According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

You'll always be able to count on trolls when a crypto is down. I'm sure they'll be back.

I would really like to make 20 btc out of 2 and it seems I can do it.

You can't do it yourself.
You will need the market and the market participants to allow you to Wink

In some cases this isn't true. There was some coins in the past where with 1 btc somebody pumped a coins price to like 20x

Had to reinstall win10. Installed java but I am getting this error trying to run NIS. I saved the Nem folder before the wipe. And NIS was working fine beforehand.

SEVERE something really bad happened: java.util.concurrent.CompletionException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: FAILURE_UNKNOWN_ACCOUNT (org.nem.nis.NisMain b)

Its a new one for me so I am not sure where to start

EDIT: Update. seems to be sorted. I changed nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = true to false and it started up. I changed it back again as it was running. Why does this line cause a problem?

Pretty clear that there are some trying to manipulate the market and push the prices down to get cheap XEM.

Just look at the charts on poloniex and see some of those sell walls.

Not working though, its been going up and down like a yo-yo all morning!

I've been seeing downward pressure for some time. The manipulation is intending to suppress and has been happening for a long time now.

Manipulation stoped...seems 170 is the new bottom. purchasing namespace 31 Dollar. Might be a good investment.

When you're not synced the network really doesn't know the account you were trying to harvest with. Once it was synced it "had heard" of the account and it worked.

How many developers are actually working on this coin? I think that group of people behind it is really small. I don't understand why people see future in it and what is causing the price growth?

Maybe you should read more than one page of this thread.

If i am interested in a project like this, it doesn't matter how many pages i'd have to read.
So no, this is one of the most stupid questions i ever read on BTT.
To estimate the success on a basis like "how many devs are behind this" is just... yeah... stupid.

Probably because it's mainly Japan that seems to be taking an interest in NEM. A few pages back will explain.

It's not a stupid question. Your response is stupid. All the altcoins I've seen so far are big disappointment and not long term investment if there is shitty group of people behind it.

In any case, it's up to each responsible investor to accomplish the due diligences, doing his own research, and finding his own responses, in order to be able to decide about the status of any cryptocurrency, according to his personal requisites and demands.
