Hey everyone. Be careful of potential phishing scams. I recently received a private message here on bitcointalk from a user "stoneone" who linked me to a bogus website (bilcointalk.org) claiming "important info about NEM open alpha". When I opened the link, it asked for my username/password but I noticed it was actually a bogus phishing site and of course did not enter any credentials. I already reported the message to the admins, so hopefully the user will be banned but just a word of warning to anyone else who may have received this type of message.
Always be careful opening links from random forum members in private messages!
got the same this morning.looking like this: straight away.. ignore any messages about nem that just say "hi".. right ^^ normally i look for the activity level.. but this one got 100+

Agree with you, people who sold the NEMstake recently show that they has no confidence in NEM, and the people who believe in NEM will catch the selling NEMstake.

Even when redemption starts you will not be asked to enter your btt credentials anywhere. A detailed guide on how to get your NEM will be released soon but there are some things that you can count on to avoid scams:
When redemption starts you will most likely get a pm from me. You won't need to enter any username or password anywhere. We're going to use https There will be a detailed announcement so before you hear anything official on all channels redemption hasn't started yet.
Also if you've already fallen for a scam. TELL ME NOW ! Most likely scenario is that the scammers will request assets.
Seeing this do you guys think we should stop issueing assets to avoid scammers requesting assets from legit accounts ?

Only way to go : buy
Strange that the value always swing from 20000 to 30000 next Not strange, just people day trading who don't actually care about NEM or even know what it is. They'll be sad once it launches and NEM skyrockets in value and they realize the small percentage gains they got from day trading is nothing compared to the actual value of NEM... Oh well, we only need people in the community who really believe in NEM anyway. I really wish I would have day traded to build up more NEM. It is always so easy to see in hindsight. Hahaha

Can somebody explain me this: NEMSTAKe is 962 euros at the moment. If I sell my NEMSTAKE I get 28k NXT, 28k NXT is 2.4 BTC, 2.4 BTC is worth 900 euro, so 60 euros to less as mentiond in coinmarketcap...

In a multi exchange rate condition like how NEM Stake is in, and with multiple exchanges all over, there is bound to be conversion differences. One would expect this in a less liquid market. Besides, your reference point of 28K may not be right as well because they may be referencing it at 29K maybe and Nxt is also dynamically changing. It is hard to pin point exactly. If there is a 60 Euro differential, you can do what we call arbitrage as well to profit from it. But think of the conversion time. By the time you get all converted you may find that the price may have risen or worse case, fallen. Moral of the story, everything is dynamic. You are taking one point in time and more than likely it is not the same the next minute.

www.iotatoken.com https://twitter.com/iotatokenIota is a brand new and novel micro-transaction cryptotoken optimized for the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Unlike the complex and heavy blockchains of Bitcoin and the like, which were designed with other uses in mind, Iota is created to be as lightweight as possible, hence the name "Iota" with emphasis on the ‘IoT’ part.

Important Info:
There seem to be a lot of scam and phishing attempts at the moment. Please don't open any links sent through PM by unknown bitcointalk users. Official info and updates about NEM will be posted here by the dev team or trusted members of the community.
Be very careful and take good care of your username and password. You don't want to lose them right before the launch.
Thanks.

Given the current state of NEM, the NEM core team wants to make a few changes in how information is shared among ourselves and with the community. We are making these changes for two reasons. Firstly, there are too many channels of NEM information and it's hard for us (let alone someone new) to figure out where to get all the NEM information. Secondly, we want to be more transparent and reduce the number of things that are discussed "behind closed doors". Currently, there are four primary channels of communication in use: BTT, NEMFORUM, TRELLO, IRC. Starting today, we will make the following changes: - All important information will be posted on NEMFORUM first. If it is really important, then the information will be cross-posted on BTT (either the full text or just a link to the NEMFORUM post). We are going to double down on the importance of this forum and will make sure that all NEM announcements will happen first on this forum! If you're a NEMster, there's no excuse why you're not here.
- We are phasing out all of the public and redundant trello boards (NEM Alpha, NEM Ecosystem, NEM Promotion) in favor of this forum. Any ongoing discussions in the discarded boards should be moved to the forum.
With these changes, there will be a single place for discussing NEM and all NEM announcements (this NEMFORUM) and there will be fewer private discussions (increased transparency). Hopefully, these changes will make this forum a more lively place . Important AnnouncementIn light of the above post from Jaguar and in order to make communication more clear and simple, we will be removing NEM Alpha, NEM Ecosystem and NEM Promotion trello boards and will migrate all discussion on the NEM forum. Please note that closure and migration will happen today. Thank you for your understanding. Update: The Social Media Center discussion has moved here: http://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2426.new#new
