What USB hub would be good to accommodate this (RX-BOX)?
What USB hub would be good to accommodate this (RX-BOX)?

We have had great luck with the Eyeboot 49 port powered hubs, and the Orico 10 port powered hubs.
http://minersource.net/collections/frontpage/products/49-port-powered-usb-hub

Surely its just a data port, so as long as its powered, any cheap hub would do?

If you're running it off a raspberry pi though obviously it needs to be a hub that works with the pi.

Other than that I'd think anything would work.

Are you basically guaranteeing ROI within 2 months?

I just read everything there and from my understanding is that they guarantee a ROI for only 1 BTC, not for 2.

I think it is 1btc per xbox with a minimum of 2. Some clarification and/or an english translation would be nice.

What USB hub would be good to accommodate this (RX-BOX)?

Looks like they come with a usb hub and rpi.

The lack or enthusiasm in this thread is palpable. No one wants this device.

I'll say it again and again, too little, too late.

While you may well be correct about "Too little, Too late" or it's poor efficiency, bad ROI, any other related items, I think your estimate of "No one wants this device" is off the mark. The Group Buys section, and even Amazon don't jive with a lack of interest. I am not trying to convince you to purchase one, or even be interested in what happens.  I just think your assesment of interest and enthusiasm don't match the reality.

It'll be interesting to see what the long term (i.e. 3+ months) interest on this box is.

You're absolutely right! I'm a bitter, jaded miner... the kind of guy I used to hate when I was a newbie, lol. I'm honestly confused why anyone would buy these low-power miners now days.

But then again, I started with few Block Erupter USB sticks not that long ago and progressed from there. Dozens of people told me there was no hope of ROI. And I ultimately did alright. So I guess it's not much different than someone starting now with a Rockminer.

I guess the main difference now compared to last year, if you want to have some nice extra income from mining, you're not going to be able to keep your mining gear at home without adding extra power and cooling. I've actually exceeded my electrical limit with 8THs and that only brings in ~0.4 BTC per day and the difficulty is going up again tomorrow.

you would be perfect buyer of one unit.  buy it and solo mine btc with it.

this is a great unit for solo mining for any one with 1th or more pool mining.

what is needed is an easy plug n play usb/raspberry pi option for some one to use this to solo mine.

here is your math this does 32gh at 39 watts on a shit power brick .  so it should do 32 gh at 35 watts on a stud atx psu.
__________________________________________________________________________
you have 2 s-1s on a 1000 watt psu mining at a pool and run this at solo mining.
_________________________________________________________________________

the idea works
_______________________________________________________________________________ __________
you  are like me you have a host setup like I do in china a few dragons running 2th at a pool
4 ant s-1 undervalued running 630th at a second pool.

and soon to be running this at solo mining.
_______________________________________________________________________________ ___________
the idea works

My goal is to create a 2 pack setup for ebay sales set to mine 1 at bit minter and set to mine 1 solo.

try to sell this around 200-250 usd.   give  an atx cable like this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JG7AGDY/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

a usb stick like this :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EF3GVAG/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

with custom setup software.

I think this would sell.  You as an 8th miner truly are a perfect candidate for 1 unit set to solo mine as

it gives you and endless shot to score big on every block mined.

At the same time you are pulling .4 btc a day with your big guns.

If you break the math down at:
 todays diff  11.7
with todays power prices <20 cents a kwatt  and the current price of btc 660 usd +

it fits the definition of investment not the definition of gambling.

statistically speaking it would turn a profit not a loss thus investing not gambling.

also if this can do a pencil mod to drop hash to 28Gh, but drop power to 25 watts  they are even better.

Can we get a little more clarification on the XBox?  Either Google translator is malfunctioning or it's repetitive broken english.  It does look like it reads each one will hash at 600 gb/s and a minimum order of 2.  But that's where I get lost.  The 60 days hosting looks to be mandatory or is that the protection plan?  They speak of payment by escrow, who?  Please, very interested but need some questions answered. Cheesy
No, it does say 1 unit = to 2 * 600ghs. Shocked
Now as I read this  http://www.rockminer.com/R60/
You can receive these miners for 1 btc = $650 as long as for the first 60 days host mine for them.  After that the contract is up and the miner is fully paid for.  Does that sound right?

chrome translates it better  here goes:

so frankly  I am thinking  you need to order 2 pieces  600gh each 1 btc each  But for now it has promise

If I read it correctly the important details.

The price is for hosted mining, they will host your miner for 60 days, and you are obliged to pay electricity for it.
Rockminer guarantees you will recoup your 1 btc cost, if after 60 days you only earn 0.8 btc, rockminer will refund you 0.2 btc.

Sounds like a great deal if all is legit Smiley

rockxie,
it's still a bit confusing.
Let me repeat what I understood and ask for clarification:

it's 1 btc per xrbox (minimum order 4) ?
when we receive the xrbox, we mine for ourselves, not for rockminer?
if after 60 days of mining, 1 btc is not mined back (or USD equivalent, reference $650/USD) then you will pay back the difference to bring the total to 1 btc (or USD equivalent with starting reference of $650/USD)

rockxie,

Couple of questions for you please.

1) The 60 day hosting peroid begins on day of delivery. What is in place to help guarantee timely delivery?

2) Do we have control over which pool the RX-Box is directed to (wallet also) at all times?

3) Is our 1BTC per RX-Box hosting deposit held in escrow? If so will it be held until the full 60 days hosting period has passed even if RX-Box is delivered 8 weeks late?

4) Is there a cancelation policy in place if you deliver late?

4) How can we be sure you will pay any shortage of earned BTC?

4) Your site does not allow selection of country or cities for shipping calculations in the checkout section!

Thanks Trends

This is a unique concept but I 'm not seeing the protection required for miners!

R60 is very interesting. It is too bad minimum order quantity is 4 though. The problem being that the set would require more current than a single US circuit can provide. So if we haven't already run electric for a small farm then we are either doing that or running extension cords or networking cable to connect to the Pi.

I'm thinking about this from the perspective that was mentioned: getting more people involved in mining. This is targeted at someone with lower risk tolerance, who may not already be involved in mining, but who still has the infrastructure or space to run something that power hungry (in Quantity 4). It seems like a narrow market.

Is R60 going to be sold by resellers in quantity 1 or only in higher quantity?

Thanks.

That's what I was looking at. Two on a circuit would work.

I'll buy some R60's when Canary sells them.  Trying to order anything off that Rockminer website from the U.S. didn't seem possible.

I'm in as well but need some questions answered first so we know the skinny.  It is a wonderful thing when companies pay attention to ROI and they compensate the adjustment as best they can.  I smell a group buy coming on, but that would seem to break contract with RockMiner.
