Just want to let you know that there is probably an issue with the official NEM faucet. I get an error trying to request some NEM. "An error occured, please, try again.". The faucet is still funded and I tried it yesterday and today without success.
I know, no issues, faucet will be down for the weekend, few things to change in the code. It probably doesn't work again ? This is output from faucet.nem.io page : "Your previous claim has not been executed, please, contact Quantum_Mechanics" I know, can't even see what's going on, no access to the server.. (moved for few weeks, changed ip so can't connect). Maybe node went down or something. Sent a message to Kod (to change access) but I can only connect from phone as tether and seems I can't have static ip so...

I suppose this describes a blockchain bootstrap file? http://blog.nem.io/how-to-import-the-database-file-provided-by-developers/now at http://bob.nem.ninja/ this is the newest? nis5_mainnet.h2.zip 2015-Jul-28 12:54:04 92.4M application/zip >4 months old Is there another source for the blockchain? (Then perhaps change that manual?) If not ... suggestion: Perhaps you can create a script that puts an updated bootstrap file there every month/week? You want me to build that for you? How much do you offer?

original: https://forum.nem.io/t/is-nem-turing-complete-or-plans-to-be/1671jabo38
there is a roadmap to V1 in the development contract that states the following:
The completion of V1 is planned to include the following features:
● Completion of all the features in the existing wallet
● Coloured Coins (Smart Property Tiles)
● Business Rules (a.k.a., Smart Contracts)
● Decentralized Asset Exchange
● Integration of multisig into the AE and business rules
● Snapshotting for quick syncing of nodes
Whilst the above is a wish list, the development team will have to assess if it is
possible at all to implement some or all of the above. The development team shall be
in no way bound to this.
So I guess in general the asset creation feature is finished, now time to look at a asset exchange and business rules to start to make NEM smart. Then on to snap shots.
As far as I know there are no plans to make NEM turing complete, but instead give it functionality to do the things that people would normally what that for. For instance, I watched the big Ethereum conference and looked at the highlighted top 20 projects and watched how they talked about someday they were going to build x on Ethereum. But time after time, I kept on thinking, you could actually do that now with the features NEM has already implemented and it would be easy with the APIs. We just need to get more working examples and the word out more so people can get it.
there are a few very important points in this aimed V1 development goals that will make sure NEM become one of fundamental pillars of the new blockchain economy congratz!

Updating ... My last version was: 0.6.25-BETA Current seems to be 0.6.43 Is the upgrade mandatory? Is there any danger in (not) upgrading? Where do I find a manual for that? How to upgrade on Debian? This manual only mentions "0.5.19 or lower", and not Linux. Just delete the old files, unpack the new files? suggestion: better documentation locallyWhat about adding a history.txt or changelog.txt to all nemwallet-folders. Where can I read a changelog? Thx.

There is a category for that on the forum https://forum.nem.io/c/releaseSince those have been automatically migrated from the old froum some of them might look wonky but the information you're looking for will be there. I'm pretty sure there was at least 1 hardfork since .25 but even if not...why would you not want to upgrade ? Everything that you might need to do or that could go wrong should be here http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/

This weekend the price can hit 100 sats I hope it does but there is just way way way to much downward pressure. the only way is UP baby !!!!!! ( the trader attitude from some here is hilarious ) The opposite actually, only 5btc in buy orders back down to 20 sats again. I kick my self every time for not selling at the peak for some reason I keep thinking this time may be different but it never will be the downward pressure is to massive. For every million someone wants to buy up theres 10 million that wants to sell down.

There was a 100+ btc sell wall and I do not think any one person owns that much of NEM. Many people want cash now, not later, and 150% return is good for them.

taking an open source community p2p currency project and turning it into a blockchain solution for the banks (for your own personal corporate end) now makes you the second dev to scam NEM. in a free world u wana forbid banks to use NEM blockchain? freedom goes in all directions any occupy wallstreet/we are the 99% organsiation can use NEM chain the same way as any bank or even goverment NEM is a technology like a knife its not good or bad by itself its always the people never the tool to make this tool known to more people and show them what u can do with it is sure a great achievement congrats makoto! banks can use whatever they want. cryptos about an alternative to the banks, not creating backend for the banks. zero for the crypto community will be gained for makotos own personal corporate business plans off the back of the NEM community. for makoto NEM is New Easy Money....for his future banking career. Makoto knows what is being worked on and what is planned. He still holds all his XEM, as well as the other devs. And in fact has bought some extra. You lame attempts to troll are getting old.

Great. Perfect. Exactly what I had hoped for. Thanks. Then, for the next version, I suggest a changelog.txt or history.txt which simply contains this one line: https://forum.nem.io/c/releaseEasier to find then. I'm pretty sure there was at least 1 hardfork since .25 but even if not...why would you not want to upgrade ?
I want to. Just making sure I know everything about it before I upgrade. Don't want to loose coins. Yes, I checked them. I suggest you add some text about "upgrading on Linux" to either http://blog.nem.io/ubuntu-installation-guide-standalone/ or http://blog.nem.io/how-to-remove-old-nem-software-versions/ Do I simply delete, or overwrite? Thanks a lot!
