If Cloak were to die, it would be a huge shame as it has unique features and one of the most forward thinking teams in crypto. If this coin fails, there is no point for me and all of the investors who put their money behind coins for their technology and real world application to continue in crypto. This truly is a gem of a coin, and if it can't succeed simply because of the pump and dumpers and weak hands, then no good coin has much hope.
+1. If a coin with real, already working innovations and honest devs can't survive in this market then it's a market I don't believe will succeed in the long term and I'll put my money elsewhere. I'll ride this journey out and if I end up losing money I'll have learned a valuable lesson about altcoin trading. |

It is fascinating seeing your 25 BTC turn into less than 6 BTC in just a few days. I have done it again  But as usual, I will keep all my coins until the bitter end (been there, done that - don't ask me why, I just canät let go  ). I know that feeling pretty well, but I just refuse to realize it. Yeah, I'm still quite confident that the price will recover. It's all about manipulation in crypto (sadly...), and some guys suppress CLOAK's value so more and more people "abandon the ship". It'll come back. What goes up must come down - and vice versa. |

Look at Darkcoin's chart. Sure the current price sucks but instead focus on making your community stronger. Email crypto blogs. Email Max kieyser (spelling?) (lol yeah... but he has a large crypto following). Start a fund to pay for google ads, youtube video ads, facebook ads. COME ON! Stop crying about the price and dumping your coins. Figure out a way to turn it around. This isn't the time to fall apart.
Dark, by far, has the largest community of any similar coin. They are like a freaking cult. Sure some come and go as the price goes up and goes down but the core community is huge and has a lot of support. If you want cloak to survive you need to stop panicking and show support for the coin. Good coins are not built over night. Long term stability is not built over night.

Don't worry about the price, Cloakpal, and PoSA were both just launched. Once PoSA v2 and one market are out there is no way the price will not skyrocket.

I have a proposal that might help CLOAK get off the ground.
what I think CLOAK needs is more exposure. Its hard to do that when the only people aware of CLOAK are people involved in the altcoin space. What if we had the CLOAK client skim a percentage of fees from every tx and send that over to a CLOAK foundation. The CLOAK foundation would then converted CLOAK into FIAT. The fiat would then be used to pay for professional advertisement and marketing campaigns.
Its hard to run a marketing campaign on donations. Most people here are selfish and would rather keep their CLOAK then donate to a cause that would increase the value of their CLOAK.
Of course, we could run this for a bit of time then remove it, or keep it in place so that CLOAK can really reach a global target audience in perpetuity.

Whales buy cheap. Wait for good news. They pump and add support to keep the price looking like it'll stay up. New buyers come in and whales start dumping on them. New buyers add support to catch cheap coins. Whales continue to dump. Eventually whales got out what they put in + some more. Bagholders end up dumping on each other till they run out of bitcoins. Whales never return. Rinse and repeat on another coin.
And investors have options now. It isn't just a couple coins (like BTC, LTC, NMC, PPC). Mining in 7 days, no more mining now, price has been pumped and dumped. People can look else where and not just settle for CLOAK because it's the only coin.

Good! What about the possibility of a small POS percentage increase. A fraction of a percent or something that's added to an advertisement fund. Hmm or maybe when a POS block is mined a small percent is sent to a fund address. Kind of like EMC2 did with taking part of the blockreward and using that for science. Maybe a donation option within a wallet so its voluntary? Is something like that possible? |
