any update on the mobile app? It is a game changer for sure. People are not going to carry laptops with them all the time to spend xem. If you truly want it to be widely used by the public then cell phones is literally the only way short of some sort of payment card which I feel would be much harder to implement. Or would it......how cool would it be to be able to link you xem balance to a debit like card then integrate the square card reader with the mobile app to allow transactions to take place.

We had a wider test group for Android discussed on a thread on the forum.  Now Android is going undergoing the new UI design that was applied to iOS.  And iOS is now getting updated to Swift 2 (this might lead to it being compatible with Mac OS later and in the Mac store as well as the iOS app store which would be pretty cool) while also still under going the UI improvements.  

I'm also just speculating but Swift 2 is open source and since Mac isn't that dissimilar to Linux, I am keeping my fingers crossed that some great Linux devs figure out how to make Swift 2 apps work on Linux.  Likewise, Microsoft is reporting they want apps from other platforms on their app store.

Mobile is definitely the future and for me a priority, but for desktop environments app stores are becoming very popular too.  It would be nice to also be represented there.  There is A LOT that would have to happen and we are just trying to get iOS and Android apps that work and look good going now, but I think it is not impossible to have a light and trustless wallet on each of the major app stores at some point in the future (no time frame given but not 2015).

There was a new Android release put out today and has now been given to the Android testers.  I was wrong that the mobile devs have started the new UI on Android.  They are still working out some of the bugs that were reported last time getting the app functioning well, and then will move to the new UI.

I think you should define what progress is so far we are improving client and such stuff.
There is no new investors in crypto today so is hard to find fresh blood.
At some point when monetary crisis will come and anbd it will for sure you have many countries in critical debt
state like Greece, PIGS in Eu most cuntries lays in deep sheet.
They can go over those financial problems mostly by inflation (printing money to pay intrest)
And then people will start looking for alternative monetary systems some of them will try invest in crypto like in
GOLD before. ( i personaly favour buyng silver ATM ) Crypto, GOLD, Silver are unique assets even not inflated to much.

As for NEM lets answer opurselves:
What i can buy with NEM ? - Hmm nothing
Why i should buy NEM now ? - It have good devs and probaly will have unique features in future
Can i earn by minig with NEM ? No about 100-300 XEM per 10days holding online 3m stack.
Is there other way like NEM rewards ? Maybe in future you can get 3000-4000 week with rewards but not today.
Can we setup smart contracts or something like asset exchange with XEM ? Not today
How many XEM devs have today ? I assume is about 25% of all for support XEM. This is good for devs  bad for free market (P&D) squads

So lets be honest today you can speculate what you can do with XEM but not really use it.
So we dont have REAL buy preasure today lets face it.
Those issues are adressed to most crypto ATM not only NEM.
We need time shops real assts backed up by XEM today we can only dream about better future.
Devs are good so if have to gamble with crypto i have chosen XEM.

its not understandable how a project with so much potential as NEM attract so low market activity

only explanation i can find is thats the downside of zero inflation
no sell pressure = low trading activity
only when utilization by services and apps finally starts that situation will change

the marketcap and trading volume doesn't represent at all
that NEM is one of the biggest potential coins fo 2016


i suggest NEM set up a multipool that allow mining on nicehash and convert earnings to payouts in XEM

we run such a thing for DMD Diamond and it did redistribute over 10% of total coins in the last year

thats exact the market activity impule NEM needs

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Somehow, "multipools" doesn't seem fit for NEM. Talking about it is one thing. Understanding how this applies to NEM is another. How exactly does this apply to NEM? NEM is neither PoW nor PoS in their purest form. We don't need GH/s machines. We just need a pc with 2 or 3GB RAM and that's it. Even a Raspberry PI works.

Lots of people out there with mining rigs, if they want to broaden out into another currency, they can move onto NEM quite easily without all the hassle of going through exchanges etc.

NEMsters shouldn't purposely pollute this beautiful planet for no good reason.

and its the XEM in DEV funds

not to make themself rich but to create funding for their projects

i really have to say if that is the case u do it just wrong

dont sell on markets (and if then never below 50) make auctions on nem forum where people can buy XEM for like 50 satoshi a peace

Let's face it: people outside BTT are not interested in cryptos while BTT users are here to convince each other to switch to their favourite coin.
Your proposal is to make a huge change in our protocols (months of development) just to try to steal few BTT users from other coins.

Devs instead are trying to attract users improving NEM and developing useful applications for people (dragonflypay.com) and businesses  (mijin).
