The lack or enthusiasm in this thread is palpable. No one wants this device.
I'll say it again and again, too little, too late.

Since this isn't a "Group Buy" thread, I thought I'd mention that I put "Rockminer" into Amazon, and got a few sellers, the most notable of which is "Jones Gear". I suspect somebody here is "Jones Gear". Anybody want to raise their hand?
If my post/reference to Amazon is inappropriate here, please let me know.

jonesgear is Jones Gear - they're not particularly active here, but you can also try user conv3rsion over on reddit.

While you may well be correct about "Too little, Too late" or it's poor efficiency, bad ROI, any other related items, I think your estimate of "No one wants this device" is off the mark. The Group Buys section, and even Amazon don't jive with a lack of interest. I am not trying to convince you to purchase one, or even be interested in what happens. I just think your assesment of interest and enthusiasm don't match the reality. It'll be interesting to see what the long term (i.e. 3+ months) interest on this box is.

Heck, I'm interested - I'd just rather see the BE200 on a StickMiner instead If Rockminer made one of those, I'd be all over that. As it is, though, the price for the R-Box is not at all bad - unless you go to dx/ali, the heat sink + fan assembly alone is ~$25

That depends on the purpose, but sure - pure within-spec USB is something several of them violate as it is

I'm a bitter, jaded miner... the kind of guy I used to hate when I was a newbie, lol. I'm honestly confused why anyone would buy these low-power miners now days. But then again, I started with few Block Erupter USB sticks not that long ago and progressed from there. Dozens of people told me there was no hope of ROI. And I ultimately did alright. So I guess it's not much different than someone starting now with a Rockminer. I guess the main difference now compared to last year, if you want to have some nice extra income from mining, you're not going to be able to keep your mining gear at home without adding extra power and cooling. I've actually exceeded my electrical limit with 8THs and that only brings in ~0.4 BTC per day and the difficulty is going up again tomorrow.

Yeah... in the end of the day a decentralised bitcoin mining network is a strong one so every miner is doing there bit to establish something that may well be foundation for internet payments for generations to come. I guess they are great for helping newbies learn or who are doing it for a buzz. Word on the grapevine is that Rockminer are working on a bigger faster machine

I just read everything there and from my understanding is that they guarantee a ROI for only 1 BTC, not for 2.

What USB hub would be good to accommodate this (RX-BOX)?

Surely its just a data port, so as long as its powered, any cheap hub would do?
