The release of the catapult was very positive for the price. However, even now the price starts to go down again. I hope that this is just a correction, because the general market of crypto-currencies now weak due to the falling bitcoin. By the way, the developers will speak on the consensus?

Here is a picture of the events:

the real price increase will come with the news to catapult going live on the NEM chain.

I want to share with you that NEM-tools.com is now back with all functionalities:

if you want to know more about the latest development check out my blog-entry:

here a list of all features:

  • show account-information (balance, vested balance, poi-score, cosignatories, ...
  • transaction- and harvesting-history (recent and full history, ability to export to csv)
  • harvesting (automated restarts of delegated harvesting and calculator for vested balance)
  • supernodes (list of all supernodes and information about free slots)
  • buy-xem via changelly-widget
  • guestbook (leave a message or feature request via "wishing wall"

Someone has practised with Google Doc's Science Templates Smiley
and found the Dev's fingerprint from the PoI algorithm Wink

https://docs.google.com/document/d/13M3wbdjI0Nzx-OKAd0dRCfOYFA_oT9Ydg96DkiUBsDs/edit?usp=sharing

We've briefly seen the paper, it's good to see time taken to do outsider's analysis.

regarding fingerprint, problem is the data used:
  • the doc takes all harvested, but balance/importance of an account could change over time... (i.e. take a look at funny outliers presented in a table above, that have high hBlks/r_imp_H, balance is very low, what does it tell you? the doc even states Balance:  r_hBlks / r_imp_H  has a weak correlation 0.344 should it really be surprising if you take ALL harvested blocks, but take only LATEST importance?)
  • fingerprint graph on x has balance, on y has hBlks/r_imp_H,
    • mind that there's correlation between balance and importance...
    • as you can see pattern emerges for low amounts (10k - 100k), so emerging pattern shouldn't really be surprising,
with low amount you probably generate only few blocks (10-100) so what you have on this image is <some small integer> / importance x balance,
      i.e. compare two accounts with same r_imp_H, where one harvested 9 blocks and other 10 blocks: (9 / 1601000) / (0.00003) = 0.1873 vs (10 / 1601000) / (0.00003) = 0.2082, thats' where the vertical gaps come from,
      horizontal linearity should be obvious as well, bigger balance == bit bigger importance, i.e (10 / 1601000) / (0.000031) = 0.2014 vs (10 / 1601000) / (0.000030) 0.2082

yes, those were good explanations ...
you insiders can easier explain the empirical studies and "phenomenons" Smiley

> ALL harvested blocks, but take only LATEST importance

yes, that is also in the doc's last statement: "Also the statistics of current states should be replaced with the values, which are more related to the moment of the occured harvesting"

It is a honest wish, that you insiders would make a total proof against that "practical claim" Wink
The total proof would be e.g. such a re-simulation, where the current blockchain is re-run and for each harvested block the importance of the harvester is computed. Then would be possible to get the actual importance, and then also the numbers, which set the PoI in the more correct position when compared to PoS.

"NEM: Catapult is now on private network" added for voting, proof and forecast on YEENOT TODAY https://yeenot.today/catalog/news/248
how many companies used enterprise distributed ledger ?

The second version of the company’s popular mijin blockchain software, codename Catapult, delivers update for the NEM protocol on public and private networks, providing swift and scalable smart asset and signing technology for the enterprise

“This is a key milestone on the roadmap to release the Catapult blockchain platform publicly as well as launch the developer lab, which will lay the groundwork for our mijin enterprise cloud offering”, said Tech Bureau North America CEO Tom Beno. “Entering this new phase, we are closer than ever to realizing the promise of bringing the latest version of our blockchain technology to both private and public networks such as NEM.”

LMAO, at the Blockchain Conference in New York, this guy, John Fenley claims NEM foundation owes him huge sums of NEM. Is this true? Funny as hell to stage a protest. Give the guy a break, he needs a new pair of sneakers.

Its a great summary and everyone can quickly see that all his fault. No chance that he will receive anything from the foundation.

He is posting on twitter now and protesting right before the conference

This should be huge, right?
Is this priced into NEM already?
I have some NEM, am just wondering if it is time to accumulate more.

it is huge yes since they are on track and everything works as planned. The big push comes surely after the addition to the NEM main net in the upcoming months. But this tech is really next level

Man, such a dedicated troll. I'm shocked with the strength of his delusion. You must be a real loser in your life to insist your wrong beliefs to the point of protesting in public and in a humiliating way.

Now, whose fault is this, whether the person John Fenley what he is showing the photograph is real that XEM is not giving his XEM coins? It was in 2014, why he didn't claim those till now and now he speculating a lot of things on NEM team.

The news has been out for a while, so the markets have had the time to react to the news. In this market, it seems like this news has been mostly discounted, although do keep in mind this is just the testnet.

Well its a massive bear market... I dont think any news is gonna help now
But NEM team does not care about making the coins value grow

In a good market even testnet news can be a reason for a good move up

Overall NEM is a strong coin for the coming years

I think it's a sign that you're on your way up when you inevitably start getting hecklers and upset people. It's just one of those things - you cant please everyone. Besides, this absolute fool has only himself to blame. Back during the NemStake distribution I introduced people to it who were barely tech savvy -- nevermind Crypto savvy -- who managed fine and got their stake redeemed.

If he didn't follow the rules, thats his hard luck.

.....There's something really Christian about this guy. Like, Ned Flanders, self righteous "I'm in a Christian rockband" Christian. Am i the only one getting that vibe?

The graphics in the opening post need to be relinked again. It does not make a positive impression for such a great project like NEM.
Someone from community might take responsibility and update OP from time to time.
Looks like NEM forget about bitcointalk.
Don't think you can do that unless you have control of the ournem account.
That's obvious, but ok, let me rephrase that Smiley
Someone trustworthy from bitcointalk may arrange with NEM foundation and get access to ournem account.
