I remember Litoshi said he lives in remote area. Maybe forging delegate in the city can keep uptime better? Again we have to test this with others.
Right now crypti is not valuable. But later if crypti has value and is responsible for billions daily such a valuable network can not be dependent on third party cloud services to run the node. That is the kind of centralized aspect. A delegate running his reliable node from his home or dedicated setup that he controls fully is more trustworthy than rely on amazon who can close your account.
If Crypti becomes valuable enough, delegates will be run by businesses who provide services on top of Crypti who have their own corporate grade servers and fast connections near the backbones. Right now we are like when Google was still in a garage.

Yes, Mal, I live on a mountain in N Idaho, but I have DSL. It is fast, but not always fast enough for the 10 second blocks. For delegate forging it all comes down to how close you are to the internet backbone and if there is any other interference with your internet. For instance, look at the Stas delegates....... they are all under 50%. Stas is running his delegates from Israel. Israel has a filter on internet traffic crossing the border. That has slowed his response times for his delegates. Hubtm.VR also tried to run a delegate from a internet gaming cafe in Amsterdam. He only hit 43% uptime.

It's not centralized. We have nodes in over 20 different locations in the world. China, Japan, Philippines, Australia, many Europe countries, several different states in the USA, and so on. This is decentralized enough already. No, it is surely centralized if controlled by one person or one group of persons. Geographic locations does not equal decentralization With any Crypto Currency based on Proof of Stake or Proof of any kind of holdings, like NXT, there is always the potential for it to become centralized at any point. If Bill Gates or the like decided tomorrow to come buy every coin in existence, and they controlled 100% or even 75% of the currency, they should potentially be able to take down the network, correct? Even in Bitcoin, if Bill gates wanted to buy $1 Billion worth of equipment and start mining, he could seriously disrupt the industry and network. This is a problem for any currency. If someone wealthy got it in their head, they could manipulate, monopolize, or even shut down the market at any point. Do you remember the very good old story where the one word answer was "IF"? We are still in our infancy with only 1/3rd of the intended features even live. Give it time.
So you agree that now Cripty is centralized!

An attacker would have to DDOS all 101 delegates at the same time to stop the network.
Unfortunately, I don't think this would be very hard. Assume a Villain knows the public IP addresses of all 101 Crypti Top Delegate nodes, knows the format of spoofed Crypti data packets (either Lite Wallet packets or 101Club forging packets) to send to these IP addresses, and has a single Vultr server to launch a DDoS attack. Vultr says their max data rate is 1 Gigabit per second (see https://discuss.vultr.com/discussion/210/connection-speed-in-vps/p1 ) . This means a single Villain with a single server can (theoretically / worst case) aim 10 Megabits per second at EACH Delegate SIMULTANEOUSLY. In a 10 second blocktime, EVERY node would have to process 100 million bits or 10 MBytes of fake Crypti DDoS packets. Are we scaled to handle such a load successfully? I bet the answer is no. This is not a rhetorical question, I would love to hear dev comments.... Currently the 101 Top Delegate servers are performing two functions simultaneously: (1) communicating with Crypti Lite wallets to accept details of ongoing Crypti transactions, and (2) communicating with other members of the 101 Top delegates to forge a blockchain. Function 1 REQUIRES a list of public IP address known to all (at least all Crypti Lite wallets) for the 101 Club servers. These public IP addresses are subject to a DDoS attack. Currently, such a DDoS attack would not only knock out Crypti Lite comms (Function 1), IT WOULD ALSO HALT THE FORGING OF THE CRYPTI BLOCKCHAIN (Function 2). This is why I suggest that future versions of Crypti Delegate contain a darknet function, to maintain blockchain forging via a SECRET PRIVATE network of 101 IP addresses even if the PUBLIC network of 101 IP addresses are attacked. This would mean a new delegate would set up two sets of Crypti code on two separate servers - one block of code on one server with a public IP address to handle Crypti Lite comms, another block of code on another server with a secret IP known only to the 101 Club to handle 101 Club comms and blockchain forging. A DDoS attack would then halt Crypti Lite comms and stop incorporation of transactions for the duration of the attack...but the FORGING OF THE BLOCKCHAIN WOULD CONTINUE UNINTERRUPTED. The very act of organizing the Crypti 101 Top Delegates to keep the blockchain forging on a darknet even when under a DDoS attack is a prime deterrent to a DDoS attack being started in the first place. Something to think about.

But i think that if we had hidden delegates to continue forging while under attack, we would not need 101...... we could run the bc with only one delegate forging, but better to have 6-10, same as number of required confirms for transactions. Of course, this would only inflame starik69 that we have become CENTRALIZED!!

He's gonna be the one to become inflamed and start the DDoS attack himself if he doesn't get voted into the 101 Club soon! (Just kidding, starik, I know you'd never do THAT...I hope.)

Hello, please consider voting in this poll: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1042097.0It's an attempt to measure whether the altcoin community feels that marketcap is an indicator of success, and possibly discuss it. I'm targeting ~500+ page ANN threads, and not trying to spam everything with bumps, so please kindly don't delete this unless I've accidentally posted it more than once in your thread. All opinions are welcomed.

I have started my first 0.2.0a forging node on Vultr - Atlanta under the Delegate name of MalReynolds01.
I would appreciate your vote - particularly since I am on Page 2 of the Delegate list and you may have to make an extra mouse click to find me!
Thanks!

CLICK on the "25" and they all show page 1 I have put in a suggestion that if there are 11-25+ Standby Delegates, then a future client defaults to "clicking on the 25" by itself to show 11-25.

Crypti Design PreviewToday I want to show you something we worked on for quite a while already, a new design for our client. We as a team wanted a sleek, intuitive and familiar user interface. Therefore we decided to go with the Google material design guidelines. And in our opinion it was the right decision, our designer created something really beautiful! To keep as close as possible to the Crypti design, we still use the three official Crypti colors (green, blue, purple). Based on this we build up an entirely new user interface for our client. With this we make it truly awesome! For now we show you three pages; " Dashboard", " Dapp Store" and " Forging". Starting next Thursday, we will take a detailed look at the different pages. We will introduce the new design with the next major update (v0.3.0), at that point it will not contain everything the preview reveals. This will happen from time to time, along with our backend feature releases. Stay tuned, there is still so much more to come for Crypti and we truly believe, that we create something huge here! The Crypti Foundation Hey Passion_ltc Is this still on for tomorrow? Are you guys going to give us a detailed look at the different pages tomorrow?

In the new UI it will be a bit different. Once we have it, you can criticize it again and we will see how to make it even better.
