate. The 3 rigs with the problem have amd integrated graphics which won't allow me to disable even in the BIOS... So I downgraded to the 13.11 Beta drivers and was then able to use the new miner. I get 5.25 MH each on my MSI R9 270x's and 4.05 MH on my Gigabytes 270's. Idk if this is even close to what the new speeds are but it is all I can get. I must add that I did put --device 0,1,2,3 in the config to disable internal graphics. Did not help a bit. It appears that is where it hangs because when it creates the .bin file, it causes issue. Even if I copy the old file, it does not matter. I am going to dig in the BIOS again when I have time and see if it can be turned off. I didn't see anywhere but I am also frustrated and tired lol.
