I'm having a problem running the webstart version of 0.2.18. Whenever I try to run nem-monitor.jnlp, the software tells me that it recommends i get latest version of java, which I have. then I get an application error "Unable to launch application"

Next I tried standalone. when I run runNis.bat and runNcc.bat, a java windows pop up, closes out, and nothing happens

Do you have java 8 installed?

installed java 8, works fine now. I thought if i had the latest version of java i would be good to go. thank you

Hopefully the Mac issues are resolved, just gave it a go and I didn't want to get too deep into Java settings, so I gave up.

Also, was NEMstake removed from coinmarketcap.com?

Not removed. They just added a separate section for assets and it was moved into that section since it is currently only in asset form.

no, the asset issuance was halted due to the phishing attempts. we dont want to allow stakes to be stolen so we need to be sure everything is under control before issuing again. sorry for the delay.

I understand it was stopped. I want to know by when it will restart. Its a week now since the phishing attempts.

im not sure when it will start again.. im sure it will be posted here as soon as it is known..

Personally i feel like we shouldn't resume. Distribution is like a few weeks out anyway so why not just give the people time to get their accounts back or report their accounts stolen ?
Many people only check btt monthly so those will only fall for and report the fishing in a bit. It's impossible for us to know which accounts are compromised and which not. With more time passing hopefully most people will be able to recover their accounts or at least report them stolen.

Many people only check btt monthly so those will only fall for and report the fishing in a bit. It's impossible for us to know which accounts are compromised and which not. With more time passing hopefully most people will be able to recover their accounts or at least report them stolen.

Are you saying that if this individual had tried the scam at the start of nemstake distribution then the whole nemstake distribution would have not gone ahead ?

The consensus some weeks ago that the auction wasn't necessary anymore.  It was only like 100-200 something stakes, with too little time left and there were some concerns that selling that many stakes so soon would mean they would have to give them away at below-market prices (and probably it would had all ended up in the hands of a couple dolphins).

The auction was actually an old idea started by UF (correct?) before AltNemo and the coin crowd sale

no.

If it had happened back then it just meant they would had requested you to sign from the wallet you used to register for NEM.
