Hi all

Just to let you know I'm going to post on Cloak's thread. I'm interested to find out about PoSA and how the community members understand it.

I'm not there to tell them XC is superior. I only want to understand how PoSA works, since I don't see how it avoids the risk of transactions getting lost due to orphaned blocks. Let's see what they have to say...

I'm not so sure a lot of the community members understand it yet. The dev team has been testing it in closed sessions via IRC and only little snippets of info have been leaked to the community thus far.

Yeah, I don't expect a whole lot of help, but hey. From the outside their approach looks like it'll face a lot of problems, so I want to see if anyone online knows how they'll be avoided.

prepare to get fud blasted by pookie snookie

This is my first post on pooky, and my last. I Don't really acknowledge him, because I learned to tune him out months ago when he was going by a different name. I thought how much he reminded me of troiste. Newtroiste (who was old troiste), had his last post in early June, and a day later pookielax31 started. Maybe just a coincidence, but troiste loved to use gifs, was a cheerleader, then became a troll as he moved onto another coin. Doing the same shit as he is doing now. BC, and the XLB community found him to be more of a nuisance than a supporter, as he postured for respect by revealing his holdings. Sound familiar?

Poor guy showed up during the Cinni pump and asked an honest question, but was bombarded with gtfo! He changed his name, because he realized that everybody knew what a douchebag he really was. The cloak guys are asking if we will take him back. Just call him troiste, or put him on ignore. If you take him serious, you will end up looking like a fool.

I hope its is not going to be like it was before the dark-truce

Pookie definitely wants to start something....

Let's see how his investment in Cloak do... and how bulletproof Cloak is...

Ah well, it takes more than one person, and few people are as volatile and offensive as pookie.

Hey maybe that _evolution_ guy and him can join forces. Ha ha.

Either way, we've got nothing to worry about. We're not offending Cloak, and they're not an incumbent coin hoping to squash upstarts.

Actually I'd like to initiate some respectful conversation with the Cloak people. That'll be way healthier.

PoSa itself sounds really interesting and might actually help advance PoS crypto coins in general.    XC and Cloak are two coins out of a few that actually have innovation out of the recent coins.

Yeah, you never know. I'll reserve judgement until there's a decent explanation of how PoSA works, but it might be legit.

Even if it works, I don't see how it's a better approach than the layered one XC takes. Layers are powerful because they're flexible. In XC's case they also compound anonymity.

Just to clarify my intentions in posting on Cloak's thread:

- I want to be able to write about XC's leading tech without misrepresenting other coins' technologies. This will help make our PR more truthful and thus compelling.

- I want to engage in respectful discussion with Cloak in order to bolster trust against whatever Pookielax might do to incite a reaction.

- In fact, I'm going to continue to inquire about other coins because I consider it my duty to be truthful in my communication. The last thing I want is to misinform thousands of people about how XC differentiates itself from other tech. It's just unprofessional to not be properly informed about what defines XC's position against other projects.

- Lastly, it remains possible that some people will interpret my post as if I was personally interested in buying Cloak. But if I was, I could just create a newbie account and find out about their tech without it affecting XC. So why would I do it publicly? My contacting them publicly and with my real username is so that everyone can see how XC treats others: respectfully and with an interest in genuinely understanding them.

This goes hand in hand with our having made our mixer code open source yesterday. Crypto is ultimately a collective effort, and XC is only where it is because of the phenomenal achievements that came before it. We're proud to be part of this community, and have every intention of being of benefit to it.

Hmm... what can I disclose?

I'll tell you that it's very smart and will nullify a certain attack vector.

I'll tell you that no other coin has done it.

As for the TOR Stick, you'll all be able to start ordering it soon enough, and when you receive it, it should have Rev 3 on it. :-)

Thank you Smiley I know about the Official tor stick but I thought you can do one yourself right now as well correct? there was a link somewhere in the website to Download the Torstick file and make a USB drive into a tor stick, But I don't find it right now. I just Bought three 16 GB USB drives to test it out

Why do people quote me wrongly (that was not my message but Synechist) and ask the same question as some one else?! The answer to the question was already given 3 posts below the first time it was asked

Yeah, get the latest version.

It's not so much a matter of risk as a matter of reducing privacy mode transaction times from 30 min to 4 min.

Why don't we make an XCurrency article on wikipedia, but not sure they allow crypto on there.
We can't keep on referring people to a post some pages back. All info is in this thread but it will take a newbie hours to collect it.

To my knowledge driv3n is doing a information sweep threw our thread(s) and combining it in a document. We could use that for a "wikipedia" kind of page Cheesy

Speaking of facts, as mentioned earlier I'm working through the original thread and then eventually this one to get the DeFUD project off the ground.  It would be great to have all the FUD and facts referenced in one place thats easy to cut and paste in the future.  If anyone else has started working on this let me know, I don't need any of the bounty I just want to help XC get to the top.

the new wallet is gonna save in another data folder
so before you install the new wallet:

got to %appdata%/roaming
make a folder called xcurrency
copy everything %appdata%/roaming/x11coin to %appdata%/roaming/xcurrency and backup your wallet.dat
install the new wallet in the directory where you installed your previous wallets and you are good to go

Seems like XC has been catching a lot of attention. The discussion on this thread is a perfect example of how other altcoiners look at XC.
