I know.. but I won't get more for my 7950 than what I'd have to pay for a 750Ti. And 230 watts is like a tad bit more than running idle If you're using 230W at idle something is wrong. All of my rigs use 40-50W at idle with no vid cards, 100-120W with 3-5 cards. My rig at idle using 255W (AMD6300 + 280x+7870+7850+5670 + 6 funs) that's too much bro, my 280x in idle consume only 20w so with 4 card is only around 100w

Nothing is wrong, really I think it uses about 180 watts idle, 230 when mining. I'm just running the miner since it's on all day anyways. Not like I have a tweaked mining rig with the cheapest processor and whatnot.

if the cards are only using half the power, does that mean it would be possible to add twice as many GPU's to a PSU? got 4x 7950's running on a 1000W PSU, would be sick to get 7 on there. would need plenty of ide-pci cables though

Gpu thread 1 I 20 work for me on win7
Ok, thx, I will try. Does anybody using Smos linux for mining? I do. Can you give me config files? how is that related to SMOS? I dont understand your question. I need config file which works on Smos 1.3 for R9 270, R9 280x and 7950. My old gpu setting does not work on this new miner. I dont understand your question, either config files are not dependant on OS, only on miner. So there is no config that works best on SMOS, only on particular miner and card. So it makes sense to ask for 290 config for sgminer_x11mod, not general cinfig for SMOS. My config is for 290 and is not working very well...

Most of my systems use 8 GPU with combination of 7990 and 7970. They use about 750W mining x11 coins. They are underclock and undervoltage a lot to save energy as my electricity is 25c per kWh.

Switched to this version of sgminer and now I am getting about 2.1 MH/s per ASUS R9 270 GPU using suggested settings by OP
Thanks for sharing!

Great! Getting 3.1 MHash/s each with 4* Sapphire Radeon 7970 on GA-990FXA-UD5 OS: Win 7 driver: Catalyst 14.4 settings: --kernel x11mod -w 256 -I 15 -g 2 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1080 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 voltage: 1.13 pulls 760W at the wall. Only problem: I had to upgrade to Catalyst 14.4, since it did not work with the modified 13.1 I used to run 5 GPUs under Win7. So only 4 GPUs are detected now. Fifth one shows up with 'error 43' in system manager. Is there any way to run 5 GPUs with this x11 miner on WIN7? Suggested driver Version? Thanks a ton!

User magro on reddit posted this script to install on Bamt 1.6 https://github.com/benmagro/Add-SGminer-X11Mod-Miner-To-BAMT/Installs and works fine except I'm not getting temperatures or fan speeds showing up in sgminer. Any ideas for a fix? Had the same problem when I tried to build myself. BTW getting 6.0mhs from 2 x Sapphire Vapor X 280x, 335w at the wall. Using 280x config from OP, best I could get out of sgminer-sph was 4.4mhs, 36% increase, nice! You need to copy the adl header files into the ADL_SDK folder before compiling to see tempuratures Thanks. Got it working. If anyone else is having the same problem - I altered x11.sh script too look like this. ... cd /opt/miners/sgminer-x11mod cp /opt/miners/sgminer-4.1.0-sph/ADL_SDK/* /opt/miners/sgminer-x11mod/ADL_SDK/ make clean ...
Also edited the conf file made by the script rather than deleting and copying over another one. Script worked, modified bamt.conf, copied my sgminer-sph.conf to sgminer-x11mod.conf, changed kernel to "x11mod" - runs but get loads of HW errors and half the hashrate. Here's the sgminer-x11mod.conf, pair of 270s and a 6870: "auto-fan": true, "gpu-fan": "40-70", "temp-cutoff": "85", "temp-overheat": "80", "temp-target": "75",
"gpu-engine": "975,975,900", "gpu-memclock": "1250,1250,1100",

"queue": "0", "expiry": "1", "scan-time": "1", "kernel" : "x11mod", "kernel-path": "/usr/local/bin"
did you get this sorted ? i'm hagin a similar issue

I just let it run on www.coinmine.pw does this web site convert each coin into btc or do you manually convert ? You can do auto-payout to Cryptsy for example, and do auto-sell there. It's a nice pool, nice guy too. Wrote his own code and algo to calculate profits compared to btc. Seems to work nicely.

did you get this sorted ? i'm hagin a similar issue Not yet, spent afternoon buying cheap DRK off ADD fools. Going to have a play with it now. edit: pilot error, surprise surprise - I left sgminer-sph flagged '1' in bamt.conf, so I think it was trying to run sgminer-sph and sgminer-x11mod at the same time, with obviously shitty results. Took out the 6870 in rig mentioned above while I faff, because I am easily confused, but all 11 of my 270s are now up from 1.2Mh to 1.5MH with my very conservative settings, so about 25% increase, and it seems to be reflected on my DRK p2pool node. Will tinker some more tomorrow.
