About
ROCKMINER is committed to the miner design, produce, sale and mining operation of bitcoin and other crypto currencies. In early stage, we will purchase the third generation chips of ASICMINER to design and produce miners. In the follow-up stage, we plan to enter related industrial chain of crypto currencies. Rock Xie, the co-founder of ROCKMINER, is one of the earliest Bitcoin investors, well-known novel writer, the board member of ASICMINER, and the General Agent of ASICMINER in Asia-Pacific. In November 2013, the team of ROCKMINER is founded with members who have rich experiences in software and hardware R&D, production and sale.

I can absolutely confirm that they have shipped. I received mine today via thomas_s. My
first impression is that the packaging and so forth are quite solid. Nothing loose inside,
and left rattling around. While the original prototype looked like a Gridseed, this is
different though similar. There is a black heatsink on top with the fan, with the board
below thatn and then a heatsink below. No dusty heatsink here. This looks like a very
well designed piece of gear, all issues of it's cost, profitability, and speed aside.

More to come.

I think I'll refrain from posting the feeble cell-phone pictures I took. The images from
Dogie are "almost like being there". That's exactly how mine looked. Of course he omitted
the ultra-highres pictures of the USB cable and power lead.  Smiley

It is great to see the BE200 chips coming onto the market. Great photos Dogie. The X-Box looks like a very promising miner.

Your welcome Tongue

Hehe, yes minersource provided two units for review, and an additional one came direct from the factory.

Oh don't worry, there are 24MP pictures of the cables and connections Tongue Being barrel based there are many, many ways to power these things so I'll be discussing the most common ones.

I'm not sure on the timeline for this one, I'm rock solid busy until Wednesday night, Thursday is written off due to completion of the thing on Wednesday, Friday I'm away. Tldr, ASAIC. The pictures are what takes the longest and they're all ready and uploaded.

So the instructions from rockminer say that frequencies 270-290 are supported. 270 worked. 290 was a little faster. Tried to experiment with 285 and now the box is no longer recognized over usb :-|

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Using the cg-debug command provided in the windows binaries seems to have reset the frequencies for the chips. Testing was a little obfuscated because ghash went down at the same time which caused cgminer to have trouble starting. new pool, new test, seems to be back to working as normal.

What's up with the BE200's in those pics?  Are those scorch marks from soldering them in place?  Is that normal?

I'd guess it's just remnant thermal compound - there's heat sinks on both sides of the board and Dogie had to remove them to get those pics.  Nothing a few fluids can't clean up before applying some new and getting the heatsinks back on.

Yeah it's thermal paste, I left it on to show the strength of the contact.

What gh/s speed did you get with 290?
