We are using Roboto, like the google material design guideline suggests. It's the most typical font for material design and already used at http://crypti.me

Check it out: http://www.google.com/design/spec/style/typography.html#typography-typeface

I have a personal interest in typography, and I like Roboto.

https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Roboto

To be fair, many people don't:

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

FEE UPDATE / REMINDER

We have now hit block 114,000 and all fees have transitioned to their new values!!

The fees are now as follows:

Delegate Registration: 100 XCR (down from 10,000)

Second Passphrase Registration: 5 XCR (down from 100)

That's huge change. What is the reasoning of this?

Simple.  Don't demand high fees from the very people you are asking to support your DPoS network forever with money out of their own pocket.  And don't discourage better security with high fees.

Mal,

The original thinking behind the 10K fee for a delegate was to discourage delegate formation by people that are not serious about XCR, not to fatten the foundation wallet.

We felt that a low fee for delegates would attract a lot of flies, who would just be a delegate for the .5% transaction fees (similar to NXT).

Once we lowered the transaction fee to .1%, being a delegate became unprofitable enough to not even recoup the server costs of $5 a month.

Once we had made forging unprofitable, charging a 10K fee seemed overkill, so we lowered it.  The community (that's you Mal), were asking for 1000XCR fee for delegates, but we voted and decided on a lesser amount: 100XCR.

The only interesting girl you're gonna find at Yahoo is Marissa Mayer.

Use Google Images for "crypti girl":

Oh, yeah.  That's more like it.

I still say Kari Russell is MY crypti(c) girl...did you SEE the focus shift in that final camera shot just before fade-to-black in the Season 3 Finale for The Americans?  THAT is brilliant cinematography.

Mal, I junked my TV 20 years ago.  The quality of TV programming is not what it was in the 50, 60, and even the 70s.

Shows like I Love Lucy, MASH, and Twilight Zone will still be around in 50 years.  But we wont be keeping up with the Kardasians for much longer.

I do watch old shows, of my choice, on YouTube occasionally.  I prefer SciFi.  I was just watching Earth Final Conflict, but they pulled it.  Just finished Andromeda 120 episodes.

I would phrase it "Once we realized no matter what we did that forging was going to be unprofitable..."  and from there 100XCR for the Delegate fee is absolutely the right move.  I woulda asked for 100XCR instead of 1000XCR but I thought you would believe I was crazy and laugh at me.   I'm proud of you guys, I truly believe you've done the right thing.

I have identified 140 people from Peercoin and Bitshares that set up nodes for those PoS/DPoS coins with their own funds just to try out the role of noderunner for themselves.   Over the next week or so I intend to PM them and ask if they would be interested in doing the same for Crypti and join us in the start of our adventure.  I'm gonna offer to send them 110 Crypti each to cover their Delegate fee if they accept and register.  We'll see what fruit this initiative bears, stay tuned.

I cannot blame you for junking TV, it is indeed a wasteland.  However, we are in something of a golden age right now and there is actually some amazing isolated nuggets that are WELL worth watching.

Call this an experiment.  Trust me, watch the first season of Breaking Bad - it's only 7 episodes, cut short by a Writer's Guild strike.  Bryan Cranston won Best Dramatic Actor Emmy for this show three times in a row and four times total, and he won his first Emmy with the scream he belts out at the end of Episode 6.  He woulda won a fifth Emmy but they stretched the timing of the show out in a way that made him ineligible one year.  Breaking Bad is widely recognized as arguably The Best Television Drama Ever Made and I am not exagerating when I say it has the emotional depth of Hamlet or King Lear by Shakespeare.

Don't take my word for it.  Lots of critics out there say the same thing.  Here's what Forbes had to say in the final weeks of BB after its six year run:

"Twenty three minutes into Episode 514, entitled “Ozymandias” after a Shelley poem, Breaking Bad made television history....Sometime around that first commercial break, Breaking Bad broke away from the pack and staked its claim to the title of television’s Best Show Ever....

...we’ll be covering our eyes as we watch these last two episodes.

Why does it all matter?

It matters because television finally has a great drama that makes no excuses. Breaking Bad seems destined to end with as much power and majesty as it had during any of its season-ending/season-opening cliffhangers. The water cooler conversation after the finale airs on September 29 will be dominated not by head- scratching analysis, but by slack-jawed awe."

http://www.forbes.com/sites/allenstjohn/2013/09/16/why-breaking-bad-is-the-best-show-ever-and-why-that-matters/

Give BB a try.  I'll bet 100 Crypti you binge watch it just like millions of others did to get ready for its final season.

Heck, you can watch the extended version of the Breaking Bad pilot episode 1 (originally aired with no commercials and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the extra scenes) right here right now:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xm12aj_1x01-pilot_shortfilms

I Love Lucy, MASH, and Twilight Zone will still be around in 50 years.  Breaking Bad will be passed down for thousands of years as an American Tragedy just as much as any Greek Tragedy has spent thousands of years getting to us.

Yep, totally agree.

Btw, I've just finished watching the first season of Better Call Saul from the creators of Breaking Bad.

It had the very same affect on me watching Breaking Bad, thoroughly engrossing. Loved it! Grin

It's a pretty amazing story / fictional universe when even Saul the court jester (pun intended) has enough 3D substance to carry his own show as a superior product to pretty much anything else on TV.  Creator Vince Gilligan is a once-in-a-lifetime creative genius right up there with Hemingway and Faulkner.

I have absolutely no problem if they make Jonathan Banks an equal co-star and change the name to Better Call Mike.  If he doesn't get Best Supporting Dramatic Actor Emmy for his cameo episode, then then the voting is rigged.

Looked into this blog after a gap of two days, last visit I was on page 526 and found that it has now reached 530 so prepared myself to
read every post thoroughly till the last page and

found that the last page mostly talks about BB, BCS, etc.

Last time I checked a post here referring to BCS I ended up watching the whole BCS season one in two days. It seems now is the time for BB  Grin
I started watching BB season one a year ago but quit after 3 episodes as it seemed to be veryy slow but time and again my friends have been telling me to give it a try again. Guess I've to do it now.  Wink

Crypti Design Preview

Today I want to show you something we worked on for quite a while already, a new design for our client. We as a team wanted a sleek, intuitive and familiar user interface. Therefore we decided to go with the Google material design guidelines. And in our opinion it was the right decision, our designer created something really beautiful!

To keep as close as possible to the Crypti design, we still use the three official Crypti colors (green, blue, purple). Based on this we build up an entirely new user interface for our client. With this we make it truly awesome!

For now we show you three pages; "Dashboard", "Dapp Store" and "Forging". Starting next Thursday, we will take a detailed look at the different pages.

We will introduce the new design with the next major update (v0.3.0), at that point it will not contain everything the preview reveals. This will happen from time to time, along with our backend feature releases.

Stay tuned, there is still so much more to come for Crypti and we truly believe, that we create something huge here!

Epic dramas take their time to believably drag their main character down into his own personal hell, and it takes a while to truly destroy everything you love and hold dear with your own pride and greed and hubris.

They named one of the final episodes Ozymandias for a reason.  And then it got worse.

http://www.online-literature.com/shelley_percy/672/

BB is so powerful that Netflix went to the trouble to reformat it for 4K resolution streaming as their premier offering and a Spanish TV network translated the scripts verbatim into Spanish and reshot the whole series with new actors in Columbia.
